Sony teases new Spider-Man suit for Tom Holland in 2026's ‘Brand New Day'
'Something brand new is coming… #SpiderManDay,' the studio posted on social media yesterday, marking the anniversary of the superhero's debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 back in 1962.
According to Deadline, the teaser gives fans an early look at Holland's updated costume ahead of the film's release on July 31, 2026.
In a recent interview on the YouTube series Flip Your Wig, Holland expressed his excitement about returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
'I'm obviously over the moon and so excited,' he said. 'Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal… and I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of Covid.'
He added that filming will return to real-world locations, with production set to begin in Glasgow.
'We're gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece… it's gonna feel like making [2017's] Spider-Man 1 again,' he said.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

K-pop singer Lee Min of duo As One, aged 46, found dead at home; police investigating
SEOUL, Aug 6 — Lee Min, one half of the South Korean vocal duo As One, died yesterday at the age of 46. Her agency Brandnew Music said the singer whose real name was Lee Min-young was found dead at her home, South Korean media reported. The agency did not specify the cause of death, only saying that police are investigating the circumstances. 'We ask that people refrain from excessive speculation until the investigation concludes,' a Brandnew Music official was quoted by Korea JoongAng Daily as saying. Lee debuted with fellow singer Crystal as As One in 1999. They released a single titled Happy Birthday to You two months ago in June. Among their hits are Day by Day (1999), Desire and Hope (2001) and I'm Fine (2001). Lee was reported to have been active in the music industry until recently. She appeared on KBS 2TV's The Seasons: Park Bogum's Cantabile on July 4, featured on a single by comedian Moon Se-yoon and rapper Hanhae. In addition to her music career, Lee worked as a music teacher. She married a former office worker in Hawaii in 2013.

SEOUL, Aug 6 — Videos of bodyguards pushing fans at South Korean airports have renewed debate over the use of excessive force during celebrity arrivals. A recent video clip of boyband Zerobaseone's manager pushing fans and raising his fist while shouting 'Move out of the way' at an airport went viral on social media, reigniting debate on unacceptable escort security measures in public spaces. 'There is no strict rule requiring idols to have security at airports, but it is typically arranged for safety reasons. Also, in some countries, the crowd cannot be controlled, which makes bodyguards even more necessary,' The Korea Herald quoted an entertainment company official as saying in an article published today. 'While much of the footage shows the bodyguard's aggression, bodyguards typically try to handle the situation calmly and gently, but fans sometimes get pushed or fall in the process. Although the bodyguards' actions in these moments cannot be fully excused, they respond this way because the situation is urgent and demands quick decisions to protect the idol, as well as maintain order.' The South Korean news agency also quoted BTS member V also calling for better crowd behaviour during a recent livestream. 'I hope people can maintain order instead of causing chaos,' the singer was quoted as saying, adding that 'airports are not private venues, but shared spaces for everyone.' 'While restricting fans from crowding arrival and departure zones would be ideal, such measures are hard to implement effectively in real-world airport settings and require coordination with multiple departments within the airport,' an airport official was quoted as saying. To improve safety, Yongin University professor Kim Tae-hwa proposed a 'safety management plan'. 'The safety plan would allow entertainment companies to submit detailed protocols outlining how security will be managed at the airport, including the specific routes the celebrities will take,' he told The Korea Herald. 'Having a formal safety plan would help inform the public, especially fans, about what is allowed and what is not. For example, it could include clear rules that ban fans from coming within three metres of the celebrity. When these guidelines are in place, fans are more likely to follow the rules and less likely to get too close, reducing chaos,' he added.
