'Dhadak 2' Box Office collection day 4: Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri's film earns just Rs 1.4 crore on Monday; faces heat from ‘Mahavatar Narsimha' and Ajay Devgn's ‘Son of Sardaar 2'

Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri teamed up for 'Dhadak 2', a film that had all the right ingredients, powerful performances, a meaningful message, and mostly decent reviews. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, this Hindi remake of the Tamil film 'Pariyerum Perumal' was expected to make waves at the box office. But four days in, the numbers tell a different story. Dhadak 2 Movie Review A promising weekend, but a worrying Monday After a fair start on Friday, the film managed to grow over the weekend. 'Dhadak 2' opened with Rs 3.5 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday, and peaked on Sunday with Rs 4.15 crore, its best day yet. However, the real test came on Monday, and unfortunately, the film stumbled. Early estimates suggest that 'Dhadak 2' collected only Rs 1.40 crore on Day 4, taking its total box office collection to Rs 12.80 crore. Although a drop is normal on Mondays, this sharp fall has raised concerns about the film's long-term performance, especially since it didn't see a major jump even during the weekend. Facing a tough crowd at the box office One major reason behind 'Dhadak 2''s struggle could be the strong competition it is up against. The film released alongside Ajay Devgn 's 'Son of Sardaar 2', which performed better with Rs 2.50 crore on Monday, and a four-day total of Rs 27.25 crore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Salatiga: New Container Houses – Take A Look At The Prices! Container homes | Search ads Learn More Undo Another strong contender is 'Mahavatar Narsimha', which made a solid Rs 8 crore on Monday. And then there's 'Saiyaara', a clear crowd favourite that continues to draw audiences, earning Rs 2.5 crore on Monday alone. With such big titles in theatres, 'Dhadak 2' is struggling to hold its ground and attract footfalls. A new story, not a direct sequel While the film is titled 'Dhadak 2', it is not a continuation of the 2018 film 'Dhadak'. Instead, it stands alone with a fresh storyline and characters. The plot follows a law student who falls in love with his classmate. But things take a dark turn when her family begins to harass him due to caste differences. The film tries to tackle social injustice through a love story. Day 4 occupancy 'Dhadak 2' saw modest theatre attendance on Monday, with an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.26%, as per early data. The film struggled to fill seats in the morning with just 8.36%, but witnessed a slight improvement as the day progressed, 15.30% in the afternoon, 14.59% in the evening, and 18.80% during night shows. Box office performance so far Day 1 (Friday): Rs 3.5 crore Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 3.75 crore Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 4.15 crore Day 4 (Monday): Rs 1.40 crore (early estimates) Total (4 days): Rs 12.80 crore Will the film bounce back? The big question now is whether 'Dhadak 2' can pick up pace again. With just Rs 1.40 crore collected on Day 4, the chances of it reaching a big milestone soon look slim unless something changes mid-week. It's not impossible, but for that to happen, the film will need to gain a stronger hold at the box office, especially in the face of heavy competition.

Reexploring verses of Gita

In commemoration of Guru Aradhana Day and the 75th anniversary of Chinmaya Mission, the Chennai chapter of the organisation presented a distinctive musical and visual interpretation of 'Versification of the Bhagavad Gita in Tamil'. Held at the Chinmaya Heritage Centre in Chetpet, this Sunday evening was a blend of sacred ritual, artistic innovation, and spiritual homage to Swami Chinmayananda's legacy. The programme opened with a traditional puja and the chanting of Sanskrit shlokas, setting a reverent tone. Among the audience were devotees, artists, dignitaries, and members of the Chinmaya Vidyalaya community — including faculty, students, and parents — all gathered to witness the felicitation of the team behind the initiative. Politician Ram Mahadev was also present at the event. Spearheaded by Swami Mitrananda, the Tamil versification was released a week earlier by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Gangaikonda Cholapuram. The project was undertaken by a team of seven to eight Tamil language teachers from various branches of Chinmaya Vidyalaya. 'Even I used to chant all the verses earlier during pujas and whenever Swami would recite them,' said Gayathri, one of the Tamil teachers who was part of the team. 'But I didn't fully grasp the meaning or retain them. This Tamil versification brought us closer to the essence of the Gita. That connection is what kept us going even after more than a year, without stepping back. You can feel the Muthamizh in this rendition — where Iyal (verse), Isai (music), and Nadagam (visuals) come together in harmony.'

Salman Khan, Mahesh Narayanan In Advanced Talks For 70s-Era Action Period Thriller: Report

Last Updated: Salman Khan may soon team up with Mahesh Narayanan for a 70s-set action thriller. The duo has had multiple meetings and talks are now in the final stages. Salman Khan, who is currently gearing up for his ambitious project Galwan with director Apoorva Lakhia, is already planning his next big move. As he preps for the Ladakh shoot scheduled later this month, the superstar is actively meeting filmmakers to lock in future projects and one of the most exciting names in the mix is Malayalam director Mahesh Narayanan. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Salman and Mahesh have already had around four to five meetings, with the latest one taking place just a week ago in Mumbai. The discussions are reportedly centered around a period action thriller, a genre Salman has rarely explored in his three-decade-long career. 'Salman Khan and Mahesh Narayanan have been jamming on multiple ideas, and Salman has given a go-ahead to the filmmaker on a period-thriller with action. The film in discussion will be set in the 1970s to 1990s, and Mahesh will now come back for a full-length narration," the source told Pinkvilla. The project is said to be very different from Salman's usual fare. 'Be it Galwan, or the Mahesh Narayanan directorial—Salman is looking to explore new genres now, that challenge him. There will be a 100 percent clarity on the Mahesh Narayanan film before the end of this year," the source added. In parallel, the actor is also in touch with his frequent collaborator Kabir Khan. 'The duo is jamming on multiple ideas, and have a definite intent to collaborate. The discussions are happening across genres—from stylish action thrillers to high-octane dramas, and of course, the much-anticipated Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel," the insider revealed. What's piquing fans' curiosity is the unique tone and setting of Mahesh's proposed film. 'It's a character in a world that Salman has not explored before. The things look positive at the moment for this collaboration," the source concluded. If things go as planned, Salman will wrap up Galwan by November or December 2025, and Mahesh Narayanan is expected to finish his Malayalam commitments in parallel. The two could come together for this exciting new project in 2026. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
