Freddie Prinze Jr. lifts lid on Sarah Michelle Gellar's secret cameo

Freddie Prinze Jr. is "glad" he was able to keep quiet about Sarah Michelle Gellar's secret cameo appearance in I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The actor returned for the new sequel almost 30 years after he starred in the original 1997 slasher opposite his wife Sarah and film fans initially thought the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star would be unable to join him onscreen because her character met an untimely end in the first film. However, it has since been revealed Sarah's beauty queen alter-ego Helen returned for a dream sequence and Freddie was thrilled to have been able to keep it secret until the movie hit cinemas.
Freddie told PEOPLE he "knew from jump" that Sarah would be in the new film, adding: "We were all really excited for audiences to get to see that and get a little bit of extra love that they weren't expecting.
"It's nice to know a secret, and to know how well-received it's going to be, months and months before it ever goes out there.
"To hear the reaction that people have had, because I know some other people that have seen it, they're all like: 'Oh, my God, you didn't tell me! That was the best.'
"I'm like, 'Yeah, it was the best one. Everybody always loves her.' To give people another taste of that, I just think was awesome. I'm glad everyone made it happen."
The new film's director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson admitted she always wanted her pal Sarah to make a surprise appearance, and they even had the costume department recreate the beauty queen tiara the actress wore in the first film.
Robinson told the publication: "As a super fan of this franchise, I was never not going to put [Sarah's character] Helen Shivers in the movie. And I didn't lie - she is dead ...
"I'm so excited about the results. I feel like it's just so fun. We recreated the Croaker Queen crown. That is an exact replica of the crown from the original movie. I really went for it in trying to create this David Lynch-y Helen Shivers dream sequence."

The siblings behind Via Porta open an Italian-inspired cafe in Melbourne's leafy north-east

Previous SlideNext Slide Cafe$$$$ The latest venue by siblings Sarah, Simon, Ryan and Jonathan Cosentino (Via Porta) has opened on a quiet strip of shops on Waterdale Road in Ivanhoe. Its name honours their mother, Lucia, who instilled in them a love of food and hospitality. But it also translates to 'light' in their native Italian. The warm and welcoming eatery with its large open kitchen is inspired by the Cosentinos' upbringing, including the homely pastas that graced the family table. The menu includes a punchy puttanesca and 'nonna's' bolognese. But there are also fresh ideas on show. Chicken schnitzel showered in parmesan comes with a sidecar of vodka-tomato sauce. Ricotta hotcakes served with maple syrup, mascarpone and blueberry compote are 'like a hybrid between your standard pancake and your Japanese pancake'. A few Via Porta favourites are also in the mix. There are fried eggs in spicy all'arrabbiata-inspired sugo; crab spaghetti with fermented chilli and lemon crumb; and doorstopper French toast, made of croissant dough that's baked in a loaf tin then topped with poached pears, almond brittle, caramel sauce and creme anglaise.

Bella Kidman Cruise returns to social media with cryptic post weeks after Nicole's low-key visit to London

Bella Kidman Cruise has shared a rare social media update just weeks after her world-famous mother Nicole Kidman made a quick trip to London. UK-based Bella works as a visual artist in the English capital but is understood to be somewhat estranged from her adopted mother Nicole and father Tom Cruise. Meanwhile, Nicole regularly shares family snaps with Bella's half-sisters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, from the Oscar winner's second marriage to Keith Urban. In recent months, Bella was noticeably absent from both a mother's day tribute by Nicole and a group photo of all the Kidman family women taken at the movie star's Nashville mansion. Bella also shares another half-sister, Suri Cruise, from Tom's third marriage to actress Katie Holmes. On Wednesday, Cruise posted a cryptic Instagram story showing images of two women's faces spliced together without a caption, marking her first social media update in months. In 2015, UK-based Bella married British I.T. consultant Max Parker but neither of her famous parents attended the nuptials. Nevertheless, Cruise reportedly helped pay for the event, while a Kidman source told People that Nicole was "very happy for Bella." Nicole was recently in London to appear at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and attended the men's singles final with newly retired Vogue editor Anna Wintour. It is understood Bella, 32, lives in the English capital with her husband but it is unclear if she saw her movie star mother or country star stepfather during the brief visit. Meanwhile, Nicole's only son Connor, 30, lives in Clearwater, Florida, a small city closely associated with the Scientology community. The Aussie movie star has not been photographed with her two elder children in more than 15 years and typically declines to discuss them in interviews out of respect of their religious beliefs. Tom and Nicole married in a private Christmas Eve ceremony in 1990, less than a year after he finalised his divorce from actress Mimi Rogers. The pair were married for 11 years and adopted Bella in 1992 and Connor in 1995 before separating in 2001. Kidman, 58, and Cruise, 63, were reportedly given joint custody of Bella and her younger brother Connor in the divorce. However, the adopted children, who are devout Scientologists like Cruise, opted to live with their father.
