All-Party Delegation pays tribute at 9/11 memorial in New York
The delegation aimed to show solidarity with the US in their stance against terrorism.
In a post on X, India's Consulate in New York said, 'The All-Party Delegation from India, led by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, visited the National September 11 Memorial in New York. The delegation solemnly paid tribute to the innocent lives lost in the tragic 9/11 attacks and reaffirmed India's unwavering solidarity in the global fight against terrorism.'

Earlier in the day, the delegation was welcomed by Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra.
In a post on X, the embassy said, 'Carrying forth to the world India's strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism! All-Party Delegation, led by Dr. Shashi Tharoor welcomed by Amb. Vinay Mohan Kwatra in New York.'

Tharoor said that the visit of their delegation to the 9/11 memorial symbolizes solidarity with the US in its fight against terrorism.
Tharoor while talking to ANI said that just as the US suffered the consequences of terrorism, India is still going through the same.
'Look, we went to the Memorial of September 11 to send a message that New York also suffered due to the issue of terrorists twenty years ago, this is our experience as well. We want them to understand that solidarity is essential in this matter,' he said.
Tharoor said that the delegation wanted to convey to the US that if India is subjected to terrorism, it will take action. He also said that his delegation answered the questions put forth by the audience because it is imperative that the world knows India's stance.
'We are all together in this and we too should show a resolution to the world like America that we are absolutely against this kind of terrorist attack and we will take action. And if we remain empowered, all these were very important I think,' he told ANI.
The all-party delegation to United States, Guyana, Panama, Brazil, and Colombia led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor comprises of Shambhavi Chaudhary (Lok Janshakti Party), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), G M Harish Balayagi (Telugu Desam Party), Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejaswi Surya, Bhubaneswar K Lata (all from BJP), Mallikarjun Devda (Shiv Sena) and Former Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
The delegation will project India's national consensus and firm stance on combating terrorism in all its forms. They will carry India's strong message of zero tolerance against terrorism to the global community during their outreach. (ANI)

Resignation rumours swirl, Goa environment minister Aleixo Sequeira says: ‘Some truth… toying with the idea'
Amid rumours that he is set to resign from the Goa cabinet, Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira on Wednesday acknowledged there was 'some truth' to the reports which suggested that he will tender his resignation due to 'personal reasons'. Sequeira, who is also holding Law and Judiciary, Legislative Affairs and Captain of Ports portfolios, told the media, 'There is some truth, but I am yet to submit the resignation. I am toying with the idea, but I am yet to take a final decision.' On the reasons for his resignation, if and when it happens, he said, 'Basically personal reasons.' Party sources said Sequeira could submit his resignation to the Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant later on Wednesday. In case of his exit, two cabinet berths will fall vacant, paving the way for a cabinet reshuffle in the coastal state. In June, former Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude was dropped from the cabinet after he levelled corruption allegations in the department of Tribal Welfare, a portfolio held by Sawant. If he steps down, Sequeira is likely to be replaced in the cabinet by the former chief minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat. Sequeira and Kamat were among the group of eight turncoat MLAs who switched over to the BJP in September 2022. Sources said the Speaker of the Goa legislative assembly, Ramesh Tawadkar, is also expected to be inducted in the cabinet. Tawadkar, a senior tribal leader, is likely to resign from the Speaker's post on Thursday, according to party sources. Sawant, who is in Delhi for a meeting of the group of state ministers (GoM) on GST-related issues, is expected to return to the state late on Wednesday or Thursday. Speculations about a cabinet rejig in the state have been rife for several months. Last week, BJP state president Damodar 'Damu' Naik hinted at the possibility, saying the reshuffle could take place before the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. This would be the second reshuffle in the Sawant-led government since the BJP retained power and formed the government in the 2022 assembly elections. NCERT introduces two supplementary modules on Operation Sindoor for Class 3 to Class 12
The National Council of Educational Research and Training on Tuesday introduced two new supplementary modules on Operation Sindoor for students from Class 3 to Class 12, The Indian Express reported. These modules are not part of the standard textbooks but are meant to be used as additional resources. The NCERT is an educational body that advises the Union government on school syllabi. The modules claim that the terror attack on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam was 'directly ordered by Pakistan's military and political leadership', which in turn prompted the Indian Armed forces to launch Operation Sindoor. The modules further add that the Indian Air Force 'took out command and control centres, radars, surface-to-air guided weapons, runways, and hangars with aircraft' during Operation Sindoor, breaching Pakistan's air defence and 'creating visible gaps that the world saw'. The passages also note that the name 'Operation Sindoor' was given as a mark of respect for the widows of those killed in the April 22 terror attack, ANI reported. The two modules are titled 'Operation Sindoor - A Saga of Valour' for students in Class 3 to Class 8 and 'Operation Sindoor - A Mission of Honour and Bravery' for students in Class 9 to Class 12. In May, the Uttarakhand Madarsa Education Board had said that it would include Operation Sindoor in the state's madrasa curriculum. Tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad escalated on May 7 when the Indian military carried out strikes – codenamed Operation Sindoor – on what it claimed were terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The strikes were in response to the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which killed 26 persons on April 22. The Pakistan Army retaliated to Indian strikes by repeatedly shelling Indian villages along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
