'No honey, no trap': Maharashtra CM Fadnavis dismisses Opposition's claims
Speaking in the Assembly, he asked the opposition and Congress legislator Nana Patole to come with concrete proof and solid information to corner the government. He reiterated that there was no honeytrap scandal.
CM Fadnavis said that a complaint was filed by a woman against deputy collector in Nashik but the complainant has thereafter withdrawn it.
Referring to Patole's repeated reference about the Hotel owner allegedly involved in hatching the trap and blackmail the victims, CM Fadnavis displayed a 'relevant paper' in the House, saying that the hotel owner in question is a local Congress unit chief.
He thereby put the ball in the Congress party's court.
CM Fadnavis said that Maharashtra is cultured state and there is no threat to it. 'However, those who are poisoning the atmosphere need to be controlled."
Earlier, Patole on Wednesday and Thursday raked up the Honeytrap scandal issue in the state assembly.
CM's statement denying honey trap scandal was in the wake of Speaker's directive.
Patole raised the Honeytrap scandal targeting Maharashtra's high ranking officers and politicians and displayed a pen drive. Patole, who is a former assembly Speaker, did not stop there but said he is ready to show the content in the pen drive to the government.
Patole warned that it would be detrimental to the state if the confidential and sensitive information has been leaked during the Honeytrap scandal.
'Through honey trap, important documents of the state are in the hands of anti-social elements. I do not want to defame anyone. But the government is not serious about all this. The government is not ready to give even a simple statement,' he said.
'More than 72 officials and some ministers of the state have been caught in the net of honeytrap. Confidential information is being collected from the honeytrappers. Also, some officials have been blackmailed and have thought of extreme things like suicide. The government is not ready to say anything on this. That is why I raised this issue in the Legislative Assembly," said Patole.
He also expressed serious displeasure over state government's reluctance to make statement explaining what action has been taken in this case. He brought to the Speaker's notice that despite his directive the government has not made any statement on Thursday. Patole urged the Speaker to give strong directives to immediately make a statement.
NCP-SP legislator Jayant Patil had said that the Nashik honey trap case is a serious one. He also demanded that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister make statements on all these cases.

INDIA Bloc Virtual Meeting The attendees of the INDIA bloc virtual meet included Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Senior Leader Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray. Other leaders who attended the meeting were: Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), Ramgopal Yadav (Samajwadi Party), D Raja (CPI), and Tiruchi Siva (DMK). Briefing reporters on the meeting, Congress leader and Deputy LoP in Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari said, 'The meeting discussed issues related to the people of the country that we will raise during the monsoon session.' Here are the key points the INDIA bloc intends to raise in Parliament's Monsoon Session: 1- Pahalgam And Operation Sindoor He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should respond to the concerns of members about the Pahalgam terror attack and their queries concerning Operation Sindoor. The Indian Armed Forces had launched precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) during the wee hours of May 7 to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. India subsequently repelled subsequent Pakistani aggression and pounded its airbases. New Delhi and Islamabad had agreed to a ceasefire after Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called his Indian counterpart. 2- Trump's Ceasefire Mediation Claims Tiwari also referred to repeated remarks of US President Donald Trump about brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He emphasised that the members expressed concern over the repeated claims made by US President Donald Trump that he mediated the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said Trump has so far made the claims 24 times. 3- Bihar Voter Roll Revision The Congress leader also said that the INDIA parties expressed their concern over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar. He said it was felt that there was an undeclared Emergency during which voters' names were being removed from the list. 4- Centre's Foreign Policy He said that the government's foreign policy stances require a lot of answers, and there was concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. 'Where is the Prime Minister's leadership on Pakistan, China, and Gaza? If we treat these as key national issues, the PM must answer in Parliament,' he said, as per IANS. 5- Air India Ahmedabad Plane Crash "We will also seek answers on many other important issues, including the Ahmedabad plane accident," Tiwari added. 6- According to the Congress Leader, other issues that the INDIA bloc plans to raise in the Monsoon session include delimitation, atrocities on Dalits, STs, and women. He added that a physical meeting of the INDIA group will also be held shortly. Tiwari said opposition parties want the Parliament to work smoothly, and the government should answer their concerns. Bills On Mosoon Session's Agenda As per ANI, the bills on the agenda of the government include: Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill of 2025, Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill of 2025, Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2025, the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill 2025, the Geoheritage Sites and Geo-relics (Preservation and Maintenance) Bill 2025, the Mines and Mines (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2025, the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill 2025. Pahalgam, ceasefire to Bihar SIR: INDIA bloc lines up issues to target Govt, projects unity
Showcasing unity on the eve of the Parliament's Monsoon Session, the Opposition INDIA bloc on Saturday held a virtual meeting of 24 of its constituents, reaching a consensus on eight major issues that they plan to raise during the month-long session, which include the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, ceasefire announcement by US President Donald Trump, India's foreign policy, and the Election Commission (EC)'s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. These issues will be 'raised in one voice' by the Opposition parties in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the bloc said, hoping that when the Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor and related issues are discussed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Parliament to answer various questions. The Opposition alliance also said it would soon hold a physical meeting of its leaders. The virtual meeting was attended by Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, K C Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh of the Congress; Samajwadi Party's Ram Gopal Yadav; TMC's Abhishek Banerjee; Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut; NCP(SP)'s Sharad Pawar and Jayant Patil; National Conference's Omar Abdullah; JMM's Hemant Soren; RJD's Tejashwi Yadav; and DMK's Tiruchi N Siva. The CPI, CPI(M) and CPI(ML) Liberation were represented by D Raja, M A Baby, and Dipankar Bhattacharya respectively. Kerala Congress (M) MP Jose K Mani, RSP's N K Premachandran, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi's Thirumavalavan and IUML's K M Kader Mohideen also attended the meeting. Addressing the media after the meeting, the Congress's deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari, said, 'Injustices and failures of this government have affected 140 crore Indians. At the meeting, we strategised to raise these issues during the Monsoon Session. I am happy to say that almost all 24 parties, their leaders took part in the meeting. We have received several suggestions. There are eight issues which were discussed prominently. This doesn't mean that these are our only issues; other issues would also be raised.' He said 'all parties are on the same page' that the Pahalgam attack is one issue the bloc would focus on since it 'directly affects the self-respect of 140 crore Indians'. 'It is an issue which saw maximum worry. That despite so much time having passed, those who left our sisters widowed, the terrorists have disappeared. Now, there has been a confession that it was an intelligence failure, and that the government couldn't give security there.' Tiwari said when 'Operation Sindoor is discussed, the ceasefire also has to be discussed and then Mr Trump's claims regarding it 24 times – that he brokered the ceasefire between India and Pakistan by using trade. And our PM has still remained silent'. The Congress leader said another issue of major concern that the Opposition will raise strongly during the session is the Bihar SIR. 'Under SIR, democracy is being murdered with 'votebandi' done after 'notebandi'… Names are being struck off from the rolls and added based on BJP's preferences by the EC,' he alleged. 'There is a threat to voting rights under this undeclared emergency.' Another issue flagged by the alliance was the government's 'foreign policy failures', with Tiwari saying that 'The government's foreign policy towards Pakistan and China are worrying'. He added that 'the atrocities in Gaza would also be raised'. 'Some members also raised the issue of delimitation, which we will include in our agenda during the session. The issue of atrocities on SCs, STs, women, minorities is also an important one,' he said, adding that the Ahmedabad plane crash would also be taken up by the Opposition members. Tiwari side-stepped the question about the AAP skipping the meeting, with AAP leader Sanjay Singh having already said Friday that his party was no longer part of the INDIA bloc. 'We want Parliament to run and the government to answer our questions, reflecting democracy,' said Tiwari. Sources said during the meeting D Raja obliquely objected to Rahul Gandhi's remarks that he made during a meeting in Kerala's Kottayam Friday that he was 'fighting both the RSS and the CPI(M) ideologically'. Raja was said to have commented that the bloc's leaders should 'have a limit' while criticising each other. Another source said that Pawar, Uddhav and Ram Gopal Yadav suggested that the bloc's meetings be held periodically and not after such long gaps. Saturday's meeting was the bloc's first meeting outside Parliament in over a year. Its last formal meeting was held on June 5 last year – a day after the Lok Sabha election results were announced. At that meeting, 21 parties were in attendance, including the AAP. The Monsoon session, starting on July 21, will conclude on August 21. This is going to be the first session since April 22 Pahalgam attack, in which 25 tourists and a local ponywallah were killed. Subsequently, Operation Sindoor was conducted by the Indian armed forces in Pakistan against terror emanating from that country. Top Opposition leaders, including Kharge and Rahul, have then demanded a special session of Parliament to discuss these developments. A source said Omar Abdullah appealed to the alliance's leaders to raise the issue of restoration of Jammu and Kashmir statehood in both the Houses. 'The meeting decided that along with Pahalgam security lapses, J&K statehood could also be raised,' the source added.

The video, which was posted with background music, also showed one of Kirsh's friends saying, 'Koi taqleef hai to batayiye, mantri ji ke bete aaye hue hain, bade bete (If there's any issue, please speak up. The minister's son is here, the elder son).' The video sparked a controversy, with Opposition parties in the state questioning the authority of the minister's son to conduct such inspections in hospitals. BJP spokesperson Ajay Sah said that instead of focusing on health infrastructure, the son of Jharkhand's Health Minister was more concerned with shooting a reel. 'Are we now to believe that the children of health ministers will conduct hospital inspections? Will the children of finance ministers start reviewing government files? Will the children of home ministers begin registering FIRs at police stations?' he asked. Sah said that rather than reprimanding his son or showing him the right path, the minister has chosen to justify the incident, and that this allegedly showed that his son acted with the full approval of the minister. Calling Krish 'an educated and sensitive young student currently on vacation', the minister said public service runs in the family. 'He is the grandson of former MP Furkan Ansari, who contributed to the Jharkhand statehood movement. It should not surprise anyone that he would be naturally inclined to help others,' Ansari said. 'Krish keeps asking me, 'Papa, is it a crime to help people?' This question breaks me from within. My son has not committed any crime, nor has he acted out of arrogance or power. He saw someone in distress and tried to help,' the minister said. He appealed for sensitivity in public discourse and urged people to 'remove the lens of politics' when assessing the situation. 'This is an insult to a young man's empathy. If we start vilifying every hand raised in help, what direction are we taking our society in?' Despite the controversy, Ansari said Krish remains undeterred. 'He may be heartbroken, but his resolve to serve others remains strong,' he said.
