
Two waste pickers overcome ‘anpadh' taunt to study and scale wall

Pune: Priyanka Kamble and Komal Gaikwad, hurt at being called "anpadh" (uneducated), on Tuesday rewrote not just their academic history, but also their sense of self-worth when they cleared the SSC exam.Both women are waste pickers in Pune and were regularly taunted by in-laws for not having gone to school.
"Their words kept ringing in my ears. I wanted to prove them wrong," said 27-year-old Kamble, a member of SWaCH cooperative, who was pulled out of school after Std III. After marriage, she moved to her in-laws' home in Solapur. "They would call me 'anpadh' and humiliate me. There were constant fights. I left their house and came to Pune to earn and live with dignity."She enrolled at Ramabai Ranade School in 2022. She would collect waste in the morning, cook lunch for her son, and reach school by 2pm. " Teachers supported me even when I used to be late because of work," she said.She scored 48% and her husband called to congratulate her. "He told me to distribute sweets. Residents from the area where I work congratulated me," Kamble said. She now dreams of becoming an anganwadi sevika.Komal Gaikwad, 26, a single mother from Dandekar Pul Vasti, had never stepped inside a classroom. "I got married at 20 and was constantly mocked by my in-laws for my lack of schooling," she said. When her husband died during the Covid pandemic, she was pregnant with her second child and had to start earning."My in-laws said that because I was uneducated, I will not get be able to earn. But I wanted a better future for my children. I had to lead by example," she said.She enrolled in a night school and scored 58% in her SSC exam. "My daughter, who is in Std V now, is beaming with pride when I got my results. I want to continue my education and join junior college. My teachers will guide me, and I'll keep going," Gaikwad added.

The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC SI Paper 2 Final Answer key 2024. Candidates who took the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination, 2024 can check and download the final answer key from the official website of SSC at SSC SI Paper 2 Final Answer Key 2024 is out at The direct link to check is given here. Along with the final answer key, the commission has also released the candidates' response sheet. Both documents will be available for download till August 29, 2025 up to 6 PM. The official notice reads, 'Candidates may check their individual Final Answer Key(s) along with Candidates' Response Sheet(s) from 14.08.2025 (06:00PM) to 29.08.2025 (06:00PM) by logging-in through their Registered ID and Password on the Login link given below.' The commission further stated that the candidates can take a printout of their respective Final Answer Key along with Candidates' Response Sheet as the same will not be available after the deadline. Further, as per the commission, the marks of the qualified/non-qualified candidates will be made available on the SSC website shortly. Worth mentioning here, the SSC SI Paper 2 Result 2024 was declared on August 8, 2025. The Paper 2 examination was conducted on March 8, 2025. The Paper-II for additional 59 candidates was conducted on April 30, 2025. SSC OTR Correction 2025 Window opens at ssc.gov.in; edit form by 31 August
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) today, August 14, opened the rectification window for its One-Time Registration (OTR) forms. Candidates planning to apply for upcoming SSC exams, including CPO and GD Constable, can now edit or update their details. The facility will remain open until August 31, 2025, after which no further modification requests will be accepted. SSC OTR Correction 2025: Official statement Candidates can change their Aadhaar biometric information by using the OTR edit feature. Since SSC registrations for 2025 are now Aadhaar-enabled, candidates would not be able to complete online applications without updating their information. SSC stated in the official notice, 'All the candidates are hereby informed that the edit OTR facility will be available from 14.08.2025 to 31.08.2025. Candidates who wish to modify/ correct their details are advised to utilise the said facility within the applicable time duration. Details once submitted will be considered for future examinations, and the candidates will not be permitted to edit OTR details beyond the aforementioned window.'
