Russia's state-owned defense company United Aircraft Corporation has announced that it will hand over 100 percent source code of the SU-57 fighter jet to the Indian Defense Ministry. Apart from this, the Russian company has said that after getting the source code, India will have full rights over the SU-57 and it can make any kind of modification in the fighter jet as per its wish, integrate any kind of indigenous weapon and make it fully operational as per its wish.
Russia has also said that if India wants, it can also integrate weapons made in any third country in this fighter jet. Notably, France has almost refused to hand over the source code of the Rafale fighter aircraft to India. After which India is not able to integrate its indigenous missiles, such as Brahmos, in Rafale. That is why India has integrated Brahmos in the Russian origin fighter aircraft Su-30Mki. Whereas India wants to install indigenous weapons in the state-of-the-art aircraft Rafale, so that India's attacking capability increases tremendously. However, India is yet to decide on the offer.
The source code of fifth generation fighter jets is considered extremely sensitive. This is because, firstly, these are the most advanced fighter jets and more importantly, this opens the way for making sixth generation fighter jets. In fifth generation fighter jets, software is a much more central part of their capabilities. This is why the US F-35 has more than 10 million lines of software code and the Chinese J-20 and FC-31 are also estimated to have similar extremely difficult code.
Although the code of the Su-57 is considered slightly easier than these, it is still much more complex than the old American F-22. For this reason, if Russia is offering to hand over the complete software code of the fifth generation fighter jet, then this is an unprecedented event. This decision also shows how much Russia trusts India as a strategic partner.

CRPF personnel made a mark by their duty, courage, says PM on Raising Day
NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Sunday complimented the CRPF for playing a vital role in the national security apparatus, especially in challenging aspects relating to internal security. The secretary emphasised that the MHA would deploy technology to minimise the risk of injury in risky operations. "In the coming days, we will have drones that can see through thick foliage in the mountains etc, weapons that can be fired from a safe range and technology to remotely detect and defuse IEDs," he said. Personnel who lose a limb in operations would be retained in the force, possibly in an alternative role, and limb replacement facilitated wherever there is scope, he said at the event with CRPF DG G P Singh by his side. Celebrating Bundelkhand's historical legacy, he said: "These forts are not just bricks and stones, but a symbol of our culture, pride and values." Evoking national pride, Modi made a special mention of the Kalinjar Fort located on the Vindhya mountain range in Banda district, explaining how Mahmud of Ghazni attacked it multiple times, but was unsuccessful in capturing it. "Kalinjar Fort in Banda, Uttar Pradesh — Mahmud Ghaznavi attacked this fort many times and failed every time," he said. The PM named Gwalior, Jhansi, Datia, Ajaygarh, Garhkundar, and Chanderi as symbols of cultural resilience. "These forts are not just bricks and stones; they are symbols of our heritage. Sanskar and self-respect still peep from the high walls of these forts," he added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi soaks in spiritual experience on his visit to Gangaikonda Cholapuram
The spirit of bakthi hung in the air and Prime Minister Narendra Modi soaked in the spiritual experience during his more than two-hour visit to the Brihadisvara temple in Gangaikonda Cholapuram on Sunday. Sporting a traditional Tamil attire of white dhoti (veshti) and half-sleeve shirt with an angavastram (upper cloth), Mr. Modi offered prayers at the Shiva temple built by Rajendra Chola I, which is famous for its imposing architecture and exquisite sculptures. He was received with poorna kumbam honours. He performed aarathi to the presiding deity. Devotional renderings by maestro Ilaiyaraaja and a group of Odhuvars were held. The Odhuvars rendered the Thevaram hymns in praise of Lord Shiva, Thodudaiya Seviyan, Pithaa Piraisoodi Perumaney, and Muthaitharu Pathith Thirunagai from the Thirupugazh in praise of Lord Murugan. This was followed by the performance of the troupe led by Mr. Ilaiyaraaja. Singer Madhu Balakrishnan rendered the Om Sivahom. The maestro with his mesmerising voice rendered the Namah Shivaya Vaazhga Naadhanthaal Vaazhga and Poovar Senni Mannan of Saint Manickavasagar. The performances drew standing ovations from the Prime Minister. Moved by the spiritual atmosphere, Mr. Modi acknowledged it while speaking at the valedictory of the Aadi Thiruvathirai festival at the temple complex. Greeting the audience with 'Vanakkam Cholamandalam' (salutations to the Chola region), Mr. Modi appreciated the performances of Mr. Ilaiyaraaja and the Odhuvars. He handed over a pot of Ganga water from Kasi to the Sivachariars at the temple. The celebration of Ganga in the land of the Cauvery is also a legacy of the Chola Empire, he observed, and expressed happiness that he had once again brought Ganga water to Tamil Nadu. He viewed a thematic photo exhibition on 'Saiva Siddhanta and Chola Temple Arts', put up by the Union Ministry of Culture. Impressed by the achievements of the Cholas, he urged the people to visit the exhibition without fail. Mr. Modi released a Tamil musical album on Bhagavad Gita brought out by Chinmaya Mission and a publication on Thevaram brought out by Sahitya Akademi. He also held a roadshow on the way to the temple.
