Virginia Cavaliers bobblehead commemorates 2019 basketball national championship
The bobblehead features Virginia's mascot, Cavman, standing on an actual piece of the court that Virginia played on when it won the 2019 Men's Basketball National Championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 8, 2019.

The release is in conjunction with the conclusion of the 2024-25 college basketball season and this week's anniversary of the national championship.
The bobbleheads will be available exclusively in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum online store at store.bobblehead.com. The bobbleheads are expected to ship in October.
Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to only 319. The bobbleheads are $100 each plus an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order.
Suited up in a uniform and giving the No. 1 sign while holding a basketball with the school logo, the Cavman bobblehead is standing on an authentic game-used piece of basketball court from the Final Four where the Cavaliers won the 2019 NCAA title. The court base also features Virginia's logo and details about Virginia's first Men's Basketball National Championship.

Virginia won its first men's basketball national championship with an 85-77 overtime victory over second-seeded Texas Tech in the championship game before a crowd of 72,062 on April 8, 2019.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is offering a bobblehead to commemorate the University of Virginia's 2019 men's basketball national championship.
De'Andre Hunter scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Kyle Guy, who was named the tourney's Most Outstanding Player, scored 24 points. Virginia finished 34-3 overall.
Playing in their first Final Four since 1984, the Cavaliers advanced to the final with a 63-62 victory over Auburn. Virginia beat Gardner-Webb, 71-56, in the first round and Oklahoma, 63-51, in the second round. The Cavaliers then outlasted Oregon, 53-49, in the Sweet 16, and beat Purdue in overtime, 80-75, in the Elite Eight.

Other schools featured in the series are the Baylor Bears, Kansas Jayhawks, North Carolina Tar Heels, and LSU Tigers.

Each bobblehead stands on an authentic piece of the championship court supplied by Cincinnati based Artsman, a company that creates handcrafted artifacts from game-used elements of sports history including the Men's and Women's College Basketball National Championship games.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on Feb. 1, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.

Michigan Lands Commitment From Top RB Prospect Savion Hiter
The Michigan Wolverines are already having a better week than their last one, as they secured a 2026 commitment from five-star running back prospect Savion Hiter. Hiter announced his commitment to Michigan at his high school, Louisa County High in Virginia. He chose the Wolverines over Tennessee, Georgia and Michigan's chief rival, Ohio State. Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and running backs coach Tony Alford – who was previously Ohio State's running back coach from 2015-23 – were "instrumental" in getting Hiter to commit to Michigan instead of Tennessee, according to ESPN. The 5-foot-11 back weighs in at 200 pounds and is the No. 1 running back prospect in the country, as well as the top player in Virginia, according to 247Sports. Hiter is viewed as a potential NFL player who thrives while running inside or outside, per 247Sports. As he heads into his senior season at Louisa County High School, Hiter has already proven to be a force in the backfield. He rushed for 1,698 yards and 26 rushing touchdowns on 156 carries in the 2024 season with another 199 receiving yards on top of that, following a transfer from Woodberry Forest High School, where he played in 2023. Notre Dame's Niele Ivey tweaks coaching staff, promotes Carlos Knox to assistant coach
Coming off her fourth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance, Notre Dame women's head basketball coach Niele Ivey made a tweak to her coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season. After two successful years as director of player personnel for the program, Carlos Knox has been promoted to assistant coach ahead of his third season in South Bend. Knox has been praised for helping develop many of ND's student-athletes, including 2025 WNBA Draft picks Liatu King and Maddy Westbeld. Last season, King broke the Notre Dame single-season record for rebounds per game (10.4) and was named to the all-ACC second team. The previous year, Westbeld was one of four players in the ACC to average at least 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds. Before his time in South Bend, Knox worked almost a decade with the Indiana Fever in multiple roles and helped lead the team to eight consecutive WNBA playoff appearances, including the 2012 WNBA championship. Knox was a two-time NCAA scoring champion, NCAA All-American and NCAA Player of the Year for IUPUI. After college, he played for the Indiana Pacers from 1998-99 and played overseas in Croatia, Germany, Venezuela and Italy. He has also been a head coach in the International Basketball League, Continental Basketball Association and American Basketball Association.
