Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College celebrates 25th annual day

Around 9,000 students took part in Celestia'25, a two-day cultural event, hosted by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College as a part of its 25th annual day celebrations.
Music composer Santhosh Narayanan and actress and model Priety Mukhundhan were invited as the chief guests at the launch of this event, a college press note said.
The event featured a concert by music director Antony Dasan along with playback singers Sridhar Sena and Priya Jerson. Popular YouTuber VJ Siddhu and choreographer Sherif were also engaged with the students during the event. The other highlights of the event were the release of a documentary by the college to commemorate its 25th year and a drone show.
Prizes were given to the students who participated in various cultural competitions, and an art show was organized by the cultural committee of the college for UG and PG students of all departments.
V.S.K Venkatachalapathy, College Director Cum Principal opened the event in the presence of M. Dhanasekaran, Chancellor of Takshasheela University and Chairman and Managing Director of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust, K. Narayanasamy, Secretary and D. Rajarajan, treasurer.
S. Malarkan, Principal of Manakula Vinayakar Institute of Technology, other office-bearers including S. Velayutham, Vaishnavi Rajarajan, Nila Priyadarshini, and V. Suriyakumar, and S Senthil, Director of Mailam College of Engineering, Controller of Examinations of the college, Deans, Heads of Departments, professors and students participated in the annual day events.

A global reunion of former students, Rigama-25, was held at the Mavelikara Bishop Moore College on Saturday. The global meet, organised under the aegis of Mavelikara Bishop Moore College Alumni Association as part of the college's diamond jubilee celebrations, was inaugurated by Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, vice-chairperson of Mata Amritanandamayi Math and an alumnus of the college. Bishop Moore College manager and CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese Bishop Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, Culture Minister Saji Cherian, filmmaker Kamal, MLAs M.S. Arunkumar and Pramod Narayanan, Bishop Moore College Principal Ranjith Mathew Abraham, global meet chairperson K.G. Mukundan and others spoke on the occasion. Following the inauguration, meetings with former teachers (Mitra Sathram) were held in various classrooms, while cultural programmes (Kalikkootam) took place at the auditorium. A Rangapooja by college students was held in the afternoon. It was followed by a group dance by teachers, dances by Anjana P., Gatha Murali, and Ayona Ann Sebastian, a Kathakali performance by Meenakshi V. Nair, and a monodrama 'Kanakku Naarapilla' by Alex Vallikunnam. The day concluded with a musical concert (Rigama Sarigama) featuring distinguished alumni from different periods.

Arunkumar and Pramod Narayanan, Bishop Moore College Principal Ranjith Mathew Abraham, meet chairman K.G. Mukundan and others will speak. From 11.30 a.m., meetings with former teachers (Mitra Sathram) will be held in various classrooms, while cultural programmes (Kalikkootam) will take place at the auditorium. A Rangapuja by college students will be held at 2 p.m. It will be followed by a group dance by teachers, dances by Anjana P., Gatha Murali, and Ayona Ann Sebastian, a Kathakali performance by Meenakshi V. Nair, and the monodrama Kanakku Naarapilla by Alex Vallikunnam. A musical concert (Rigama Sarigama) featuring 15 distinguished alumni from different periods will be staged at 4 p.m.
