E& Beach Canteen to make its much anticipated return

Running from 27 March to 13 April 2025 at Nessnass Beach in Dubai, e& Beach Canteen unites the city's most popular street food favourites, daily from 4pm to midnight
Featuring international food vendors for the first time in addition to local brands, F&B concepts include The Knot Churros, Brooki and Pastasole
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The e& Beach Canteen, Dubai's favourite beachside dining popup, is returning to Nessnass, Jumeirah Beach from 27 March until 13 April and will bring together Dubai's most sought after gastronomy vendors in one place, alongside entertainment and lifestyle experiences.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the immersive event activation aims to unite the community through a range of fun activities which are catered to all tastes. Open daily from 4pm to midnight and free to enter, visitors to e& Beach Canteen can take advantage of the array of workshops, live performances and interactive zones all while enjoying a variety of food, including pizza, tacos, bagels, coffee and Korean snacks.
Presented by e& and DFRE, the 18-day event is held in partnership with Brag, AW Rostamani Group, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Emarat, Heinz and talabat.

F&B Concepts
Underscoring Dubai's attraction to international brands, the event will welcome Brooki, the viral TikTok chunky cookie sensation's owner, Brooke Bellamy who will attend e& Beach Canteen between 31 March and 5 April from 7-10pm, as well as The Knot Churros, the London-based viral churros restaurant to give visitors the chance to try the world's first churros and milkshake cotton candy combo for a limited time. Other international concepts include Pastasole and its dishes where true Italian pasta meets the energy of Manhattan, while local brands include Humm Crumbs and its custard crumble bowls, as well as ChaCha Matcha, and its matcha flavoured desserts.
Emirati brands are also in the spotlight with trending bakery, Bageri Form and beloved tea spot Project Chaiwala on offer for visitors to enjoy.
The full list of vendors includes Bagel Bar, Coco Club, Back to Roots, Freedom Pizza, Potaters, Boba Bae, Drip Burgers, Vietnamese Foodies, JT Burger, Sausage Saloon, Meokja, Acai Hub, Flave DXB, S.Y.O.T.G, House of Pops, Haribo, The Exile, Local Coffee House, La Morita, Sweet Dee's Jerk, La Sauce Entrecote (LSE), Pita & Co, Crème UAE and Midori.

The event includes non-stop live performances at the e& stage in addition to partner-led zones which feature activities to keep everyone entertained. On the first night of Eid Al-Fitr, there will be a series of breathtaking fireworks on the beach adding to the celebratory atmosphere, as well as live Emirati cooking throughout.
The dedicated talabat Food Plaza is home to multiple popular food brands and interactive experiences, while the Nissan Go Epic Zone combines automobiles and gastronomy, featuring a variety of food kiosks and containers.

On select days, special quiz sessions will be hosted by renowned presenter Priti Malik, adding an extra layer of excitement.
Festival-goers can also try their luck at the CBD Claw Machine, packed with beach-ready giveaways, enjoy complimentary fresh popcorn, and explore the vibrant setup featuring beach props—perfect for capturing fun photo moments against a stunning backdrop.

A collaboration with Michelin-recognised Dubai-based chefs sees the first edition of the e& Beach Canteen Chef's Table, an intimate experiential dining concept hosted by chefs from 21 Grams on 31 March, BRIX on 1 April, Ryba on 2 April, JUNS on 7 April and 3 Fils on 8 April. Guests can enjoy specially crafted plates in an interactive and personalised setting. Bookings will be open soon with information to be announced on @beachcanteenofficial.
With a packed schedule of workshops throughout the entire 18 days, kids' focused classes include macrame keychain making, seashell phone case decorating, and DIY lip gloss making while adults targeted sessions include tie dye, inspirational quotes art, and beach bag painting. Adding to the culinary excitement, the Heinz Selection competition will spotlight the region's top burger chefs, who have been challenged to create signature burgers using Heinz sauces. The top three finalists will face off in a grand finale on 12 April, where a jury will select the ultimate winner.

The Bahrain-UAE Business Forum kicked off on Friday in the Bahraini capital, Manama, with the participation of senior officials from both countries, along with representatives of leading Emirati and Bahraini companies. Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led a high-level UAE delegation to participate in the forum. The forum comes as strategic relations between the two countries grow from strength to strength, particularly in areas relating to economic, trade and investment relations. Discussions focused on increasing cooperation between the two nations in economic sectors of mutual benefit, including finance, water security, tourism, logistics and energy. In a keynote address, Al Zeyoudi stressed that relations between the two countries are witnessing continuous growth along their path to reach a solid and sustainable strategic partnerships in various fields. Al Zeyoudi stated, 'These positive developments in our strategic partnership are being driven by the forward-looking vision and common will of the leadership of both nations, who seek to boost our relations to new heights in order to achieve the common development aspirations of both our peoples. They are also boosted by positive meetings between President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain.' Al Zeyoudi also reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to building strong regional trade and investment relationships, with Bahrain a key partner in these efforts. He highlighted the deepening and historic economic ties between the two nations, achieved through bilateral and multilateral deals, including the Industrial Integration Partnership for sustainable economic development. Al Zeyoudi restated the mutual vision of securing supply chains, integrating value-added industries into their economies and diversifying their manufacturing base to create jobs. Al Zeyoudi noted that trade and investment relations between the UAE and Bahrain have grown strongly in recent years. Bilateral non-oil trade reached Dhs33.9 billion in 2024, an increase of 23 per cent when compared to 2023. Overall, between 2015 and 2024, UAE-Bahrain trade has increased by an average of 11 per cent per year, the fastest of any of the UAE's Gulf partners, with whom the average growth rate was 8 per cent. Overall, the UAE is Bahrain's second-largest trading partner globally, comprising 10.4 per cent of its total worldwide trade. In turn, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressed that the forum reflects the depth of relations and strategic integration between Bahrain and the UAE and represents a new milestone in their partnership. During his opening speech at the forum, Fakhro welcomed Al Zeyoudi and his accompanying delegation, praising their visit to Bahrain and their participation in the forum, which confirms a mutual keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in various economic sectors. Fakhro explained that the forum is being held at an important time, and embodies the common conviction that economic integration is not only achieved through the exchange of goods and investments, but also through the activation of agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries, allowing the private sector opportunities to expand and access new markets. Fakhro pointed to the importance of the recent memorandum of understanding on integration in the National Added Value (ICV) programmes, which allows products manufactured in either country to be treated as national products in the other country, helping to strengthen local industries and increase opportunities for preference in government procurement. Fakhro also announced the inauguration of the Emirates Investor Centre at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as agreed as part of a memorandum of understanding concluded between the two sides. He stressed that the centre will provide facilities and services to Emirati investors. Fakhro expressed his thanks and appreciation to all participants and organisers, reiterating his hope that the forum will contribute to pushing the economic relations between Bahrain and the UAE towards further progress and prosperity. The Bahrain-UAE Business Forum included several panel discussions and presentations, with the participation of a group of senior officials and business leaders from both sides, including a session entitled 'Competitive Investment Environment for Entrepreneurs and Investors in Bahrain and the UAE', and another session entitled 'Growth Gateways - Prospects for Cooperation in Free Zones'. 13 June 2025 17:12 SARA ALZAABI (ABU DHABI)Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU) held its 2025 graduation ceremony over two days at ADNEC on June 11-12, celebrating 1,112 graduates from both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.A total of 738 students earned bachelor's degrees, including 31 medical graduates, while 193 received their master's and 163 were awarded their part of the UAE's Year of Community, the ceremony celebrated significant achievements, including a record-breaking number of Biomedical Engineering graduates, a robust group from the inaugural Nuclear Engineering programme, and the awarding of degrees in the Master of Science in Sustainable Critical Infrastructure launch of the bachelor's programme in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence also highlighted the university's increasing focus on future-oriented to Aletihad, Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, praised the graduates' achievements and their growing role in shaping the UAE's innovation landscape."The 2025 graduates have now become part of a community of Khalifa University alumni who are not only advancing in their careers but shaping industries in the UAE and the region. He also mentioned the university's partnerships with Stanford, Airbus, and university's graduates have developed start-ups through its innovation and entrepreneurship programmes via the Khalifa University Enterprises Company (KUEC) and the Khalifa Innovation it introduced the UAE's first dual master's programme in partnership with Arizona State University, centred on Al Hajri further explained how Khalifa University has prepared them to lead: "At Khalifa University, work experience is built into the learning process, and many of our students intern with top UAE and leading international companies in various sectors such as energy, telecom, and defence research, gaining exposure to the roles they will step into."Khalifa University marked a milestone in its sustainable journey with the launch of "Sustainability Strategy - A Pathway to Net Zero 2050", a comprehensive five-year roadmap, and the university's first greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions report, he noted."We have also launched a Dh1 million sustainability challenge through which we are planning to offer grants for the most impactful research projects," Prof. Al Hajri said."In addition, Khalifa University is the Co-Chair of the UAE Universities Climate Network (UCN) and centres its works on four key pillars: Student Youth Engagement, Communal Activations, Research & Innovation, and Campus Carbon Neutrality," he added. A Rewarding Education Journey Also speaking to Aletihad graduates from various disciplines, shared their education journey and future Hessa Aljarwan, who holds a PhD in Engineering Systems and Management, the graduation "marks the start of a greater responsibility-to give back, lead with integrity, and pursue impact over titles." Her research explored how indoor environments affect brain activity, aiming to design healthier office spaces."Khalifa University gave me the freedom to explore neuroscience and architecture," she said, adding that she plans to pursue research, design and Gafoor Haddad, a PhD holder in Robotics, focused his research on reinforcement learning for UAVs."My PhD introduced reinforcement learning techniques for UAVs with slung loads, enabling them to pick and place items accurately – even when conditions like cable length or load mass change. It addresses the challenge of real-world adaptability," he university's comprehensive support, global exposure and participation in hackathons were pivotal in shaping his Alzaabi, who holds a Master's in Computer Science (AI), said: "This degree came with challenges, but each one pushed me to grow – technically and personally."Her research developed energy-efficient AI models for underwater navigation."It addresses the limitations of conventional AI, especially where energy efficiency is critical," she Almarzooqi, who holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Excellent with Honors) and led the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics' KU Chapter, won national awards, and joined CubeSat projects with global partners."Today is not just about earning a degree - it is about perseverance and service to our country.""I want to keep contributing to aerospace through innovation and service," she Al Jasmi, Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering degree holder, called her KU experience "truly rewarding and it deepened my interest in the field".She thanked her family and shared how the university's evolving curriculum and her internship at KAIST, Korea, expanded her skills. "I plan to pursue postgraduate studies, but first I want hands-on experience," she said.
