A New York Volunteer Fire Company chief has been suspended from his duties after he was caught on video using inappropriate language to a young girl in distress
A disgraced fire chief has been suspended after he told a 10-year-old girl to "shut the f*** up" as she is strapped to a stretcher during an emergency call-out.

North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company Chief Peter Alt was caught on video shouting at the upset child in West Babylon, New York on Monday, August 4. In a now viral video, which has been watched more than 4.5million times on TikTok, the girl was visibly upset as she was placed into an ambulance.

"Shut the f*** up! Deal with you every f****** day," Alt is heard shouting at the youngster. The girl, who was strapped to a stretcher, can be heard shouting: 'I don't want to go! I want to go home!" 'Shut your mouth," the fire chief can be heard shouting back. It comes after a schoolboy, 13, has both legs amputated after 'getting cramp' at sports camp.

The incident was captured on video by a concerned neighbour and Alt, a 22-year veteran with North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company, has since been stripped of his duties, the company confirmed in a statement.
"We have become aware of an incident which occurred last night, August 4, 2025 between a member of the North Babylon Fire Company and a minor during an aided call wherein the member is alleged to have used inappropriate language toward the minor," North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company said in a statement
"The member has been relieved of all of his duties pending a full and thorough investigation whereupon appropriate action will be taken. The fire company is presently reviewing all of its training, policies, and procedures and will determine if further training with respect to responding to emergency calls is required.

'The fire company does not condone this behaviour and deems it unacceptable.'
It's been reported that the family has called first responders for the 10-year-old before, but in the past responders have always been understanding. The girl's mother slammed Alt in an interview with Newsday on Wednesday.

'He was supposed to protect her and help her, not verbally abuse her,' she said. 'He failed her. At no point should a child or human be spoken to like that ever.'
The child's grandmother told NBC New York earlier this week that police were called because the girl became emotionally distressed after her phone was taken away from her. The girl has since secluded herself at home and 'didn't want to go to school", the grandmother said.
'She has anxiety. She will need therapy,' she added. A number of officers from the Suffolk County Police Department were also in attendance during the call-out and afterwards reported the incident to their supervisor, the department said in a statement obtained by Newsday.
Town of Babylon officials have since released a statement on Facebook condemning the fire chief's 'appalling' actions. 'The use of demeaning and inappropriate language by a first responder during an aided call is appalling and completely at odds with the standards of dignity, respect, and professionalism our residents deserve,' the statement read.
'We understand that the individual involved has been relieved of duty while a full investigation takes place and we expect a full and transparent review of the incident.' It added: "The Town of Babylon condemns this conduct in the strongest possible terms and stands with the affected family and all residents who rely on our emergency services in their times of need."

Meisner, himself a dad-of-five and grandfather, entered the Schulze family home in the Rhineland village of Weitefeld in the early hours of April 6. He carried out the evil assault in the dead of night armed with a knife and a gun. Nadine Schulze, a 44-year-old employee of a local butcher, was able to call the police and scream for help down the phone as Meisner entered the house. read more in horror stories 'SENSELESS TRAGEDY' College professor killed by masked gunman while visiting ex-wife's home Moments later, she was stabbed and shot dead by Meisner. Police quickly responded to the haunting call and rushed round to the house. They found Nadine's lifeless body alongside her 47-year-old husband Kai and Kilian, the couple's 16-year-old son. All three had suffered fatal injuries from gunshot and stab wounds. Some of the family were reportedly found bound with cable ties. Meisner, now nicknamed the "Westerwald Killer" had already managed to escape the scene. Police had issued an arrest warrant along with a reward of up to €10,000 leading to his capture. Interpol also confirmed that a Red Notice had been issued for his arrest after a request by German authorities. Then on April 26, nearly three weeks after the murders, several horrifying videos were shared of Meisner online. One showed the man maniacally laughing as he stared into the camera all as he wore a clown mask. Another posted the same day showed him stripped down to his underwear and pouring freezing buckets of ice water over his head. Officials are still unsure if Meisner was behind the clips being posted onto TikTok or if they were posted on his behalf. This is due to his body being found less than 2,000ft away from the Schulze's home on August 5. 7 Nadine Schulze, 44, was able to call the police and scream for help down the phone but was tragically still killed by Meisner 7 Police stand outside the Schulze family home in the Rhineland village of Weitefeld Credit: Thomas Frey / Avalon 7 The wanted poster for Meisner Credit: Koblenz Police Cops said the badly decomposed corpse was partially hidden in a underwater in a swampy farmland between Weitefeld and Neunkhausen in Altenkirchen. A firearm was also found next to his remains. Detectives said due to the body's condition it is nearly impossible to determine an exact cause of death or when Meisner actually died. They are still investigating if he took his own life, died from his injuries during the killing spree or faced another grim demise. Meisner was a known criminal to police as he had previously spent time in jail for headbutting and stabbing his ex-wife. He was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison in 2011 after attempting to murder his ex-wife, Theresa. Meisner is said to have only stopped the attack after one of his sons stopped him from finding another knife. Neighbours had also warned of the behaviour from Meisner in the years before the family massacre. Melanie Hoechtlen said she reported him for harassment in October 2023. She told Bild: "He ambushed my dog and me on the path. Then he came close and asked if he could lick me. "I reported him back then. He said he had been a lone fighter in his homeland of Kazakhstan and knew how to survive in the forest for weeks." Police have announced they have ended their investigations into the murders now that Meisner's body has been found. Mario Mannweiler, senior public prosecutor, concluded: "The fact that the whereabouts of the suspected perpetrator remained unknown for months has troubled us. "The fact that the suspect is no longer alive was an obvious option for many reasons, but without a body, other options had to be pursued. In any case, I'm relieved that this has now come to an end."

I was nearly trafficked from my Cyprus hotel – here's the signs you might miss, I never realised women work with them

AN INFLUENCER has urged holiday goers to be careful after she realised she was almost trafficked from the restaurant of her Cyprus hotel. Summer Fox, who boasts 764k followers on TikTok, shared the story of how she was potentially almost trafficked along with her friends, but admitted she had no idea at the time. 2 2 In the viral video, Summer said she had forgotten all about the bizarre incident until she watched a documentary, which brought all of their memories back. According to Summer, about four years ago she was staying in a posh hotel just outside of Ayia Napa with two of her friends. The trio ate at the fine dining restaurant inside the hotel a few nights in a row, and each time they noticed a girl sat on her own all glammed up. Summer recalled that the girl would make eye contact with her friends, before texting on her phone again. At the time, the friends didn't think much of it, and even joked that the girl must've fancied one of them because of how often she was looking at them. Soon after, the girl got up from her table and approached Summer and her friends to invite them to a party that night. "She was trying to convince us [to go to the party] but we said no a few times," Summer explained. Eventually, the girl, who was glammed up in a sparkly dress and a full face of makeup, went back to her table and continued to text someone. Summer admitted that they still didn't think much about the situation, other than it being "a bit awkward and weird." But then one of Summer's friends chimed in to say it could be a human trafficking plot, an idea that Summer and her other friend thought was "ridiculous" at the time. Inside romance scam target lonely singles on dating apps but what they don't know is if we die Then, when the group left the restaurant the suspicious girl was waiting for them, and urged them to come to a party with them, even telling them there was a taxi waiting outside. At this point, Summer said the girl looked pretty stressed out and annoyed as she continued to text someone. Luckily, the group didn't see the girl again and didn't think much about the encounter until Summer watched a documentary which felt eerily similar. In the documentary, Summer explained a glam woman also approached a girl in a bar, befriended her and then took her to another location, paid for all of her drinks and then drugged her and took her to a group of men who trafficked her. "When I saw that I just thought 'oh my f***ing god' that was definitely the case," Summer said. To make things even worse, Summer admitted that if her "more cautious friend" wasn't there and if the strange woman was "a better actress" she might've gone with her. After sharing her story some TikTok users agreed with Summer that it could've been a human trafficking plot she narrowly avoided. One commented: "People don't take trafficking seriously enough. It's so horrible." "This happened to me and my friends in Marbella," someone else wrote. And a third said they experienced something similar in Vegas, but didn't hang around to find out where it went. "Me and my cousin almost got trafficked in Gran Canaria! Two women approached us, we didn't realise until we got home then in clicked. So scary," someone else said. WHAT IS HUMAN TRAFFICKING? Human trafficking involves the recruitment or movement of people for exploitation by the use of threat, force, fraud, or the abuse of vulnerability. Trafficking is a crime that can occur across international borders or within a country. It often crosses multiple geographic and legal boundaries. Men, women and children may be trafficked for various purposes. They include labour sectors (for example, agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, services), domestic servitude, forced begging and petty theft and sexual exploitation. Individuals who have been trafficked are likely to experience multiple physical and mental health risks prior to, during and after their trafficking experiences, and many suffer acute and long-term health problems. Health consequences of human trafficking may include injuries, physical pain and illnesses, and sexual health problems. They may also include mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and post-traumatic stress disorder. Women trafficked for sexual exploitation and domestic servitude report high levels of sexual violence. Men and women report high levels of symptoms of sexually transmitted infections. Source:
