Fans to wait a bit longer: Hetty Koes Endang concert in Miri rescheduled to Sept 13
Eddie (left) and Hetty show the signed agreement for the concert during a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year.
MIRI (June 6): Fans of Indonesian music legend Hetty Koes Endang will have to wait a little longer for her much-anticipated concert here, as organisers Borneo SuperAct Events have officially announced the postponement of the 'Hetty Koes Endang & Friends' concert to Sept 13, 2025.
Originally scheduled for July 5 at the Miri Indoor Stadium, the concert has been rescheduled to allow the organisers additional time to fine-tune preparations and deliver what they describe as a 'highest quality' experience befitting the renowned diva and her fans.
In a statement yesterday, Borneo SuperAct Events cited unavoidable circumstances during concurrent preparations as the key reason for the deferment.
'Postponing the concert date appears the best solution to give ourselves and our strategic partners more time to reset and consolidate efforts in order to propel this concert to excellent fruition,' said founder and owner Datuk Eddie Abdullah.
The company also expressed its deep appreciation to Hetty, affectionately known as 'Bunda', for her understanding and full agreement with the postponement.
Widely respected across Indonesia and beyond, Hetty is expected to draw fans not only from Malaysia but also neighbouring countries like Brunei, Indonesia (Kalimantan), and Singapore, thanks to accessible regional travel routes such as Scoot flights.
Meanwhile, all tickets purchased through Uber Tickets remain valid for the new date.
According to Eddie, Uber Tickets has confirmed that while tickets are transferable, they remain non-refundable in accordance with the original terms and conditions.
Ticket holders are encouraged to contact the Uber Tickets hotline for assistance.
The concert will also feature local artistes including Bob Yusof, Rickie Andrewson, Rosiana Urai, and emerging talents Aleysha and Ryan Zachary.
Significantly, the concert is charity-driven, with a portion of ticket proceeds going to the Persatuan Sokongan Kanser Payudara Miri (Persopam), a local breast cancer support group.
'This is a concert with charity in mind, as we believe that in business, there must also be a sense of caring and sharing towards the less fortunate in our community,' Eddie added.
Borneo SuperAct Events is also appealing to corporate organisations to support the concert, either by sponsoring the event or purchasing bulk tickets as a goodwill gesture for employees and families.
The concert marks the organiser's debut venture into the creative and performing arts industry in Sarawak and is expected to contribute to local tourism and cultural vibrancy.
'With more time for planning and promotion, we are optimistic that the concert will exceed expectations when it finally takes place in September,' said Eddie.

Goat grazes on grass high above on power line: Glitch in the matrix?
A BIZZARE video recently captured the attention of social media users, showing a goat perched on an overhead power line. The incident, thought to have occurred somewhere in Indonesia, was filmed from a moving vehicle on a busy roadway. In the short clip, the goat, complete with horns, appears remarkably relaxed as it balances on a single electrical wire and snacks on a bunch of grass snagged on the cable. What makes the scene even more astonishing is the location. The goat is calmly standing above a road bustling with traffic, showing no signs of fear or distress. The footage, shared by Indonesian portal has already amassed over 15,000 views in a short period, though it hasn't drawn much interaction beyond that. Viewers online have been left puzzled, with many wondering about the precise location and how the goat ended up in such an improbable position. The original poster has yet to provide any further details. —June 10, 2025 Main image: Foto Agensi

(Video) Ameera Khan Is Not Malay? Model Clarifies Her Family's Ethnicity
Although Ameera Khan is a public figure who frequently shares her work and travels on social media, little is known about her personal life. One confirmed detail, however, is that she is currently in a relationship with Indonesian actor Jefri Nichol, and the pair have been spending a great deal of time together recently. During a recent Instagram livestream, the model shared a revelation about her background, stating that she is not actually Malay, or at least not fully Malay, as many had believed. Here's what she said: Recently, Ameera Khan addressed allegations during an Instagram Live session, suggesting that she was ashamed to identify as Malay. 'It's not that I'm ashamed. I'm really not Malay, so why should I claim that I am? And I don't think I'm mixed either, because my mum is Arab and my dad is Pakistani. I live and grew up here, so obviously I can speak the language. If I couldn't, you might as well just slap me,' she said, laughing before adding that she's proficient in the Kelantanese dialect. When asked how her family came to settle in Kelantan, Malaysia, Ameera said she would need to ask her mother again to recall the details of their family history. She also shared that she often identified as Malay simply because it was the easier answer. 'If I say otherwise, people will accuse me of being ashamed of my Malay identity, which isn't true, so it's easier to just say that I was Malay and move on,' she added. It remains unclear whether the model or her family have any Malay ancestry. In addition to speaking about her ethnicity, Ameera Khan also discussed her relationship with her boyfriend Jefri Nichol, describing him as funny and full of character. 'His humour is… something. He's very fun — I love him a lot,' she shyly confessed, adding that the two are constantly on the phone with each other during their free time. Ronnie Hussein Chooses Solo Career Over Returning to Popular Bands
KUALA LUMPUR: After a decade of pursuing his own path, high-pitched vocalist Ronnie Hussein says he is now more comfortable continuing as a solo singer — despite having received several offers to rejoin some of Malaysia's most popular music groups. The former lead vocalist of Hyper Act said that although opportunities to collaborate with established bands are always on the table, he prefers to build his artistic brand with new groups, free from the shadow of past successes or comparisons with original members. 'Many have invited me — including well-known bands from the past. I even temporarily replaced Zamani in Slam around 2009 and recorded an album with them,' he told a press conference for Konsert Sebuah Kisah Volume 1, recently. Ronnie explained that his decision to remain a solo artiste is not driven by ego or a desire to distance himself from bands, but rather by a sense of creative comfort and transparency — allowing him to perform without constant comparisons to previous lead singers. 'I've experienced all of that... when you replace an original singer, comparisons are inevitable. The benchmark is very high. So rather than face criticism or constant comparisons, I'd rather start something new with a fresh group and grow together,' he said. The singer, best known for hits like Dikoyak Waktu and Salahkah, added that the pressure of being compared can take a toll on an artiste's morale — especially when the original singer holds a special place in fans' hearts. Although now more recognised as a solo act, Ronnie acknowledges the unique energy and advantages that come with performing as part of a band. 'There are pros and cons to both. With a band, you can do a lot more on stage — there are more gimmicks and elements to play with. But when you perform solo with just a minus one (backing track), it's pretty straightforward — there's nothing particularly special in that sense,' he said. In his latest venture, Ronnie will deliver a special performance alongside popular Indonesian pop group Dadali in their exclusive concert scheduled for July 5 at Zepp Kuala Lumpur. He shared that the offer came directly from Dadali's vocalist, Dyrga Dadali, whom Ronnie befriended during their time together on the show Gegar Vaganza. 'My name was the first one he mentioned. I guess because during Gegar Vaganza we got to know each other well, and he knows I'm easy-going — so when he asked, I immediately said yes,' he said. Continuing to carve out a space for himself in the local entertainment scene without a band, Ronnie stressed that what matters most is staying true to one's art — and not being swayed by industry pressures.
