Prince Harry has laid bare his desperation to mend his shattered relationship with King Charles and the wider Royal Family, though a private confession to a Royal confidant could potentially return to trouble him.
A clandestine peace meeting last week between top officials representing Charles and his alienated son sent ripples through Royal circles as the duo appeared to inch towards reconciliation.
The discussions occurred just months after an explosive BBC interview in which the Duke revealed that his father "won't speak to him".

Reflecting on the prolonged rift with his relatives, Harry declared: "There is no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious."
In what undoubtedly stunned Buckingham Palace, the Duke remarked: "I don't know how much longer my father has," alluding to Charles's cancer battle."
The prince acknowledged that "some members of my family will never forgive me" for penning his tell-all autobiography Spare, before continuing: "It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them."
Whilst Harry claims he is "ready to forgive," his fury appeared evident during his father's Coronation, according to a lip-reading expert who has revealed a distressing conversation between Harry and his cousin and long-standing Royal supporter, Princess Eugenie.
A new Channel 5 programme, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, set to air tonight, has revealed a host of Royal exchanges at key events, with Prince Harry among those featured.
Harry appeared isolated on the steps of Westminster Abbey during his father's Coronation ceremony in 2023, having returned to British soil without Meghan and their children. As the Royal family congregated at the close of the event, it was evident that tensions were still running high.
The Duke then approached Eugenie, one of the few royals he's maintained a close relationship with, and reportedly vented: "I've spent five hours with my dad in his office and not a friendly text from either", as interpreted by a lip reader.
It remains uncertain who failed to message Harry – whether it was Charles and Camilla, or William and Kate – but it appears the Duke has been out of touch with his brother for years.
According to the lip reader, Harry is seen asking "Why hasn't anybody contacted me?" to which Eugenie offers a sympathetic yet reserved smile.
This revelation comes alongside another conversation disclosed in the new television series, this time between Harry and Meghan. This particular exchange took place at a Service of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey in 2018, a mere six months following their lavish wedding at Windsor Castle.
The Sussexes were present at the Abbey alongside the entire Royal family, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, to pay tribute to fallen servicemen and women and commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice.
The documentary delves into a moment where Harry and Meghan, seated and awaiting the start of a ceremony, engaged in a deep conversation, with Meghan posing a significant question to Harry.
Lip reading specialist Nicola Hickling analysed their exchange for the show, claiming that Meghan urged Harry to "take advantage of the situation", as she glanced around at the assembly of royals encircling them.
According to Hickling, Harry's reaction to Meghan's suggestion was one of surprise, as he queried: "Today?", to which Meghan pressed: "Do it tonight."
Following this, Harry is said to have asked Meghan a poignant question: "You do realise that this is the end?" with Meghan acknowledging: "Yeah, I do know".
Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop then posits that these intimate remarks exchanged by the Sussexes might indicate that they had been contemplating their sensational departure from Royal duties long before they publicly announced their decision.
