A floral tribute to Kittur's valour in Lalbagh this I-Day
The 12-day show, running from August 7 to 18, will be themed around the Kittur princely state, celebrating the legacy of Kittur Rani Chennamma and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event.
This year, the main attraction inside the Glass House will be a massive floral fort of Kittur, crafted using roses and chrysanthemums. Alongside, it will have installations of Rani Chennamma on horseback and Rayanna in battle stance. The Veera Rani Kittur Chennammaji Samadhi Sthala, her final resting place in Kittur, will also be recreated using flowers.
'As part of the storytelling, 60 large display boards will be set up around the Glass House, sharing the history of Kittur, its rulers, and its eventual fall,' Joint Director of Horticulture (Parks and Gardens) M Jagadeesh said.
A portion of the fort will also be recreated as a vertical garden, in front of which models of Lavani dancers, representing the folk art of North Karnataka, will be placed. On the other side of the Glass House, a dramatic scene depicting Rayanna's execution by the British will be displayed, Jagadeesh added.
Entry tickets are priced at Rs 80 for adults on weekdays and Rs 100 on weekends. Students above 12 years can enter for Rs 30, while school students in uniform will be allowed free entry on all working days.

'When we were working on the film, we hadn't thought it would get so big… But on the third day of the release, when the film blew up at the box office, we realized it had gone big. I still haven't watched Saiyaara," he revealed. Commenting on the viral videos, Badola didn't hold back: 'By the third or fourth day, the film was being talked about. I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking bangles and beating their chests). I think the promotions team went a little overboard… putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content. Thank god, people didn't get their legs broken and go crawling to see the film." Despite his candid remarks, Badola acknowledged the film's real impact. 'It's okay. We understand promoting the film, but it's good only up to a certain level. However, the film cannot earn so much money just based on Instagram promotions. People have gone and seen the film, and they have loved it," he concluded. Kakori revolutionaries steal show at Ayodhya Film Festival
Lucknow: Kakori revolutionaries were remembered during the inauguration of the 19th Ayodhya Film Festival held at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) on the occasion of the Kakori Centenary Year celebrations on Wednesday. A book exhibition related to the Kakori Action Centenary Year and films from India and abroad were screened as part of the festival. A painting competition on the theme, 'Role of women in the freedom movement' and a quiz competition based on the 'Kakori Action Centenary Year' were organized for students from various schools. Addressing students and teachers, granddaughter of freedom fighter Sachindra Nath Bakshi , Mita Bakshi not only recalled the contributions of her grandfather, Sachindra Nath Bakshi, but also shared the spirit of the historic movement that awakened the entire nation for the freedom struggle. Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda on Wednesday claimed that the app (application) he endorsed is not a betting one, but a gaming app, which is a legal and skill-based platform. Speaking to the media after appearing before Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in connection with the ongoing investigation into the illegal betting app case, Vijay Deverakonda said: 'I endorsed a gaming app, A23. There is no link with the betting app. Gaming apps are completely legal and recognised by govt agencies and are licensed. These entities pay GST and TDS.' ED officials, who found that he received Rs 4 crore from the apps, questioned him about the remuneration he received for promoting the platform. The questioning of the actor is part of a broader probe involving several celebrities who endorsed the app, which is under the scanner for money laundering and illegal operations.
