Marnus Labuschagne facing fresh pressure after unlikely Cameron Green development
The allrounder has struggled with his back throughout his young career and underwent surgery on his lower spine. Green was expected to miss six months of action and rest up so he could prepare for the Ashes this November. The 25-year-old did make an appearance at the Allan Border on Monday and picked up the Community Impact Award.
And in a surprise bid, Green is looking to play County Cricket in England to build match fitness so he can put himself in the frame to play the ICC Test Championship Final in June. This is big news for the Australians with Green living up to the hype around his talent before his injury.
Green averaged more than 50 last summer having moved up to the No.4 position in place of Steve Smith. Unfortunately, Green's push to return for the final against South Africa spells trouble for Labuschagne and Webster.
Labuschagne is facing pressure to remain in the starting XI after a lean run of form. The No.3 batter averaged 25.8 at home against India and once again flopped in the first innings against Sri Lanka. While there were question marks on whether the 30-year-old would play the second Test in Galle, Labuscahgne appears a certainty to line-up.
Although fans are questioning whether Green's return could spell the end of Labuschagne with selectors already axing Mitchell Marsh this summer for a poor run of form. While Labuschagne is currently under the most pressure to score runs, the other player who could face the brutal call is recent. additions Webster.

Aussie fans were thrilled for Webster after his Test debut at the SCG against India with the allrounder producing a vital 57 in the first innings. He then followed this up with a 37 not out in the second innings to secure a brilliant debut for Australia.
Webster scored 23 runs in the first innings against Sri Lanka and appeared a certainty to line-up for Australia against South Africa in June. Although Green's emergence could place his position in some doubt. Webster's ability to bowl overs and bat in the middle order should be deemed vital for the Aussie line-up.
The towering allrounder replaced Marsh in the middle order and offers flexibility. And Green is unlikely to come back and bowl. Webster should be considered a lock for the June Test, but if Australia feel they don't need a fifth bowling option in English conditions, Webster could make way for Green. Although this would be a brutal blow for the 31-year-old allrounder who only just made his mark in the team.

Ahead of the Sri Lanka tour, chief selector George Bailey suggested he was ready for Green to return as a specialist batter ahead of the South Africa showdown. 'Very hopeful that he'll be available as a batsman for the World Test Championship final,' he said.
Green was dropped for Marsh during the 2023 Ashes series having struggled to find form at No.6. However, he returned to the side back in Australia having taken Smith's position at No.4 in the order after David Warner's retirement. His latest setback was a blow to his momentum, but many feel the 25-year-old will slot right back in to the starting side. Green last played for Australia in an ODI against England on September 24.

2025 Arkansas Football Predictions: Razorbacks Ranked 64th in RJ Young's Ultimate 136
College Football 2025 Arkansas Football Predictions: Razorbacks Ranked 64th in RJ Young's Ultimate 136 Published Aug. 10, 2025 8:57 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link This isn't your average college football ranking. My Ultimate 136 is a set of rankings that is fluid, but it's my job to look ahead and make a claim for all FBS teams based on what I know and why I know it. Here are the three pressing questions I started by asking when putting together this list: Who do I think is good? Why do I think they're good? What are the chances they will finish above or below my expectations? Here is a look at where Arkansas lands in my Ultimate 136. Arkansas Razorbacks ranking: 64 Last year's ranking: 29 Top player: QB Taylen Green: Recorded 3,756 yards of total offense last season, the second-most in a single season in program history; only QB this century to pass for 300+ yards, rush for 75+ yards, average 30+ yards per completion and not throw a single INT in a single game (vs. Texas Tech). [Arkansas's 2025 schedule] RJ's take: Arkansas has struggled to return to its high-water mark of 9-4 in 2021 under Sam Pittman, but they've shown signs of being a breakthrough program. Last season, they knocked off No. 4-ranked Tennessee in a thriller for the program's first win against a top-five opponent since 1999. But that win was overshadowed by a 21-17 loss to Texas A&M and pummelings by LSU (34-10), Ole Miss (63-31) and a 10-point loss to Texas. Finishing 7-6 might have been fine last year, but another 7-6 year might not carry Pittman into 2026. ADVERTISEMENT For the Razorbacks, finishing with a positive turnover margin will be a good start. They finished minus-8 in that metric last year. Green completed just 49% of his passes through the first five games of the season, but still threw for more than 3,100 yards with 602 on the ground. Those numbers were similar to Oklahoma's John Mateer last year, and Green did that in the SEC. There's still room for Green to become the kind of player LaNorris Sellers did for South Carolina and lead Arkansas to a nine-win season for the first time in five years. If he's going to do that, it's going to have to happen with games at Memphis, at Tennessee, at LSU, at Texas and against Missouri, Texas A&M and Notre Dame. [Check out RJ Young's Ultimate 136 College Football Rankings here] Arkansas Win Total Odds: Over 5.5 (+108) Under 5.5 (-132) Have an issue with my rankings? Gardner's heroics in vain against Aussie-driven Phoenix
Star allrounder Ash Gardner remains winless in her leadership of the Trent Rockets despite delivering her best knock yet in the Hundred, having to bow instead to the Australian-powered Northern Superchargers at Trent Bridge. Almost single-handedly at the Nottingham venue where she bowled Australia to an Ashes Test triumph two summers ago, captain Gardner kept the home side's hopes alive with her thrilling knock of 61 off 32 balls on Sunday. Studded with 10 fours, it represented nearly half their total of 8-128, but still proved nowhere near enough as the Superchargers, thriving off the back of excellent performances from Aussie internationals Georgia Wareham, Phoebe Litchfield and Annabel Sutherland, knocked off the runs for the loss of just two wickets. Ash Gardner's first 50 runs in #TheHundred! 🙇 — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 10, 2025 The supremely talented Litchfield, with an inventive switch-hitting cameo of 22 off just 10 balls, and Sutherland, clattering an unbeaten 18 off 11, took the visitors swiftly past the target with 21 balls remaining. They provided the main support acts to 18-year-old English find Davina Perrin, whose brilliant unbeaten 72 deservedly won her the player of the match honours and marked her as an opener Australia may have reason to be fearful of over the next few years. Wareham, player of the match in the Superchargers' first win, this time led from the front in the field as she took two catches and ran out Bryony Smith with only one stump to aim on just the fifth ball of the innings to set the visitors on their way to dominating. 🎯 Direct hit! 🎯Northern Superchargers enjoy a perfect start at Trent Bridge! #TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 10, 2025 Wareham, who took 0-28, won't have been happy with her one inexplicable spilled chance, but otherwise was exceptional in the field, exemplified by the finely judged boundary-edge catch off Grace Ballinger that finally sent Gardner on her way. Gardner had been hitting the ball beautifully while wickets tumbled around her, hitting her first half-century since captaining the Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League in February. In the day's earlier match at Southampton, Ellyse Perry's Birmingham Phoenix were beaten by 15 runs by Southern Brave. The great Australian allrounder looked well set to guide the visitors to a second straight win in the competition as they chased a total of 7-139 but on 26 off 21 balls, Perry toe-ended a swipe off Sophie Devine and was bagged at deep midwicket. Lauren Bell ⚡️What a delivery to dismiss Georgia Voll 😮💨#TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 10, 2025 From there, the Phoenix challenge, which had kicked off with Aussie opener Georgia Voll getting bowled for 10, eventually faded as they were bowled out for 124, with only Dutch batter Sterre Kalis showing much resistance with her 44 off 34 balls.

Seth Curry reveals ‘awkward' Warriors Draymond Green trash talk in front of Steph
The post Seth Curry reveals 'awkward' Warriors Draymond Green trash talk in front of Steph appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Golden State Warriors are hoping that the trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green will be enough to allow them to contend next year in the Western Conference alongside a Motley crew of role players. While Green is no longer the player he was in his prime, his trash-talking skills have not diminished at all. Recently, Stephen Curry's brother Seth, also an NBA sharpshooter, recalled an incident where Green talked smack to him–with his brother standing in the immediate vicinity. 'I'm at the free throw line, and Draymond's out there. We're talking… I say something, and he's like 'why are you talking? You're a journeyman. Every team in the league.' It was funny because Steph was right there. It was kind of awkward,' said Curry, per iHeartRadio, via TheWarriorsTalk on X, formerly Twitter. Draymond Green has indeed been known as one of the NBA's biggest trash talkers during his tenure in the league, most notably informing Paul Pierce that he wouldn't get the same love that Kobe Bryant did during his retirement farewell tour. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Green's antics have at times become a major distraction, with him serving multiple suspensions during playoff runs and also punching teammate Jordan Poole prior to the 2023-24 season, which hung a major cloud over that campaign. Can the Warriors compete? The Warriors last year looked like a legitimate threat right up until Stephen Curry got injured in the first quarter of their second round series vs the Minnesota Timberwolves. While Golden State hung on and won that game, they would lose the next four, bringing a promising season in the wake of the Jimmy Butler trade to an unceremonious end. The Warriors have yet to make any notable moves so far this offseason, and the only real question for the team now is how they will handle the Jonathan Kuminga saga, which could be nearing its finish line. In any case, when Green keeps his temper in check, he remains one of the more unique players in the league and an integral part of the Warriors' success.
