Ibahima Seck was just 14.
This is the schoolboy who was stabbed to death, sparking a murder investigation. Ibrahima Seck, who was just 14, has been named as the victim of the incident.
He was left seriously injured following an incident yesterday evening, and tributes and a picture of him have now been left at the scene of the fatal altercation.
Manchester Evening News reports the stabbing took place in the Manchester suburb of New Moston, with the emergency services being called out at around 5pm.
Greater Manchester Police was summoned to the area's Nevin Road following reports of a serious assault and said the victim, a 14-year-old boy, had suffered stab wounds.
He was rushed to hospital but tragically died despite the best efforts of emergency services, including an air ambulance team. Investigations into Ibrahima's death are ongoing today.
A cordon is in place outside the nearby Fairway Inn, on Broadway. Witnesses described seeing Ibrahima run for help towards Nevin Road on Sunday evening, before locals rushed to his aid.
Manchester Coroner's Office confirmed it had received a file for Ibrahima following yesterday's tragic events. Flowers have been left for Ibrahima, while a photo of him has been posted at the scene.

Tragic mum, 31, 'stabbed to death by pupil' pictured for first time
A 14-year-old French schoolboy is facing 20 eyars in prison after allegedly stabbing a teaching assistant to death after she asked to search his bag for weapons. A young teaching assistant who was stabbed to death by a teenage pupil in a horror knife attack at a school in France has been pictured for the first time. Known only as Melanie G, the single mum and former hairdresser, was looking for concealed weapons alongside a police officer - in line with national education policy - at the gates of Françoise Dolto secondary school in Nogent-sur-Marne, near Paris when the horror unfolded around 8.30am on Tuesday, reports the Mirror. She had only started the job last year, giving up her career in hairdressing to spend more time with her little boy. French police say the 14-year-old schoolboy was tonight facing 20 years in prison after allegedly stabbing the 31-year-old teaching assistant to death after she asked to search his bag for knives. The incident followed a spate of school knife attacks in France, including one in April, when a teenage girl was stabbed to death and three others were wounded at a school in Nantes, in the west of the country. A source investigating the Nogent attack said: "The boy responsible was uninjured, after stabbing his victim multiple times. He was soon restrained by staff, and then arrested by the police officer present at the bag check." The source added: "One of the arresting officers suffered a slight cut to the hand." Referring to the alleged killer, the source said: "He is now in custody, and facing up to 20 years in prison if found guilty in a youth court of a deliberate killing." Local prosecutor Denis Devallois confirmed that a criminal enquiry had been launched into the killing, and that the perpetrator faced prison. The boy who cannot be named for legal reasons had been arrested twive from the school for disruptive behaviour, and was a student representative in the school's anti-bullying programme, claimed the source. Following today's killing, French President Emmanuel Macron described a "senseless wave of violence" in France. He added: "We all stand with [Melanie G.'s] family, her loved ones, her colleagues and the entire educational community. The nation is in mourning and the government is mobilised to reduce crime." Mélanie G. lived in Sarcey, around seven miles from Nogent, where she also worked as a municipal councillor. Paying tribute, her sister-in-law said: "She was funny, gentle, and very kind, and had one goal – to look after her child. She gave up hairdressing because she wanted more days off to be with him." Last month, France's Education Ministry announced that 958 bag checks in schools had resulted in the seizure of 94 knives across the country.

Madeleine McCann 'smoking gun' may have been found by cops, says expert
Cops probing Madeleine's disappearance may have uncovered key new evidence linking prime suspect Christian Brueckner to the missing toddler, says expert. Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann may have uncovered a major breakthrough after 'new evidence' reportedly linked the missing toddler to prime suspect Christian Brueckner. Authorities in Germany and Portugal spent three days last week scouring a 120-acre patch of land in Lagos, just 30 miles from Praia da Luz where three-year-old Madeleine vanished in May 2007. According to local reports, 'several objects' — including clothing, debris and bones — were recovered during the intense search of scrubland, derelict buildings and a crumbling farmhouse. A source told the Berlin Morning Post: "Several objects have apparently been discovered, which are now being examined in more detail by the police in the laboratory. As Portuguese media report, clothing debris and bones were found, among other things.' The search, carried out at the request of German federal police, focused on gathering fresh evidence that could finally implicate Brueckner, a convicted sex offender long suspected in the case. Disturbing new details about Brueckner have come to light in a recent documentary, including horrifying finds in his lair — such as images of children in swimming costumes, toddler toys, and sick kidnapping fantasies he had written out, including one where he uses chemical ether to abduct a mother and child. The documentary also reveals a harrowing quote allegedly made by Brueckner while discussing Madeleine with an associate: 'She did not scream.' In another chilling passage, he reportedly writes: 'A very small girl enters the room. She's definitely not older than five.' An 80GB hard drive and a laptop key were also uncovered — both allegedly linking Brueckner to the Arade Dam area where last week's search took place. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! One section of the documentary claims the suspect had a twisted ambition to 'capture something small and use it for days.' Experts believe these developments could prove pivotal. Professor Robert Green, Forensic Science expert at the University of Kent, told The Mirror: 'The authorities' decision to carry out a new search, it is likely influenced by the accumulation of new evidence and information that may have come to light, particularly from recent documentaries and interviews. 'As for the hard drive, if it contains incriminating evidence, it may indeed serve as a 'smoking gun' for investigators. Digital evidence often provides invaluable insights into a suspect's activities, intentions, and potential connections to criminal cases. Should the contents be substantial, they could significantly strengthen the case against Brueckner. 'The rationale behind the renewed search could stem from the ongoing pursuit of justice in the Madeleine McCann case and the hope that any additional evidence could lead to a breakthrough.' The new findings have reignited global interest in the case, as Madeleine's family and investigators continue their 18-year fight for justice.

Shamed Huw Edwards' divorce delayed as he's forced to slash £750k from asking price for his family home
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SHAMED BBC anchorman Huw Edwards' divorce has been delayed as the asking price for his family home was slashed by £750,000. His TV producer wife Vicky Flind filed for divorce days after he admitted possessing indecent images of children. Their six-bedroom detached mansion in Dulwich, south London was then put up for sale for £4.75 million last October following the couple's split. 3 Edwards' wife Vicky Flind filed for divorce days after his child sex image confession Credit: nobledraperpictures 3 Shamed BBC presenter Huw Edwards' divorce has stalled after £750k was knocked off the asking price of his family home Credit: Alamy 3 The couple's six-bed Dulwich mansion was listed for £4.75m last October after their split Credit: Pedder/TNG But no buyers have come forward to take on the plush property amid fears it has been blighted by its links to the telly paedo. The property has attracted so little interest that online site Zoopla is still urging 'be one of the first to view' - nine months after it went on sale. Agents reduced its asking price by £250,000 in February - but a further £500,000 has now been hacked off as the couple attempt to accelerate their split. The couple bought the six-bedroom home for £1.85 million in 2006 and it is mortgage-free - and 63-year-old Edwards expected to rake in more than £2 million from his share of the sale. But the plummeting price means the presenter - who earned £475,000 at the peak of his career - has already lost more than £300,000 he hoped to rake in last year. He did not pay back £200,000 in wages funded by licence payers which he earned between his arrest over child sex charges and his resignation. Court records obtained by The Sun confirm that no decree absolute had been granted to end his 32-year marriage up to June 5. It was unclear whether property sale problems were affecting the divorce - which had been expected to have been finalised by February this year Edwards, 62, pleaded guilty in September to three charges of making indecent images of children and was given a six-month suspended jail term. EXC Shamed Huw Edwards seen for first time since paedo conviction as we reveal he hasn't returned any of his £200k BBC wage The material included abuse videos of children as young as seven, which he received via WhatsApp between December 2020 and August 2021. Ms Flind initially stood by her husband but asked him to leave the family home after his arrest. He has since been living between a flat in Wandsworth, south-west London, and a property in Carmarthen, Wales. His Dulwich home is described by the estate agent as 'a substantial detached mid-century family house' with 'exceptionally spacious living accommodation'. It features three bathrooms, three reception rooms, a library, an office, a double-length garage, and mature gardens with decking. The agency said it sits 'on one of Dulwich's most desirable residential roads'. The couple, who married in 1993, have three sons and two daughters.
