Watch: Ronald Acuna Jr.'s incredible throw from right field completes double play
Fresh off representing the Braves in the All-Star Game played in Atlanta, the right fielder caught a fly ball hit by Cody Bellinger just on the grass in the right field corner. He then turned and fired the ball all the way to third base on the fly to nail Jorbit Vivas, who was attempting to tag up.
Acuna and the Braves were aided in part by some terrible baserunning by Vivas, who seemed to decelerate into the bag and failed to slide. Still, the Yankees third baseman wouldn't have been out had Acuna not made an unbelievable throw. The Yankees did not challenge, and the double play ended the top of the third inning.

Acuna helped the Braves take a 3-0 lead after the first inning with an RBI double and he scored a run on an Ozzi Albies sacrifice fly. Through seven innings, he was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Alex Lodise signs with Atlanta Braves
Alex Lodise is officially an Atlanta Brave. Jonathan Mayo of announced that the former Florida State Seminole had signed with the Braves for $1,297,500. It is an underslot deal, as the No. 60 pick had a value of $1.52 million. Lodise will have a chance to move quickly in the Braves system, which is light on position players, and they desperately need help at shortstop in Atlanta. He is coming off a breakout season in Tallahassee, where he won the Dick Howser Trophy after hitting .394 with 17 home runs, 18 doubles, 68 RBI, and 62 runs scored. He was also a consensus All-American and the ACC Defensive and Player of the Year. He made just five errors in 216 chances, posting a .977 fielding percentage and helping turn 34 double plays. He started all 58 of FSU's games, finishing with 31 multi-hit games and 13 three-hit games against 10 hitless games. Lodise was the first FSU shortstop drafted since Mike Salvatore in 2019 and the highest drafted since Stephen Drew went to the Arizona Diamondbacks with the 15th overall pick in the 2004 draft. He is the 14th Seminole that the Braves have selected, and the first since 2011. SEC football media poll drops. Where does LSU football rank?
LSU football is projected to finish fourth in the SEC media title poll, released Friday. Texas led the way, followed by Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and South Carolina to round out the top five. The Bulldogs and Longhorns finished first and second, respectively, last season. The Tigers return quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, running back Caden Durham, and a core of defensive leaders from last season. The pair, along with linebackers Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins, earned preseason All-SEC honors from the AP. Head coach Brian Kelly's staff brought in the top transfer portal class of the 2025 cycle following a win over Baylor in the Texas Bowl. By reforming the wide receiver and defensive end rooms in particular, the Tigers are primed to make a run at the SEC title. Some of them don't always make a lot of sense, but this hypothetical deal seems to have the groundwork of a potential trade this month. The Diamondbacks will likely trade all of their expiring players, including Gallen and Suárez. The only issue here is that it's likely Arizona will land more for this pair of stars than what's suggested in the trade. Suárez is expected to be the best third baseman on the market and will likely require a haul to land by himself. Pair that with Gallen, and the Diamondbacks should be landing quite the prospect return. For the Cubs, acquiring both of these players in one deal would be the best-case scenario. Suárez and his potential 50-home run bat are the dream replacement for Matt Shaw at the hot corner.
