'When my team went in and pulled it out of the water, that's when they realized it was just a life-size companion doll,' Mabey said, adding that the female doll had been in the water for a while. It is unclear how it landed in the water.
In case the person who dumped the doll is ever caught, they will likely face littering charges.

'This whole story has generated a lot of jokes and stories and really interesting Facebook comments,' the sheriff told the outlet, adding that he would rather go 'all out' for a search even if it later turns out that the situation was not a real emergency.
'I was hoping it'd blow over and no one would ever hear about it … but I can also see it's an interesting story,' he added.

Lawyer falls for fake online profile, gets cheated of 2.5L
Ahmedabad: A 26-year-old lawyer from Ghatlodia was cheated of Rs 2.5 lakh by a conman who posed as his brother-in-law through a fake Facebook profile, according to a complaint filed with Ghatlodia police on Wednesday. The complainant stated in his FIR that he received a Facebook message on July 17 from a profile bearing the photo and name of his brother-in-law, who lives in London. Thinking the message was genuine, he began chatting with the person. The fraudster told the victim that he was transferring Rs 3 lakh to his account to help with a visa renewal and shared a fake deposit receipt. He then directed the victim to coordinate with an "agent" named Manoj Kumar for further steps. He also sent Rs 15,000 to a Bank of Maharashtra account. 2nd time in less than a month, shots fired at Kapil Sharma's newly opened café in Canada
Just last weekend a community lunch was organised at this café with Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke as well as officials of the Surrey police in attendance. 'At approximately 4:40 am on 7 August, 2025, SPS Frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a business in the 8400 block of 120 Street,' it said in a statement issued Thursday, adding 'while it appears multiple shots caused damage to the windows and building, fortunately the staff on premises were uninjured'. New Delhi: Nearly a month after the first such instance, shots were fired again Thursday at TV presenter Kapil Sharma's newly opened café in Canada. Surrey Police confirmed that its officers are investigating the incident at Kap's Café in Surrey, British Columbia. Visuals of what appears to be the latest incident outside Kap's Café are being circulated on social media, with a superimposed emoticon of a smiling devil. One of India's most wanted men, Laddi has a reward of Rs 10 lakh to his name. In the purported post, certain remarks made on The Kapil Sharma Show were cited as the motive behind the attack. The post also said that a character on this show made remarks on Nihang Sikhs and calls to Sharma's manager went unanswered.
