LOS ANGELES, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Disneyland Resort in U.S. California launches its 70th anniversary celebration this week with a host of special events, new attractions, vibrant decorations, themed food and beverages, and commemorative merchandise.
The yearlong celebrations will officially open to the public on Friday, after media preview days on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Located in Anaheim, Southern California, the park is filled with a festive atmosphere, as visitors immerse themselves in the magic of Disney. The entire resort is adorned in bold shades of blue, magenta, and purple, accented with gold -- including a regal medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle.
A new upbeat theme song titled "Celebrate Happy," composed specially for the anniversary, plays throughout various entertainment experiences in the park.
At the gates of the Disneyland park, a floral arrangement of Mickey Mouse greets visitors, surrounded by vibrant flower beds. Main Street is festooned with colorful banners and bunting, further enhancing the celebratory spirit.
A daytime parade, "Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!" has returned to Disney California Adventure Park. Showcasing beloved Pixar characters, the parade highlights heartwarming stories of friendship through dynamic floats, lively music, and appearances by more than two dozen characters from films such as Luca, Turning Red, and Up.
Well-known Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals greet guests in Town Square dressed in special 70th anniversary attire, featuring bright colors and sparkling embellishments.
The celebrations also feature a dazzling nighttime parade, "Paint the Night," which lights up the park with over one million LED lights. With the help of Tinker Bell's pixie dust, Mickey Mouse uses his imagination to bring Disney and Pixar stories to life.
The parade includes characters from films such as Cars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast, enhanced with innovative floats, vibrant costumes, and special effects.
An all-new nighttime water show, "World of Color Happiness!" debuts at Paradise Bay in Adventure Park. The spectacular display explores the theme of happiness through a kaleidoscope of emotions inspired by Pixar's Inside Out and Inside Out 2.
The show combines signature fountains, lasers, fog, flame effects, and music to create a mesmerizing experience.
To mark the occasion, Disneyland has also introduced a wide range of themed food and beverage options, along with special merchandise. One highlight is the "Key to Disneyland," a collectible toy that activates features at nine interactive lock stations throughout the park.
Amanda Luna, a spokesperson for Disneyland's 70th anniversary, and a merchandising manager, told Xinhua that Chinese tourists represent a major segment of Disneyland's visitors. Disneyland attaches great importance to the Chinese market, and hopes to welcome more tourists from around the world, including China.
"Disneyland have parks in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and we will continue to partner with all of our global sites," she said.
Disney California Adventure Park also hosts Lunar New Year celebrations annually, featuring Asian cultural performances, festive cuisine, and themed entertainment.
The 70th anniversary celebrations at Disneyland Resort will continue through the summer of 2026.

Yonder Media Mobile Sues FuboTV, Seeking Tens of Millions in Damages

Lawsuit Accuses FuboTV of Using Disney Merger as 'Pretext' to Abandon Partnership NEW YORK, Aug. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Yonder Media Mobile Inc. ('YMM') announced today it has filed a lawsuit against FuboTV, Inc. ('FuboTV') (Case No.: 654014/2025 Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York). The lawsuit alleges that FuboTV's senior executives engaged in a pattern of false promises and misleading assurances for over six months, fraudulently inducing YMM into a strategic partnership and investment only to unilaterally and abruptly abandon the deal. The complaint asserts that FuboTV's abandonment of the deal came after FuboTV entered into a separate agreement with Disney, and that FuboTV cited the approvals required by that agreement as a pretext for its withdrawal from the YMM partnership. FuboTV's actions have caused YMM significant financial and reputational damage. In reliance on FuboTV's repeated representations that the strategic partnership and a substantial equity investment would be consummated, YMM dedicated millions of dollars in capital and resources to develop a FuboTV-branded mobile application and service and secured critical modifications to its pre-existing agreement with a major wireless carrier. The lawsuit asserts that FuboTV's actions, including its misrepresentation and the subsequent summary withdrawal of a compensation offer to YMM, were carried out with reckless disregard for the harm inflicted upon YMM. As a direct result of FuboTV's conduct, YMM is seeking damages exceeding tens of millions of dollars. 'We are, of course, deeply disappointed by FuboTV's misleading conduct, which caused substantial damage and a major setback for our company,' said Adam Kidron, CEO of YMM. 'This lawsuit is a necessary and resolute action to hold them accountable. Our focus remains squarely on our future, which shines brightly. We are more committed than ever to protecting our company and fulfilling our mission to provide people everywhere the next generation of mobile experiences, while delivering value to our stakeholders.' About Yonder Media Mobile Inc. YMM is a US-based mobile technology company founded in 2018. TV host Lee Teng and wife welcome rainbow baby after 2020 miscarriage

TV host Lee Teng and his wife Gina Lin are now first-time parents to a girl named Ellison. Photo: Gina Lin/Instagram Singaporean TV host Lee Teng and his Taiwanese wife Gina Lin are now first-time parents to a baby girl named Ellison. Announcing the good news on Instagram on Aug 13, he joked about how he should now be called 'Ellis' dad'. The 41-year-old thanked his wife, 32, for her unwavering perseverance in her journey to becoming a mother. Calling their newborn a 'rainbow baby', Lee recounted how the past five years had been anything but easy for the couple after they lost their first child in July 2020. Lin was six months pregnant when she suffered a miscarriage after returning to Taiwan to prepare for the birth of their baby boy, nicknamed Xiao Dou Ya (Little Bean Sprout). Lee was then in Singapore for work and could not leave the country to be with her because of Covid-19 travel restrictions. He managed to reunite with her in August that year, and they subsequently spent three months in Taiwan to heal from the grief together. He apologised to his followers for keeping their second pregnancy a secret. He said: 'My wife and I have faced countless setbacks, and there were moments when I couldn't bear to see her disappointed. At times, I asked if we should give up, simply because I couldn't stand watching her suffer. 'The wait has been long, but the moment I saw the smile on our rainbow baby's face, I knew every second was worth it.' Lee also apologised for turning down work over the past year to be with his wife. Lin shared her heartfelt post on Instagram on Aug 13, writing in Chinese that the past few years had been 'incredibly challenging'. 'Facing physical, mental and emotional strain, and concerns from everyone, I've managed to appear calm and composed. But in reality, I've become incredibly sensitive and insecure,' she admitted. She added that she had been living under a constant barrage of repressed emotions and spent almost the entire pregnancy at home. Addressing her daughter in her post, Lin said: 'Thank you for choosing me to be your mother, thank you for working so hard to grow up, thank you for giving me the courage to face my birthday and thank you for piecing together the broken me bit by bit.' She added: 'From the moment I heard your first cry, it felt so unreal. I wake up every morning and ask myself, 'Is this true?' Thank you for coming safely to us. Your father and I only hope you will be healthy and safe.' – The Straits Times/Asia News Network View this post on Instagram A post shared by Gina Lin (@ginalin)
