Yoga Day to be celebrated at Mysuru Palace Grounds on June 21
Mysuru: The International Yoga Day will be celebrated with grandeur at the Mysuru Palace Grounds on June 21. Presiding over a preparatory meeting, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) P Shivaraju emphasised the need for systematic and comprehensive arrangements to ensure the success of the event. Recognising Mysuru's global reputation as a hub for yoga, the ADC stated that around 15,000 yoga practitioners are expected to participate. The event will be held per govt protocols. Participants have been instructed to wear T-shirts and track pants and to bring their yoga mats. A rehearsal session will be conducted on June 15 for those interested in a preparatory run. Representatives and students, yoga associations, various yoga training centres, NCC, NSS, and other educational institutions are expected to participate. Shivaraju directed officials to ensure the provision of essential amenities, including ambulances, fire services, drinking water, and proper sanitation. The Mysuru City Corporation has been tasked with ensuring cleanliness and a steady water supply at the venue. KSRTC will arrange transportation for participants, and the Palace Board will provide space and volunteers to manage the crowd efficiently. Srihari of Yoga Foundation of Mysuru said, "Last year there were nearly 10,000 participants, and this year we are targeting 15,000 people. Under the guidance of ADC Shivaraju and Ayush officer, the preparation was planned well in advance. The event was meticulously planned. For all the participants, we have arranged breakfast." Participation certificates will be distributed, and officials were urged to give wide publicity to the event to encourage public involvement. On the occasion, Shivaraju also released the promotional material for Yoga Day. DDPI Javaregowda and Ayush officer Renuka Devi were also present.

Kanpur: Opener Harshwardhan's unbeaten knock of 121 runs helped Achintya XI to grab Sigma Griplock trophy under floodlight defeating Liver Pool XI by 49 runs in the final of JNT – 12 cricket tournament concluded here at Kanpur South ground on Sunday into bat, Achintya XI set a target of 198 runs for Liverpool XI. In response, Liverpool XI could collect 148 runs in stipulated 25 overs. Viraj Pal and Huzaifa Khan repaired the early damage Liverpool had suffered. Dhairya Agarwal broke their union claiming Viraj Pal on 41 and Abhinav sent back Khan as a result Liverpool was reduced to 113runs. Earlier, Achintya Insurance XI after being invited to bat first posted a healthy total of 1 for 197 runs in 25 overs.
