Top recruit Babatunde Oladotun reclassifies to 2026
Oladotun, 16, expects to remain a top-10 prospect when the next recruiting rankings are updated. He will turn 17 in December.
"First and foremost, I am ahead of schedule academically and will graduate next year," Oladuton told ESPN. "Most of my life, I have played up in age and after playing in the 17U division for Team Durant, I felt comfortable. I have gained 20 pounds over the last year and it never felt like I was playing up."
Several high-profile programs are already attempting to land the 6-foot-9 forward, including Maryland, Kansas, Kentucky, Duke and Gonzaga.
Oladotun plans to visit Maryland and Virginia Tech first, and previously made unofficial visits to UCLA and USC last year.
"We are looking for a coach that has a long history of teaching and winning," his father, Ibrahim, told ESPN. "Someone who knows how to use a big guard and has a history of coaching big guards. A coach that also plays an NBA-style offense with quick actions."
Oladotun burst onto the scene after adding 20 pounds over the past year and starring for Team Durant's 17U team, combining sharp-shooting ability from 3-point range with a deft touch inside the arc.
By reclassifying, Oladotun becomes a favorite to be invited to next year's McDonald's All American boys game with the potential to be a top-10 draft pick in 2027.
Oladotun's father, Ibrahim Oladotun, played two years at Virginia Tech in the early 1990s after beginning his journey in junior college, averaging 2.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.
Babatunde follows the path taken by former top prospects AJ Dybantsa and Cooper Flagg, who also reclassified to begin their college careers early.

Braintree advances to Little League World Series
The Braintree Little League team is heading to Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Braintree American 12A team advanced to the Little League World Series Thursday night with a 3-2 win in extra innings over Bedford, New Hampshire in the New England Regional Championship game in Bristol, Connecticut. Braintree scored on a passed ball with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning. With Thursday night's win, Braintree improved to a perfect 17-0 this summer. After a quick hero's welcome back home this weekend, Braintree will head out to Williamsport for the Little League World Series, where they'll face the Southeast champs from Irmo, South Carolina. Braintree's opening-round tilt in the Little League World Series against Irmo is set for Thursday, August 14 at 3 p.m. The game will air on ESPN. The path Braintree has taken to Williamsport can be summed up on one word: Dominance. After sweeping their summer slate and winning the District 8 tournament, the Section 2 tournament, and the Massachusetts state tournament, the Braintree Little Leaguers advanced to the town's first-ever New England Regionals. They had no issues in Bristol, Connecticut, either. Last Saturday, Braintree needed just three innings to crush Team Maine to the tune of 15-0. On Monday, they dispatched Vermont 10-0, with the game called in the fifth inning. Braintree hadn't allowed a run over eight innings in the New England Regional entering Thursday's win. Braintree is the first Massachusetts team to win the New England Regional since Middleboro Little League in 2022. Massachusetts teams have won five New England regional titles since 2001.

Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 21 - Noah Clowney (2023-25)
The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 22nd of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 21, which has has had a total of 26 players wear the number in the history of the team. The 26th of those players wearing No. 21 played in the Brooklyn Nets era, big man alum Noah Clowney. After ending his college career at Alabama, Clowney was picked up with the 21st overall selection of the 2023 NBA Draft by the Nets. The Spartanburg, South Carolina native has played both seasons of his NBA career with Brooklyn since, and remains with the tea at the time of writing. JJ Redick identifies biggest key to Bronny James making it in the NBA
After all the initial criticism surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers' decision to take Bronny James in the second round of last year's NBA draft, there is now some tangible optimism that he can eventually become a legitimate NBA player after all. He put up strong numbers in the G League this past season, and after a slow start to his summer league stint last month, he finished it with three solid performances in a row. He still has a long way to go, but now some are saying that he could crack the Lakers' rotation as soon as this coming season. Coach JJ Redick said the big key for the 20-year-old guard is his fitness and conditioning. Via ESPN: "The biggest thing for Bronny is that he has to get in elite shape," Redick told ESPN. "That's the barrier of entry for him right now. And if he does that, I think he's got a chance to be a really fantastic player in the NBA." Redick said right after the Lakers were knocked out of the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs that the team needed to get into championship shape. That comment was widely interpreted as being directed at Luka Doncic, who has gotten into better shape this summer, but it was also likely a case of Redick setting expectations right away as far as what everyone needed to do during the offseason. James admitted that he still has some aftereffects from the cardiac arrest episode he dealt with two years ago. But he is on a positive trajectory, and as long as he's dedicated to his craft, perhaps he will make many skeptics eat their words in the near future.
