Hawn and Russell have always been vocal about what keeps their romance thriving. "You have to have good sex," Hawn told E! News at MindUP's The Goldie Hawn Foundation charity event in September, when asked about building a long-lasting relationship.
'Because sex is something that connects you and creates more belonging. People who have healthy sexual relationships usually last a lot longer," she added. "But it's not just because of the act, it's because of the warmth and the intimacy that it creates."

Can you spot the fake? The AI ‘bootlegs' that have infuriated Disney

Disney and Universal have filed a lawsuit against a tech firm that creates AI-generated images of characters including Shrek and the Minions. The two media giants have mounted a claim against Midjourney accusing the company of making and distributing 'innumerable' copies of characters from their libraries without permission. In the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, the film studios said: 'By helping itself to plaintiffs' copyrighted works, and then distributing images (and soon videos) that blatantly incorporate and copy Disney's and Universal's famous characters – without investing a penny in their creation – Midjourney is the quintessential copyright free-rider and a bottomless pit of plagiarism.' They added that the alleged copyright infringement was 'calculated and wilful'. Midjourney has been contacted for comment. Midjourney is a popular generative AI software that allows users to create images from text prompts. For example, if a subscriber asks Midjourney to generate an image of Yoda in a particular setting or carrying out a certain action, the software will oblige with a high-quality and downloadable image. The quality of the images is such that they are often impossible to distinguish from the authentic, copyrighted versions. Can you spot the difference? Test your ability to spot the AI fake with our quiz. Midjourney made revenues of $300m last year through what Disney and Universal branded a 'bootlegging business model'. The Hollywood studios accuse the San Francisco-based tech company of ignoring their requests to stop infringing their copyright, or to at least adopt new technological measures to prevent the practice. They allege that Midjourney instead 'doubled down' on its actions by releasing newer versions of its AI image generation software and teasing a new video service. The lawsuit references a range of copyrighted characters including Darth Vader from Star Wars, Elsa from Frozen, Lightning McQueen from Cars, Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear, Sully from Monster's Inc, Marvel's Iron Man and Homer Simpson from The Simpsons. Disney and Universal have asked for a preliminary injunction to prevent future copyright infringement and are seeking unspecified damages from Midjourney. It comes amid a broader battle between AI companies and the creative industries over concerns the new technology is riding roughshod over copyright protections. Sir Elton John has described the actions of tech companies as 'thievery on a high scale'. While major record labels and publishers are already locked in legal battles with AI companies over copyright disputes, the lawsuit marks the first time large Hollywood studios have entered the fray. Horacio Gutierrez, Disney's chief legal and compliance officer, said: 'Our world-class IP is built on decades of financial investment, creativity and innovation – investments only made possible by the incentives embodied in copyright law that give creators the exclusive right to profit from their works. 'We are bullish on the promise of AI technology and optimistic about how it can be used responsibly as a tool to further human creativity. But piracy is piracy, and the fact that it's done by an AI company does not make it any less infringing.' Kim Harris, NBCUniversal's general counsel, said: 'We are bringing this action today to protect the hard work of all the artists whose work entertains and inspires us and the significant investment we make in our content. 'Theft is theft regardless of the technology used, and this action involves blatant infringement of our copyrights.' It is not the first time Midjourney, which was founded in 2021, has been accused of misusing copyrighted material to train its AI model. Alongside rivals including Stability AI, Midjourney is currently facing a lawsuit filed by 10 artists who accused the tech companies of copying and storing their work without permission. In a 2022 interview, Midjourney chief executive Holz said he built the company's database by performing 'a big scrape of the internet.'. Asked whether he sought consent of the artists, he responded: 'There isn't really a way to get a hundred million images and know where they're coming from.' Harper Steele takes center stage at SF Pride

Harper Steele isn't new to Pride parades, but this year's will feel a bit different when she takes on the role of celebrity grand marshal for what she calls "the mother of Pride parades." The big picture: The Los Angeles-based trans comedy writer and producer will anchor San Francisco's celebration of LGBTQ+ resilience amid an uptick in anti-trans incidents across the country. Steele's "visibility and vulnerability are a powerful reminder that queer people can and must be celebrated in every context," SF Pride executive director Suzanne Ford said in a statement on Steele's involvement. State of play: Steele's connection to the Bay Area runs deep. Since first hitch hiking to San Francisco in her 20s, she has often returned to see friends and spend time with record collections at Amoeba and Rasputin. Places like San Francisco are "beacons" for many LGBTQ+ people, she told Axios. "My own journey, much of that was true." Flashback: Steele grew up in Iowa City with "a skewed understanding of what it meant to be trans," as if it was "something psychologically deviant," she said. "I stuck to that for a while." After navigating gender dysphoria for decades, she transitioned at age 59 and started coming out to friends in 2021. "With a lot of trans people, that all-in moment happens three or four times, and then you retreat, advance, retreat," she said. "But at age 59, I didn't like the idea of getting older and not being authentic to myself." Between the lines: Steele became more widely known after " Will & Harper," a 2024 documentary that followed her and longtime friend Will Ferrell on a road trip across America. The film was Ferrell's idea, and it took her a while to agree. "I was thinking about anti-trans bills passing across the country, and then I thought, 'Well, there's some use I can get out of this very popular actor... maybe more people will see this.'" What they're saying:"I do think there's an environment where trans children can grow up in today's world... with less shame and guilt or no shame or guilt, which is the way we should all be allowed to grow," said Steele, who is now working on a memoir. Though she acknowledged it's "very idealistic thinking," she remains "hopeful we can change hearts and minds for those young people."

Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom reportedly plan to split after her tour — as relationship breakdown is revealed

Trouble in paradise? Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom reportedly plan to break up after the 'Firework' singer finishes her current 'Lifetimes' tour later this year. 'It's over,' a source told Page Six on Tuesday. 'They are waiting till her tour is over before they split.' The 40-year-old pop star's current tour kicked off on April 23 and is scheduled to run until Dec. 7. Other insiders have also claimed that Perry and Bloom, 48, are going through a rough patch and 'spending more and more time' away from one another. 'They have been spending more and more time apart,' another source told Us Weekly this week. 'They've grown apart and aren't living the same lives anymore.' 'It's an unspoken thing that they are having issues and have for a while now,' a second insider told the outlet. 'Everyone around them knows.' Although Bloom has allegedly been keeping his and Perry's relationship problems 'close to the vest,' he has been 'out and about more often' without his 'Hot N Cold' singer fiancée. 'Katy has been very busy working, and they are apart often,' the second source added. 'That has caused tension.' However, additional insiders have claimed that the tension in Perry and Bloom's relationship started with the pop star's poorly received '143' album upon its release back in Sept. Even though the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor was said to be 'understanding' of Perry's frustration, the situation reportedly still caused friction between the pair. 'Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,' a source told People on Monday. 'It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.' 'She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews,' they added. 'It's put stress on their relationship.' Insiders close to the 'I Kissed a Girl' singer and 'Troy' actor have also pointed to the fact that the pair have still not tied the knot despite being engaged since 2019 as a serious point of contention. '[Perry and Bloom] never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything and Orlando is over it,' a source close to the couple told Us Weekly. 'Things aren't good,' another insider added. The couple first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016. Bloom proposed three years later on Valentine's Day, and they welcomed a daughter, Daisy Dove, 4, in August 2020. However, Perry and Bloom split for a year in 2017. The 'Last Friday Night' hitmaker opened up about that breakup in 2024 during an appearance on the popular 'Call Her Daddy' podcast. 'We weren't really in it from day one,' Perry explained at the time. 'He was in a way because he had just done a time of celibacy and he had set intentions.' 'I was fresh out of a relationship,' she added, 'and I was just like, 'I can't do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond.'' The Post has reached out to Perry and Bloom's reps for comment.
