Report: Nets to play Hapoel Jerusalem during 2025-26 NBA preseason
According to Basketball News Australia, the Nets will be facing Israel's Hapoel Jerusalem, a professional basketball club based in the City of Jerusalem that competes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, as part of their preseason slate for the 2025-26 campaign. Basketball News Australia's post on X says that this matchup will happen on Oct. 4 and according to NetsDaily, "The reports are likely accurate, per a league source."
As Brian Lewis of the New York Post pointed out, this won't be the first time that Brooklyn has faced a professional basketball team from Israel as they played against Maccabi Ra'anana during the 2023-24 preseason. What makes this preseason game, assuming that it happens, more interesting is due to the fact that the Nets drafted two players with ties to Israel, guard Ben Saraf and forward Danny Wolf.
Much of the NBA schedule for the 2025-26 season is still unknown, but it seems like the one international team that the Nets will be playing during their preseason slate will be from Israel. In addition to the reported matchup against Hapoel Jerusalem, it should be noted that the NBA announced that the Nets and Phoenix Suns would play two of their preseason games at the Venetian Arena in Macau, China.
Those games would mark the first ones played in China for both the Nets and the NBA since the 2019 preseason, when the Nets met the Los Angeles Lakers. With that being the backdrop, it seems that the Nets will be getting a lot of international experience before the 2025-26 NBA regular season begins with all of the matchups that they have ahead of them.

Jayson Tatum takes in Patriots-Commanders joint practice without a walking boot
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was in Foxboro on Wednesday to take in the joint practice between the New England Patriots and the Washington Commanders. He did so without a boot on his right foot or a noticeable limp as he walked around the sideline. It looks like Tatum is doing well in his recovery from the torn Achilles he suffered three months ago in the NBA playoffs. He was moving around well as he watched Wednesday's practice, which is a welcome sight for Celtics fans patiently awaiting his return. The Celtics will not put a timeline on his recovery, though the expectation is Tatum will miss the entire 2025-26 season. But he's ditched his walking boot and doesn't appear to have a hitch in his step, sure signs the 27-year-old is making progress. After practice, Tatum had a chance to chat up Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels and several Patriots players. That included New England quarterback Drake Maye, who we are happy to report doesn't have any bad blood with Tatum despite their college allegiances. Tatum was a star in his one season at Duke. Maye made a name for himself at the University of North Carolina. In theory, the two should despise each other. That is not the case though. Maye is now a Boston sports fan, and he has loved watching Tatum in Green. "Yeah, shoot, he's a Duke guy, but what he's done for Boston," said Maye. "And obviously, I told him it was a heartbreak what happened to him. I look forward to seeing him come back." Maye previously met Tatum ahead of Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers, when the C's star gave him a signed jersey. Maye was rocking the jersey as he took in Boston's Game 1 win courtside at TD Garden. Maye played some hoop himself in high school, but won't compare himself to Tatum. "He's got probably a way bigger bag than I do," said Maye. The QB did share a funny story about his older brother, Luke, going up against Tatum. Luke was a member of the Tar Heels during Tatum's only season at Duke in 2016-17, and was tasked with guarding him for one of the heated Duke-UNC showdowns. "His first start was in Cameron [Indoor Stadium] against Duke, and he was guarding Jayson his first start," Maye recalled. "So it was pretty cool." Tatum scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds that game, but shot just 5-for-14 in the contest. Maye scored eight points for North Carolina, though Duke was victorious, 86-78. The Blue Devils also beat the Tar Heels in the ACC Tournament that year, but UNC got the last laugh as they won the NCAA Championship while Duke was knocked out in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Myles Garrett: Shedeur Sanders works hard, takes his craft seriously
The Browns will start Shedeur Sanders at quarterback on Friday, giving him his first professional game action — albeit in the preseason. Star defensive end Myles Garrett was asked about his impressions of Sanders in his Wednesday press conference following Cleveland's joint practice with Carolina. Garrett has been spotted at times chatting with Sanders on the field between reps throughout training camp. 'I mean, he's funny, he's optimistic, lighthearted, but he works hard," Garrett said, via transcript from the team. "He takes it seriously, his craft and he's watching what the others are doing and doing it his own way, in which only he can. So, looking forward to see him on these preseason games and how he manages the offense. But I think he looks good, but all the guys look good right now. "[H]e's definitely coming to me a couple times to see what I'm thinking [when] I'm going through my rush or what the defense's mentality is.' A fifth-round pick in this year's draft, Sanders has mainly been working with the second- and third-team offense during training camp. Those are the players he'll be on the field with on Friday night, as head coach Kevin Stefanski said the plan is to rest most starters after they received most of the reps in Wednesday's joint practice.

Titans hit the road for joint practices and preseason games against Bucs and Falcons
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans practiced in Music City on Wednesday morning and then headed out for their longest preseason road trip since the franchise left Texas in 1997. Second-year coach Brian Callahan scheduled not one, but two sets of joint practices around back-to-back road games starting Thursday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He sees nine nights away from Nashville as a way to create more of an old training camp vibe for a young team. 'That's sort of the intent of the whole trip,' Callahan said. 'Spend some time, get a chance to grow together, and then get to go play against some other teams.' Callahan also wants to hear the reviews from the Buccaneers, then the Atlanta Falcons on what they think of how the Titans compete. He sees this as a chance for a starting point of what the Titans can be this year. 'And get a change to do some things as a team on the road, some events together, things like that,' Callahan said. 'It's something I'm really looking forward to. Can't wait.' The Titans, who went 3-14 in Callahan's debut season, will be away from Nashville for nine straight nights. They won't practice again in Nashville until Aug. 19 before wrapping up the preseason by hosting Minnesota on Aug. 22. After opening this preseason Saturday night against Tampa Bay, the Titans go to Atlanta for two joint practices and a game Aug. 15. Left tackle Dan Moore has had only one joint practice with Pittsburgh, and that was last year. This will be a bit of a new experience, though Moore is familiar to going away to camp with the Steelers a regular at Latrobe, Pennsylvania. 'Obviously, we're on a business trip, but we'll have some free time, some downtime," Moore said. "We'll be in the hotel. Guys can hang out, do stuff together and go places, go eat, whatever. And I think that's a good time for us to just bond as team and build chemistry.' Bonding can only help a franchise that has added 37 free agents, nine drafted rookies and five more players added off waivers through Sunday — a total of 51 players in training camp. Safety Quandre Diggs isn't new after playing eight games for Tennessee last season before going on injured reserve. He signed Tuesday, and the Titans are easing him back into the mix. He recognizes a lot of faces on the roster, including his cousin, rookie quarterback Cam Ward. 'It's different when you walk in the locker room and you see your family, like real family," the three-time Pro Bowl safety said of Ward. "And so it was cool.' Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson has been trying to throw every look possible at Ward to help prep the No. 1 draft pick overall for the season opener Sept. 7 at Denver. Now the Titans will get a glimpse of how other NFL defenses might challenge the rookie. 'He's a grown man to me,' wide receiver Calvin Ridley said of Ward.
