Kaizer Chiefs news: Flavio Antonio da Silva

A section of Kaizer Chiefs fans have written off the striker Flavio Silva after just a couple of practice matches in preseason.
The strange chatter prompted the club's leadership to address this judgment directly, as the club's Head of Marketing, Jessica Motaung, stepped forward to calm the waters.

Motaung reminded the public that pre-season is exactly the time to manage player fitness and that no judgment should be made before the new striker gets enough time to show his readiness.

Motaung also reminded supporters that patience and trust are essential, especially when integrating new or recovering players into the team.
'Look, Flavio has joined us at a certain stage of pre-season,' Motaung said. 'Everyone is in different phases of their preparation, and he's on schedule with where he should be.'
Acknowledging the concerns, Motaung continued, 'We want to make sure we do things right, not rush him back. He's getting the right treatment, training and monitoring. By the time competitive matches start, you will see him ready. There's no need for people to worry now.'
Finally, Motaung said: What we need from everyone—fans, media, club—is time and patience. He'll show what he can do when everything comes together.'

Kaizer Chiefs: Six matches but ONLY three goals scored

Former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Tsepo Masilela is concerned about Amakhosi's attack going into the new season. The Soweto giants only signed Flavio da Silva in the attacking department, having parted ways with Ranga Chivaviro. In the six matches they played so far in pre-season, Chiefs only netted three times. Speaking on Soccer Beat, the retired defender said it should concern the management that Amakhosi have only scored three times so far in pre-season. 'They need goals; if you don't score goals, you don't win soccer games. Listen, they've played six games, if I'm not mistaken and they have only scored three goals. Masilela said it should worry Kaizer Chiefs given the fact that they failed to score against a side like Asante Kotoko. 'If you struggle to score against them, then it's a worry going into the league, you're going to face stronger opposition, more organised and they can hurt you.' To be honest, they don't look ready, especially looking at their final game. I'm also going to mention Lilepo, how he came last season and how everyone was talking about him. Since pre-season, he hasn't threatened; he has dropped a bit. It tells you that they need to work very hard in attack,' Masilela said. When asked if Chiefs should sign former Orlando Pirates star Zakhele Lepasa, he felt the lanky striker might not be fit enough. 'My worry with Lepasa is that he hasn't played football in a while and we don't know how long it will take for him to get back into the groove,' he said. 'He is available for free if they can get a deal done. We are not seeing much of Ashley (Du Preez), or (Tashreeq) Morris, so we need three or four upfront,' he said. The former Bafana Bafana left-back encouraged Kaizer Chiefs to sign Dzenan Zajmovic. He has good touches, has football brains and he can link up play, drop and play in spaces. That's what i like, he is more involved, he is not just a guy waiting to score goals,' he added. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Lepasa and Zajmovic

Kaizer Chiefs are urged to sign either Zakhele Lepasa or Dzenan Zajmovic before the duo are snatched up by another team. Amakhosi have only signed one striker this transfer window, which is Flavio da Silva. The 29-year-old has not found the net yet, but looked promising this past weekend against Asante Kotoko. Speaking on Soccer Bea t, former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach said Nasreddine Nabi would need to assess what he wants before signing Lepasa. 'First thing I will ask you is what is the coach's game model? what is his technical approach? Because we've seen in the past, they wanted a big guy upfront, they signed Chivaviro and it didn't work out.' 'If you look at Lepasa, he is more of a false 9 guy, coming deep, getting the ball and making space, but in the 63 games he played, he only scored 16 goals and made two assists. Okay, he was injured for a time last season, but we know Hugo Broos saw the quality in him (Lepasa), that's why he chose him for Bafana,' said the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach. Former Bafana Bafana left-back felt Lepasa might not be a good Amakhosi based on his fitness. 'My worry with Lepasa is that he hasn't played football in a while and we don't know how long it will take for him to get back into the groove,' he said. 'He is available for free if they can get a deal done. We are not seeing much of Ashley (Du Preez), or (Tashreeq) Morris, so we need three or four upfront,' Masilela said. The former Bafana Bafana left-back encouraged Kaizer Chiefs to sign Dzenan Zajmovic ahead of Lepasa. He has good touches, has football brains and he can link up play, drop and play in spaces. That's what I like, he is more involved, he is not just a guy waiting to score goals,' he added. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
