El Paso driver dies in 2-car collision on Delta Drive next to Chamizal National Memorial
A driver has died following a weekend two-car collision in South El Paso next to the Chamizal National Memorial, police officials said.
Javier Camacho Armendariz, 58, of Central El Paso, died at at hospital following a traffic collision late Friday night, March 7, police said in a Monday news release.

The wreck occurred at 11:52 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Delta Drive and South San Marcial Street, which runs between the Chamizal National Memorial and Bowie High School, police said.
Alfredo De Santiago, 26, of the East Side, was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Arteon westbound on Delta as Armendariz was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Impala southbound on San Marcial Street, police said.
The police Special Traffic Investigations Unit determined that Armendariz tried to make a left turn onto Delta Street, failed to yield the right of way and collided with the Volkswagen, police said. Armendariz was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The wreck was the tenth traffic-related death in El Paso this year compared with 12 at the same time last year, police reported.

An Indianapolis man is accused of driving off after causing a crash that damaged two other vehicles in Highland in December. The woman driving the 2020 Ford said she was approaching the Martha Street intersection on Indianapolis Boulevard when she saw a Chevrolet Impala stick the front bumper of the Infiniti SUV, causing her vehicle to strike it, records state. Meanwhile, she saw the Impala flee the scene. Surveillance video from a nearby car wash showed the Impala stopped in its parking lot before pulling out and turning left, colliding with the SUV, the affidavit states. The Impala came to a stop after the crash and Ware was seen exiting the driver's side of his vehicle. He then re-entered the car and drove off, records state. Video showed the Impala's license plate number which was registered to Ware of Indianapolis.

One dead following two-car crash in Union County
NEW ALBANY – A Union County man was killed in a two-car crash east of New Albany Wednesday morning. The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 30 in the Keownville community in Union County on June 4 around 5:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation determined that Joshua N. Smith, 33, of New Albany, traveled west on Highway 30 in a 2014 Chevrolet Impala when it collided with the eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Nathaniel E. Neal, 20, of Tupeloi. Smith received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
