Josie Gibson's major new role at ITV as This Morning presenter takes on personal project
Josie Gibson will soon be seen on ITV's This Morning as she stands in for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard while they take a break this summer. She'll also star in an ITV show. This Morning's Josie Gibson is set to transform her Somerset abode into the "dream home" she's always envisioned in an upcoming ITV series. The 40 year old television personality, who rose to fame after clinching victory on Big Brother in 2010, has since presented a variety of shows including Channel 5's Around The World In First Class and Channel 4's Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide With Josie Gibson. In addition to finishing fourth in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023, Gibson has become a familiar face on This Morning and is gearing up to cover for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard during their summer hiatus. Hailing from Bristol, the TV favourite is embarking on a project to revamp her Somerset residence with an emphasis on sustainable living. Her plans include installing a subterranean heat pump, cultivating her own produce, and establishing beehives on the property. Josie expressed her aspirations: "My dream is to build a house as eco and luxurious as possible, where you are immersed in the sanctuary of nature." She further elaborated on her vision: "I want to use the acres of land to try my best to have a little small holding. I want bees, birds, badgers to all live in harmony." However, she also voiced concerns about the project: "Though I'm becoming increasingly concerned that my harmonious dream is slowly turning into a construction nightmare. I can't wait to bring the audience along on this journey with me." Gibson won't be tackling the renovation solo; she'll be drawing on the expertise of her brothers, Josh and Charlie, who are scrap metal traders, and her cousin Tom. Together, they aim to construct a haven complete with an on-site gym, a walk-in wardrobe, and tinted windows. The seven-part series, Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, is set to air across ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player in 2026. Katie Rawcliffe, Director of entertainment and daytime for ITV, commented: "She's done a stint in the jungle and tackled all manner of outlandish tasks on This Morning, but our audiences are about to see a completely new side to Josie Gibson as she embraces country life and takes sustainable living to a whole new level." In a recent interview, Josie opened up about the challenges of juggling motherhood with her career. She said: "I often suffer from mum guilt. I beat myself up that I'm not with Reggie all the time because you never get that time back with your kid." Despite the tough choices she faced while forging her path in television, Josie now enjoys a more harmonious work-life balance. Reflecting on her journey, she revealed: "There was a point where I worked a lot - far too much - but I needed to get where I wanted to be, and I sacrificed time with him and that was really sad. These days, I have much more of a balance."

BBC 'masterpiece' period drama based on 'greatest book of all time' leaves viewers speechless
The BBC period drama is based on a very famous novel and has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. A BBC TV adaptation of a very famous novel has caught the attention of impressed viewers who have branded it a "true masterpiece". There have been several adaptations of Charlotte Brontë's famous 1847 novel Jane Eyre, but one in particular has left fans raving. The BBC's adaptation of Jane Eyre follows the early life of the titular character, who is raised as a poor relation in the household of her aunt, Mrs. Reed. Jane receives cruel treatment from her aunt and cousins and is put into an orphanage. When she is old enough to work, she is hired by the housekeeper of Thornfield Hall, Mrs. Fairfax, to be a governess for young Adèle (Cosima Littlewood) at the country estate. However, when she becomes entangled with the brooding master of Thornfield Hall, Edward Fairfax Rochester, his dark past threatens to destroy their relationship. The four-episode show, which hit screens in 2006, is directed by Susanna White and written by Sandy Welch, the Express reports. Ruth Wilson stars as Jane while Toby Stephens portrays Edward. The cast also features Lorraine Ashbourne, Pam Ferris and Andrew Buchan. The BBC series was a hit with fans and dominated the 2007 award season, scooping up a BAFTA and three Primetime Emmy Awards. Jane Eyre currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It is based on Charlotte Brontë's book, which is widely considered to be one of the greatest novels of all time. Praising Brontë's work online, one wrote: "Everyone should be a fan of Jane Eyre, it's the greatest novel ever." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! It is now my favorite. If you're thinking of reading it, do not hesitate and read it immediately because you'll regret the moments you spent without reading this masterpiece!" A third chimed in: "This is easily a five star book for me. I love the way that this is written— beautiful, descriptive, and brilliant. "Some may take the descriptive aspect as a weakness, but for me, it was an important addition to the emotional impact of the book. Story wise, I have no words. The angst of the plot will keep you going." Someone else wrote: "Jane Eyre (greatest novel of all time IMO". A fifth penned: "Marvellous!!! It really was and still is one of the best novels of all time." The series has also received similar levels of praise with one viewer declaring: "Okay but the 2006 BBC masterpiece Jane Eyre is…… I don't know, a perfect series." A second said: "I highly recommend Jane Eyre from 2006 or 2007 with Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson, a true masterpiece." Another impressed fan questioned: "Is there a show out there that can possibly contend with the BBC 's 2006 miniseries masterpiece Jane Eyre? unlikely." Someone else commented: "This is the most beautiful adaptation of Jane Eyre. The acting is all round superb. "Eyre and Rochester are full of soul, something lacking in other depictions that only focus on the seriousness of the characters, often failing to portray their passion." Expressing their admiration for the show, a fifth added: "This show did not need to be this well done. They could've left it to be like other book tv show adaptations… yet they delivered!!! "They understood the assignment and did the extra credit!! They knew it could be the greatest, and aimed higher!! Loved the acting, loved the set, the music, the directing!! Everything is so good!"

Complex murder mystery series hailed as 'breathless whodunnit' comes to Disney+
Described as a "breathless whodunit," the 2019 series Dublin Murders arrives on Disney+ giving viewers a new opportunity to watch into the complex mysterious murder series. Disney+ has just added the highly praised BBC crime drama Dublin Murders to its streaming platform, giving viewers in the UK a new opportunity to dive into the gripping eight-part series that previously left fans hooked. Starring Killian Scott and Sarah Greene, the series is based on the first two novels of Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad series, In the Woods and The Likeness. Described as a "breathless whodunnit," the story follows detectives Rob Reilly (Scott) and Cassie Maddox (Greene) as they investigate the disturbing murder of a young girl on the outskirts of Dublin. The case proves to be extremely close to home for Rob, who as a child was the lone survivor of a mysterious incident in the same woods, where two other children vanished and were never found . As the investigation progresses, Rob is forced to confront repressed memories and a potential link between the current case and his own traumatic past, building intense psychological tension throughout the series. Meanwhile, Cassie is pulled into a chillingly personal twist when the body of Lexie Madison is discovered, a woman who not only looks identical to her, but who had been living under an alias Cassie once used in a past undercover mission. Cassie is then told to go undercover as the deceased Lexie in a dangerous operation where she has to infiltrate a group of enigmatic university students to uncover the truth behind her death. The official synopsis reads: "Set during the height of the Celtic Tiger financial boom of the millennium, follow two murder investigations led by ambitious and charismatic Detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox. The victims are seemingly unrelated, but are knitted together by powerful shared themes." Originally released in 2019 on BBC One and Starz, Dublin Murders was created and written by Sarah Phelps. It received widespread critical acclaim and holds a high 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers can now stream all eight episodes on Disney+ with a subscription as well as BBC iPlayer for free. Critics praise the drama for its suspenseful storytelling and complex characters. While The Independent called the series "unusually inventive," and the London Evening Standard stated it was better than most, writing: "Murders are bad everywhere. Dublin Murders, though, the new BBC crime drama by Sarah Phelps? Very good. In fact, better than many crime dramas." Additionally The Guardian described it as a "tasty slice of cut-and-come-again cake." Fans have also shared their own reviews on the show on Rotten Tomatoes. One viewer wrote: "Liked all the main characters and the quirky characters they were. People with different agendas are trying to solve a murder mystery." "Interpersonal entanglements abound. I want to know when the next season will start filming!!!! The ending was a complete shock with some unfinished stories," they concluded. As another simply stated: "Love this show. It has great acting and is very suspenseful, a very good show I highly recommend."
