Prayers Pouring In For Patriots Coach After Monday's Health Scare
The NFL community is rallying around New England Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams this week.
Williams reunited with Mike Vrabel in New England earlier this year. He was an assistant for Vrabel on the Tennessee Titans from 2018-2023. Last season, however, he was the defensive line coach for the Detroit Lions.
Earlier this offseason, Williams had to miss rookie minicamp due to a medical condition. It was a scary situation for the 51-year-old coach, but he bounced back in time for training camp.
"Football is a job that obviously there is some stress involved. Just eating right. Working out. If you're supposed to take any medication, take it. Like I told the players, we all think we're invincible," Williams told ESPN's Mike Reiss. "I think a lot of times, when there are things you can prevent, and you don't prevent them, that's just not being smart. That's what I've done the last couple of years, even longer. I've ignored doctors. I've ignored everyone and just kind of lived my life. While it was fun, I realize you have to take care of yourself. That's what I'm doing."
Unfortunately, Williams suffered yet another health scare this Monday at training camp.
It was reported that Williams collapsed on the sideline during Monday afternoon's practice. A stretcher was brought out for the veteran coach, but he was able to walk off under his own power. According to multiple reports, he was treated for dehydration.
Over the past few hours, NFL fans have extended their thoughts and prayers to Williams.
"Wishing the best for Terrell," one fan said.
"Awful news. He's been battling. Hope he's alright," a second fan commented.
"I just know he can coach the heck out of a defense," a third fan added. "Hope he's ok!"
"Oh man this is horrible. Hopefully Terrell will be able to bounce back," another person wrote.
Since Williams was unable to finish Monday's practice, linebackers coach Zak Kuhr took over as the defensive play-caller for the Patriots.

I'm not sure if you've heard, but everyone's least favorite Health and Human Services Secretary, RFK Jr., recently announced that he's cancelling $500 million in funding for mRNA vaccine development. mRNA vaccines, which stand for messenger ribonucleic acid (RNA), are "highly effective" and "safe," according to the National Council on Aging, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of older adults in the US. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the mRNA vaccine helps teach your body to fight infectious diseases. More specifically, mRNA technology is utilized in the COVID-19 vaccine, which infectious disease experts say is what helped to slow the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak in the US. In a now-viral X video, RFK Jr. tried to explain the funding cuts saying, "HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risk than benefits for these respiratory viruses." Twitter: @SecKennedy According to CBS News, RFK Jr. reiterated that "HHS supports safe, effective vaccines for every American who wants them." Following these vaccine funding cuts, millions have expressed deep concern for the future of medicine, as well as the impact of future pandemics in the US. South Carolina team stuns defending champions Florida with wild walk-off to earn trip to Little League World Series
A team from South Carolina is headed to Williamsport for the first time, thanks to a wild walk-off win over the defending Little League World Series champions. A group from Irmo, South Carolina, knocked off the group from Lake Mary, Florida, on Wednesday in stunning fashion. Florida took a 4-0 lead into the final inning, but pitcher Jacob Brown opened with a pair of walks and then hit his pitch limit after securing one out. His relief pitcher gave up a single before two more walks, one of which was intentional, to bring up Brady Westbrooks. Westbrooks then hit a three-RBI double with a deep line drive to the left-field wall with two outs to steal the 5-4 win, which sparked a massive celebration on the field. Florida was a perfect 3-0 up until Wednesday in their regional site, and had outscored opponents 26-1. They rolled over South Carolina 14-0 when they played on Sunday, too. Florida beat Chinese Taipei 2-1 in extra innings to win the Little League World Series last year. The tournament hasn't seen a back-to-back champion since Tokyo pulled it off in 2012 and 2013. The Little League World Series will open on August 13. The U.S. and International Championship games are scheduled for August 23, and the World Series Championship will take place on August 24. The Seattle Mariners and New York Mets will participate in the Little League Classic at Bowman Field in Williamsport this year, too.
