Low-flying aircraft in conjunction with RMAF chief's Retirement Parade
According to a statement from the RMAF today, the flights are in conjunction with the Retirement Parade of the 20th RMAF chief General Tan Sri Mohd Asghar Khan Goriman Khan, which will be held at the Subang Air Base on June 26.
'In this regard, the RMAF would like to inform the public not to be alarmed or worried if they observe low-flying aircraft,' the statement read.
Mohd Asghar Khan has served in the RMAF for over 42 years since joining on July 18, 1983, as a Cadet Officer at the Royal Military College (RMC).
He began his career as a fighter pilot in 1985 and has flown the A4 Skyhawk, F-5E, MiG-29N and Sukhoi 30MKM fighter aircraft.
Mohd Asghar Khan has held the position of RMAF chief since March 7, 2022, succeeding General Tan Sri Ackbal Abdul Samad, who retired mandatorily.

Adding a special touch to his patriotic display, the food stall owner never hesitates to spend his own money on hundreds of mini flags, small tokens he happily hands out to the public, especially children who are fascinated by his flag-covered motorcycle. "Each day, I'll make my way to two or three popular spots like Teluk Cempedak and Dataran Sekilau, carrying a loudspeaker. I'll park my motorcycle, play patriotic songs such as Inilah Barisan Kita, and do my part to lift the community's Merdeka spirit," said the former Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) personnel, who served for 13 years from 1981. "And when I see children asking for the flags on my motorcycle, I feel bad to say no. So I give them another Jalur Gemilang to make them happy," he added with a smile. A father of three, Pak Mus said the encouragement he receives from the public fuels his passion to continue the tradition he began in 2019. His initiative has also drawn warm responses from Malaysians of all backgrounds as well as tourists, who often stop to take pictures with him. British fighter jet makes emergency landing at Japan airport
KAGOSHIMA (Bernama-Kyodo): A British F-35 stealth fighter jet made an emergency landing today at Kagoshima Airport in southwestern Japan due to a malfunction, Kyodo News Agency reported, quoting airport officials. Some departures and arrivals of commercial flights at the airport were affected as a the runway was closed for around 20 minutes following the incident around 11.30am, officials said. No injuries were reported. British forces have been conducting a joint drill with Japan's Maritime Self-Defence Force and United States forces from Aug 4 through next Tuesday, having dispatched an aircraft carrier strike group to the western Pacific. — BERNAMA-KYODO
