Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney has revealed she's not going anywhere - and even joked she's got her sights set on beating soap legend Bill Roache's 65-year reign on the cobbles.
Elle, 22, said: "Bill, we have spent 15 years together. They are more than colleagues, they do become a part of your family.
"It's quite the challenge to beat. I am young enough to do it, I guess. It must be incredible for someone to be here 65 years.
"All the stories he must have done and all the people he must have met.
"Who knows what the future will bring? But right now I am loving Corrie more than ever and have no plans to leave, so long as they still want me."
The actress, who's played Amy Barlow since she was just seven, first rocked up to Weatherfield in 2010 and has become a firm fan favourite ever since.
She's been at the heart of huge storylines - from her harrowing rape and spiking ordeal to being brainwashed by The Institute.
The star added: "I still can't believe I have been there for 15 years. It's hard to describe because in one way it feels that long but in another way it doesn't.
"I joined when I was just seven and I'm now 22. I was just a young kid. I am so fortunate though. I still love Corrie, where I work and everyone I work with. I am just really lucky."
While she's staying put on the cobbles for now, Elle has her sights set on a different kind of drama.
Coronation Street's battered and bloodied Craig left unconscious on the cobbles after a vicious attack
The actress confessed she'd love to swap Weatherfield for the wild and have a crack at I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Elle revealed: " Simon [Gregson], who plays my dad, did it and loved it. Bev Callard, who played my nan, also did it so we have a family tradition," she said.
"I'm alright with bugs and creepy crawlies and snakes. They don't bother me. But I think I would really struggle with the food and the drink.
"I'd struggle eating or cooking the meal in camp, never mind the Bushtucker Trials. I'd have to stick to the rice and beans."
Corrie cash crisis: shock exits for 2025
ITV bosses are locked in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap.
This means that a number of stars have either been axed from or have abandoned the long-running serial drama.
Colson Smith - Craig Tinker
The character of Craig Tinker has been axed by bosses after 14 years. After he was told of the news in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that would be written out of the show with scenes to air later this year. Craig's on-screen mum, Beth Tinker, also left the show in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out from the role.
Sue Cleaver - Eileen Grimshaw
After 25 years playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I'm A Celebrity campmate Sue Cleaver will quit the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she's already begun to film her exit scenes. However the character will not be killed off in case Sue opts to make a return in the future.
Luca Toolan - Mason Radcliffe
Bosses decided to axe the teenage character after just 16 months after he first joined the show. Recent scenes saw Mason stabbed by his criminal brothers after his pal Dylan brought a knife in an attempt to defend him.
Sue Devaney - Debbie Webster
In November 2024, we revealed that Debbie Webster is set to be killed off after 40 years on the cobbles. The character will die as part of a heartbreaking long-running dementia storyline.
Charlotte Jordan - Daisy Midgeley
The actress became the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed that she will bow out of the ITV soap later this year after four years on-screen. Charlotte told sources that she's hungry to see what other opportunities await.
Shelley King - Yasmeen Metcalfe
The actress has played Yasmeen Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 11 years and we revealed in January that she finished filming her final scenes. This follows the departure of her on-screen partner Stu Carpenter.
Meanwhile, Corrie is gearing up for a number of exits for some iconic characters this summer.
Eileen Grimhshaw is set to exit the cobbles with actress Sue Cleaver quitting the soap after an incredible 25 years.
And Craig Tinker's life will hang in the balance in his explosive exit storyline.
The soap has already seen several characters depart the cobbles from Daisy Midgeley to Mason Radcliffe.
Coronation Street is facing a financial crisis due to soaring production costs, a decline in advertising revenue, and a drop in viewing figures, leading to budget cuts and cast departures.
Consequently, ITV is reducing the length of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale episodes from hour-long to 30-minute installments, starting in January 2026.
This change will create a "soaps power hour" where Emmerdale airs at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8:30pm each weeknight.
But with ratings falling and viewers switching to streamers like Netflix, soap stars are fearing the axe - should they be worried?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.

I was on Love Is Blind UK and even got engaged on Netflix show - but here's why you'll NEVER see my romance on screens
A Love Is Blind UK star revealed that they got engaged on the popular Netflix show - however, viewers won't get the chance to witness their connection unfold on screen. The reality dating show returned last week with 15 men and 15 women entering the pods in a bid to find love and get engaged, all before meeting their match in person. Once engaged, the couples then jet off on romantic getaways together, live with one another, and even meet each others' loved ones. However, with so many connections forming, not everyone gets the chance to make it past the initial stages, even if they put a ring on it. During a Love Is Blind season, typically only up to five couples are followed past the early stages. And unfortunately for Ross Millington, 30, he was one of the unlucky ones who were halted from continuing the process. The reality dating show returned last week with 15 men and 15 women entering the pods in a bid to find love and get engaged, all before meeting their match in person After the first episode of the latest series aired, one fan on TikTok discussed Ross' brief appearance on the show. Ross was rarely seen in the pods; however, he was shown chatting with the other male contestants in the men's lounge as he went through the process. Ross, who owned a barber shop at the time the series was being filmed, jumped in on one fan's TikTok video - where they were asking more about him - to clear up why he only appeared on the show briefly. As she pointed him out, Ross noted: 'That was me, I didn't make it to Greece unfortunately. Reveal went well though.' Ross chose not to elaborate any further, but it is safe to assume he got engaged to his match as they made it through to the reveal stage. The comment was later posted on Reddit, and fans of the Netflix show shared their thoughts on producers not airing Ross's connection on TV. One joked: 'Good thing he didn't make it to Greece, as they went to Cyprus.'; 'I counted 2 guys and 2 gals during the "I'm engaged" scenes that had zero screen time.'; And unfortunately for Ross, he was one of the unlucky ones who were halted from continuing the process, as he revealed that he didn't make it to Greece, but his reveal 'went well' 'They are still around during those moments, and I would assume they may have ended up as a couple but were not picked to go to Cyprus.' 'Makes you wonder if their connection was boring/lack of drama to not be picked over Javen and Katisha...' 'I've never understood why they pick some and not the others and then don't edit it down more in post production if necessary.'

Forgotten drama that had viewers 'glued to their screens' flies up UK streaming
A forgotten mystery drama starring Jodie Whittaker has had viewers 'glued to their screens' since it dropped on streaming. One Night aired in Australia, the series One Night was made available to UK viewers in November 2024 but quickly pulled from streaming/ The six-part series followed friends Tess (Jodie), Simone (Nicole da Silva) and Hat (Yael Stone), whose lives have been changed by 'the traumatic events of one night in their hometown twenty years previously'. It was teased of the show: 'One Night is the story of three women whose bond was all but destroyed by the traumatic events of one night 20 years ago. 'Since then, Simone has harboured secret hopes of becoming a novelist, but most of her haphazard attempts have been shoved into her bottom drawer. Now, at the age of 40, she has finally written the one story she could never get out of her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight success. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. 'But it soon becomes apparent that the devastating story the book tells doesn't exclusively belong to her. At the heart of Simone's novel is a tragedy which also happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two childhood best friends. 'As it becomes harder to prise fact from fiction, one person's memory and story from another's, the book threatens to derail all their friendships, bringing old traumas to the surface of the small coastal community where they grew up, and stirring its perpetrators, who want to make it all go away.' Despite it being labelled a 'very solid crime drama' by critics, One Night suddenly disappeared from Paramount Plus after just three months. It was explained at the time that this was due to the platform reportedly shifting towards a focus on Hollywood-style content with mass appeal and wider cost-savings efforts. However, ITV has now brought the show back and is allowing viewers to tune in. Since landing on the service, the show has found a new lease on life and is currently third on ITVX's 'Top 10 Most Watched TV' shows. Fans of the show have been keen to make their feelings known with Rudolph Reindeer writing on Google: 'Praying for a second season, binged season 1 in one day, every episode kept me glued to it. So real and so brilliant, the cast was so well selected.' Vicky Hyde was similarly impressed, adding: I'm not one to normally write reviews, but this show was too good not to. Came for Whittaker and stayed for the whole show. Whittaker's performance just took the cap off! Absolutely phenomenal and definitely award-worthy.' General audiences weren't the only ones who were impressed, either. At the time of its release, The Guardian wrote the following about One Night: 'The overall effect is very much of an Australian Big Little Lies – a female-centred story played out mostly amongst affluent people in shiny clothes and shinier houses.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'With strong performances and a diverse cast, it demands attention — but its biggest triumph may just be in the conversations it sparks after it's watched,' The London Evening Standard shared. 'The show might have benefitted from unspooling its central narrative over fewer episodes because after the halfway mark the drama becomes less character-driven, skating into crime mystery territory. But the acting throughout One Night is incredible,' The Age added. One Night was the first TV role since playing the first female Doctor for Jodie. Reflecting on what drew her to the project, the 41-year-old actress explained that the drama depicted a story about sexual assault in a way that felt 'completely unique' to her. 'What made this completely unique to me and completely engrossing was the change of POV [point of view],' she told Metro. 'Very often it's told from outside in – there's an investigation, there's detectives, there's people working things out. This is about the decimation something like that can have. 'It's also about how the event – whether it happened a minute ago or 20 years ago – is defining for a group of women that it affects, particularly this friendship group. But also what it's about is how we all survive something like that and who owns memory, who has the right to tell stories, and especially if that story is true.' More Trending One Night was created and written by the award-winning Emily Ballou (The Slap, Taboo) and directed by Catherine Millar (The Twelve, The Secrets She Keeps) and Lisa Matthews (Doctor Doctor). It also stars Kat Stewart, George Mason, Erroll Shand, Noni Hazlehurst, Tina Bursill (Doctor Doctor), William Zappa, Damien Strouthos and Jillian Nguyen. One Night is streaming now on ITVX . Kneecap rapper faces month-long wait over whether terror charge is thrown out
A member of rap trio Kneecap faces a month-long wait to find out whether his terrorism charge will be thrown out. Liam Og O hAnnaidh, who performs under the stage name Mo Chara, was once again greeted by hundreds of fans as he arrived at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday for a three-hour hearing. Advertisement Prosecutors allege the 27-year-old displayed a flag in support of proscribed terror organisation Hezbollah at a gig at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London, in November last year. During Wednesday's hearing, his defence team argued the case should be thrown out, citing a technical error in the way the charge against him was brought. Brenda Campbell KC told the court the Attorney General had not given permission for the case to be brought against the defendant when police informed him he was to face a terror charge on May 21st. She said consent was given the following day, but that meant the charge falls outside of the six-month time frame in which criminal charges against a defendant can be brought. Advertisement Prosecutor Michael Bisgrove said permission was not required until the defendant's first court appearance and that permission did not need to be sought in order to bring a criminal charge. Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring adjourned the case until September 26th, when he will rule on whether he has the jurisdiction to try the case. Kneecap's Liam Og O hAnnaidh leaves Westminster Magistrates' Court (Jordan Pettitt/PA) Hundreds of Kneecap supporters waving flags and holding banners greeted O hAnnaidh as he arrived at court alongside fellow bandmates Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh. Demonstrations in support of the rapper were organised outside the court building in London, as well as in Dublin. Advertisement The Metropolitan Police imposed conditions limiting where the demonstration outside the court could take place, saying they were needed to 'prevent serious disruption'. A man was detained by police outside the court building because of a placard he was holding following the hearing. Surrounded by officers, he told reporters his hand-made sign made no reference to any proscribed organisations. O hAnnaidh was swamped by photographers as he arrived, with security officers taking more than a minute to usher him into the court building. Advertisement Supporters of Kneecap's Liam Og O hAnnaidh outside Westminster Magistrates' Court (Ben Whitley/PA) Supporters greeted the Kneecap rapper with cheers as he made his way from a silver people carrier to the building. Fans held signs which read 'Free Mo Chara' while others waved Palestine and Irish flags before the rapper's arrival at court. Chants of 'Free, free, Mo Chara' could also be heard over a megaphone, which was repeated by the crowd. Mr O Caireallain and Mr O Dochartaigh sat at the back of the courtroom with three others as O hAnnaidh confirmed his name, date of birth and address to the court at the start of the hearing. Advertisement In response to the Met imposing conditions on the protest, Kneecap described the move as a 'calculated political decision' that was 'designed to try and portray support for Kneecap as somehow troublesome'. Supporters of Kneecap's Liam Og O hAnnaidh gathered outside the court (Jordan Pettitt/PA) The court previously heard the 27-year-old defendant is 'well within his rights' to voice his opinions on the Israel-Palestine conflict, but the alleged incident at the O2 Forum was a 'wholly different thing'. O hAnnaidh, of Belfast, is yet to enter a plea to the charge and is on unconditional bail.
