
Acclaimed Pitmaster Rodney Scott Launches a Line of Sauces and Sides at Target
The 12 items are designed to enhance an at-home barbecue. The products include Carolina-style sauces, honey cornbread, mac and cheese, pork rinds, baked beans, iced tea, and more. However, for whole-hog barbecue, you'll still need to visit a Rodney Scott's BBQ.
Scott got his start in barbecue working for his family's whole-hog business, Scott's Bar-B-Que, in Hemingway, South Carolina. Barbecue enthusiasts drove from all over the United States to get a taste of Scott's slow-cooked pork. He opened Rodney Scott's BBQ in Charleston in 2017. Fans quickly lined up for a taste of whole hog, skins, and sides. And they still line up today to try Scott's famed fare.
The pitmaster went on to win a James Beard Award, write a cookbook, and travel the world spreading tastes of whole-hog barbecue.

Bojangles expands to East Coast, opening first location in NYC
Bo-my-God! The southern fast food chain Bojangles will be expanding to the East Coast and returning to New York City for the first time in four decades with a new location in Brooklyn, the company announced Wednesday. Bojangles will be opening 85 locations throughout New York and New Jersey over the next 10 years, with its first spot set to open in Brooklyn this winter, according to a news release. 4 Bojangles will take on the Big Apple this winter. The all-day breakfast and fried chicken chain primarily sprawls across the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic region. It was founded in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1977. 4 85 locations will be opened throughout New York and New Jersey over the next decade. Bojangles It currently holds more than 800 locations in 21 states with a legendary menu featuring its signature fried chicken, biscuits, and sweet tea. Bojangles isn't the first southern staple to expand up to the Big Apple. Raising Cane's opened its first New York location and global flagship in Times Square in June 2023. Since then, it's only expanded through the city with plans to open its eighth near Columbia University in Morningside Heights.

Bessent says Japan 'behind the curve' in monetary tightening, in Bloomberg interview
TOKYO (Reuters) -U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Japan is being late in handling monetary tightening during an interview with Bloomberg Television. Bessent also said that U.S. Treasury yields are feeling the impact of overseas developments, including from Japan and Germany. "There's definitely leakage from — the Japanese have an inflation problem," Bessent said in the interview. Bessent mentioned that he had spoken with Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda. "My opinion, not his — they're behind the curve. So they're going to be hiking," he added. The U.S. Federal Reserve should lower the policy interest rate at least by 1.5%, Bessent also said, suggesting the central bank execute the rate cut by 50 basis points in September.
