‘Love Island USA' Achieves Its Biggest Week Ever With 1.9 Billion Minutes Watched, Becoming Nielsen's No. 1 Most-Streamed Show of the Week for the First Time

Yahoo4 hours ago
'Love Island USA' achieved its best viewership ever during the week of July 7-13, reaching 1.9 billion minutes watched. That total marked not only a series high for the Peacock reality dating series, but the first time any Peacock show has ever reached the No. 1 position on Nielsen's weekly streaming rankings.
Nielsen measures U.S. television screens alone, meaning viewership in other countries and on mobile devices is not included in this tally. Additionally, it's important to note that Nielsen combines all viewership of a show into one total rather than separating totals by season, meaning that any viewership of Seasons 1-6 would also be accounted for within the week's 1.9 billion minutes. Still, it's presumable that the vast majority of viewership would have come from the currently airing season. Nielsen also notes that throughout the run of Season 7, which premiered on June 3 and concluded on July 13, 'Love Island USA' accrued a total of 8.8 billion minutes watched, with 54% of that viewership coming from adults age 18-34. That makes it the biggest show among adults under 35 by a 'significant margin,' per Nielsen.

45 Thoughts I Had While Watching And Just Like That… Season 3, Episode 11

You'd think that knowing our days with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, Seema, Lisa, Anthony, et al are numbered would make me an easier audience for these remaining episodes of And Just Like That… but no! In any case, the show's latest episode is serving us Thanksgiving-in-August vibes, which I admittedly don't hate. Here, find every thought I had (literally) about Season 3, Episode 11 of And Just Like That…

Gina Carano settles legal dispute with Lucasfilm and Disney

Gina Carano has reached a legal settlement over her firing from The Mandalorian. The 43-year-old actress was fired from the hit TV series back in 2021, following a series of controversial posts on social media, but Lucasfilm and the Walt Disney Company have now confirmed that they've reached a settlement agreement with Gina. In a statement given to Variety, a spokesperson said: "The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. "Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future." Gina previously hit out at Disney on social media, accusing the media giant of trying to "control" what their employees say in public. The actress wrote on X: "Disney has confirmed what has been known all along, they will fire you if you say anything they disagree with, even if they have to MISREPRESENT, MALIGN, and MISCHARACTERIZE you to do it. They are now on record letting everyone who works for them know that Disney will take any chance they get to control what you say, what you think or they will attempt to destroy your career. Glad we cleared that up. The First Amendment does not allow Disney to wantonly DISCRIMINATE, which is what they have done in my case and frankly have now admitted they did. If you ever wanted to know what today's 'Disney values' are, they just told you. (sic)" Gina has yet to release a statement in response to the legal settlement. However, she seemingly referred to the settlement agreement in a recent social media post. The actress - who was cast in The Mandalorian back in 2018 - wrote on X on Thursday (07.08.25): "… and the truth shall set you free."

‘The Office' spinoff ‘The Paper' trailer drops, and it's Pretzel Day good.

This calls for Pam's 'second drink.' Calling all fans of The Office, this is not a Dwight Schrute fire drill. Peacock has dropped the first official trailer of The Paper, the spinoff mockumentary series set in the same universe as the beloved Dunder Mifflin-ites at the Scranton branch. The premise of the new comedy involves the same documentary crew that has found a new paper-related subject 'several years' later, as revealed in the trailer. They discover the historic yet struggling Ohio newspaper, the Toledo Truth Teller. The trailer sets the tone for the lack of quality at the newspaper, as described by employee Ken (Tim Key): "Enervate sells products made of paper: Toilet tissue, toilet seat protectors and local newspapers — and that is in order of quality.' One of the cameras then catches garbage being scraped off a folded-up Truth Teller newspaper. Cue Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson), the new hopeful editor in chief, who is brought in to try and revive the newsroom. He admits the paper 'sucks' compared to other papers, but vows to make it better by shaking things up. Viewers are also introduced to one of the paper's writers, Esmeralda, played by Emmy-nominated The White Lotus actress Sabrina Impacciatore. She proudly shows the documentary crew one of her clickbait articles with the headline: "You Won't Believe How Much Ben Affleck Tipped His Limo Driver." We also get a glimpse of an intro meeting where Ned asks a group of volunteer reporters if any of them have "actually written for a paper before." The responses are less than impressive, though perhaps Dundie-worthy, sharing their experience writing junior high papers, Tweeting and group-texting. But Ned isn't one to back down from a challenge, as the trailer shows. 'Seven highly motivated, tenacious Buckeyes are out there hunting for news,' Ned says, mirroring Michael Scott's loyalty to his employees. 'You'd be a fool to bet against that.' I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious. When does 'The Paper' premier and how can I watch? The Paper, co-created by Greg Daniels (The Office and Parks and Recreation) and Michael Koman (Nathan For You), launches exclusively on Peacock. The first four episodes land on Thursday, Sept. 4. Then two new episodes will drop every Thursday through Sept. 25. Who else will appear in the first season? Rounding out the main cast ensemble for The Paper are Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman and Ramona Young. The end of the trailer also teases the return of Dunder Mifflin accounting pal, Oscar Martinez (Oscar Nuñez), who aggressively tells the crew: 'Not again.' He then threatens to make the shots unusable by cursing. Well, well, well, how the turn tables. Solve the daily Crossword
