ZEE5 unveils bold new identity, reinforces focus on language-first storytelling
ZEE5 has officially launched a refreshed brand identity and a strategic revamp that underscores its evolution as India's leading homegrown OTT platform. Anchored by the promise 'Apni Bhasha, Apni Kahaniyan' (Multiple Languages, Infinite Stories), the platform's new direction prioritizes culturally rich narratives, language-specific personalization, and advanced technology.
The relaunch includes a redesigned visual identity, a revamped user interface, and specialized language subscription plans aimed at enhancing user engagement across India's diverse regions. The platform's core focus now rests on three pillars—content, experience, and affordability.
ZEE5's language-first content strategy will deliver hyper-local, emotionally resonant stories rooted in regional folklore, real-life icons, and cultural legends. Each major language—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and Bengali—will be treated as a unique content vertical to ensure authenticity. Subscription prices begin at ₹120/month for regional packs, ₹220/month for the Hindi bundle, and ₹320/month for All Access, with annual plans also available.
Upcoming titles include Detective Sherdil (Hindi), Chhal Kapat (Hindi), Sattamum Neethiyum (Tamil), Mothubaru Love Story (Telugu), Inspection Bungalow (Malayalam), Maarigallu (Kannada), Aata Thambhahya Naay (Marathi), and Vibhishan (Bengali).
ZEE5 is also leveraging AI-powered personalization to enhance user experience, delivering tailored recommendations across every Indian pin code.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 9 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday announced initiatives to digitise the state's dialects, folk tales, folk songs, and literature. He proposed creating an e-library to store and showcase Uttarakhand's folk literature, developing audio-visuals based on folk tales, organising weekly competitions in schools to promote local dialects and hosting a large-scale festival to celebrate Uttarakhand's language and literature. The Chief Minister said, 'Work should be done towards digitization of Uttarakhand's dialects, folk tales, folk songs and literature. For this, an e-library should be created. Along with increasing the collection based on folk tales, audio visuals should also be made on them.' Dhami further stressed that competitions, based on local dialect language should be organised once a week in schools, including creating a linguistic map of Uttarakhand's dialects. 'A festival of Uttarakhand language and literature should be organised on a large scale, in which litterateurs from all over the country should be invited,' the chief minister further added. 'A linguistic map of the dialects of Uttarakhand should be made.' Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was speaking during the general assembly and management executive committee meeting of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan in the secretariat. The Chief Minister also appealed to the people of the state to promote the use of books. In the meeting, it was decided that the amount of Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman will be increased from 5 lakhs to 5.51 lakhs. The state government will also award long-term literary service award, the award money of which will amount to Rs 5 lakhs. A young writer competition will be organized to encourage young writers towards the official language, Hindi. Young writers of two age groups 18 to 24 and 25 to 35 will be included in it. Along with arranging mobile libraries in remote areas of the state, it was agreed to take the help of big publishers to provide books and literature related to various subjects to the readers. The Bhasha Sansthan will work towards promoting local dialects by preparing short videos to increase the interest of children towards folk languages. Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan will compile the complete literature of renowned playwright 'Govind Ballabh Pant', compile the literature of Uttarakhand's writers published in various newspapers and magazines of India 50 to 100 years ago and conduct research projects for the preservation and study of Uttarakhand's high Himalayan and tribal languages. Two Sahitya Grams will be built in the state for literary creation amidst nature, seminars and discussions among writers. Language Minister Subodh Uniyal said that in the last three years, many new initiatives have been taken by the Bhasha Sansthan in Uttarakhand. Along with the preservation and promotion of languages, rapid efforts are being made to promote local dialects. Many awards are being given by the state government to encourage people in the direction of language. (ANI)

The film has now surpassed the India nett collections of Akshay's previous film, Kesari Chapter 2. It had made ₹ 92.53 crore. Will Housefull 5 beat the haul of Sky Force at ₹149 crore? The next few days are crucial for the film to arrive at that answer. Housefull 5 tells the story of three men called Jolly being suspects for the murder of a rich industrialist on a cruise ship. Thug Life box office collection day 5: Expectations were high with what was going to be Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's first film in 38 years after Nayakan. The Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha Krishnan-starrer Thug Life was released in theatres on Thursday. However, the film has not met the expectations of many, as it received mixed reviews. The latest Sacnilk report states that Thug Life has seen a sharp dip in its first Monday, collecting just above ₹40 crore. It is the lowest single-day collection for the film so far. Thug Life opened on Thursday with ₹ 15.5 crore, and was unable to show further growth in the next few days. The total collection of the film now stands at ₹40.01 crore. Most of its earnings are in place because of the Tamil version of the film. The report also states that Thug Life had 17.21% Tamil Occupancy on Monday. Thug Life revolves around the decades-long story of a feared mafia kingpin who seeks revenge after betrayal. The film also stars Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal and Rohit Saraf. The film released in theatres last week amid controversy over Kamal Haasan's comment that Kannada was born out of Tamil. He refused to apologise, and the film was not released in Karnataka. Later, Kamal wrote an open letter to the KFCC, where he said, "My words were intended only to convey that we are all one and from the same family and not to diminish Kannada in any way. There is no dispute or debate on the rich legacy of the Kannada language.'
