Killer Mick broke out of prison, intent on taking revenge on police officer and his former best mate Kit Green.
He beat Kit up, leaving him fighting for his life in hospital.
And then while hunting his children down in an attempt to flee, he threatened Sally Metcalfe as she tried to talk him down.
The grim scenes however have left some fans feeling like they want to complain.
One wrote: 'Those scenes with Mick are just not appropriate for a soap IMO.
'It was sickening to watch Mick always grab a tool of some kind and violently beat someone.
'Same with Lou. I had to put the sound down and fast forward because I don't get any entertainment from brutality.'
A second said: 'This show is more violent and full of misery than most crime thrillers.'
Another added: 'Can't forget about Mason too but to be honest the worst one was Rob beating Lisa up in the car, I thought that one was sickening to watch.'
A fourth commented: 'I thought the blood shot with it dripping through the metal grated floor a bit much for a soap.
Coronation Street favourite dies in harrowing scenes after being brutally attacked
'Like something out of a slasher movie.'
The storyline has led to the exit of actor Joe Layton as he finished his planned stint as Mick on the show.

Coronation Street fans floored over Bernie star's age as she celebrates major birthday
Coronation Street fans have been left in disbelief after discovering the real age of actress Jane Hazlegrove, who plays Bernie Winter on the ITV soap Coronation Street fans were gobsmacked to discover the real age of actress Jane Hazlegrove. Jane burst onto the scene in 2019 as Bernie Winter, the long-lost mother of Gemma (played by Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (portrayed by Peter Ash), quickly becoming a hit with viewers. Bernie has been at the centre of some major plots, including the poignant storyline in 2023 where Paul was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), leading to his tragic death in September 2024 with Bernie at his side. Additionally, Bernie's world was rocked when her long-lost son Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) made an unexpected appearance last year. Her romantic escapades have also been a hot topic, particularly her beloved relationship with Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin). Before joining the cobbles, Jane graced our screens in Silent Witness, The Bill, Doctors, and notably as Kathleen 'Dixie' Dixon on BBC's Casualty from 2006 to 2016, reports Leicestershire Live. However, it's her recent birthday that has left fans astounded. Celebrating her 57th birthday on the 17th of July, a fan posted on a Corrie Facebook group: "Happy 57th birthday wishes to Jane have a fantastic day." The revelation sparked a flurry of compliments from fans, all agreeing that Jane looks absolutely fabulous for her age. Someone else exclaimed: "No way she doesn't look it ." A third surprised fan added: "I thought the same!" In agreement, another commented: "An amazing actress, she looks good for her age doesn't she?". When she's not gracing the soap world, Jane is blissfully in love with her devoted soap star wife Isobel Middleton. The couple exchanged vows in 2015 and have shared over 28 years together. Isobel, an accomplished actress herself, is no stranger to the small screen. She has portrayed three different characters on Emmerdale throughout the years. She appeared as Dr Lane in 2014, played a barrister during Simon McManus' trial in 2018, and in 2020, she took on the role of Jean Rawson. However, Emmerdale isn't the only soap opera where Isobel has made her mark. She featured as Sadie Banks in BBC's EastEnders back in 2002. Not just confined to television, Isobel also had a role in the 2009 blockbuster Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Denise Welch was 'addicted to food' but shed 2.5st by doing one thing
The star has struggled with her mental health and binge eating for years. Denise Welch hasn't had the easiest of years so far, and just before Christmas the Loose Women favourite was forced to pull out of an acting job because of depression and anxiety. Her mental health is the biggest struggle the star has to live with, she revealed recently. 'Some people deal with diabetes, or MS or cancer — my thing is mental illness,' she tells OK! in an exclusive catch-up. 'I live with it, and I enjoy the periods in between my episodes.' Denise has now been back on the panel for a few months, but more change is on the way. In May, ITV announced it was merging production teams on three of its daytime shows, and cutting Loose Women and Lorraine back to 30 weeks a year, reports the Mirror. Although the channel insisted there wouldn't be any 'radical changes', there is some uncertainty about the future of the panel. But for Denise, who joined the show in 2005, it's an opportunity to make a return to acting. She said: 'I'm on television because I'm gobby and opinionated, and I think people can forget what I really do, and what I'm really good at, so I'm going to make a concerted effort to go back to what I do and know.' Denise says Loose Women holds a special place in her heart — not least because the average age of its stars is around 50. 'It's the only show in the country that not only celebrates older women, but reveres and listens to older women's opinions,' she says. Denise has become something of an icon for her age-defying looks and sassy attitude. At 67 she is bursting with confidence — whether people like her swimwear pics or not. 'Maybe I'm out to empower women, but I'm definitely out to say, 'F*** off, haters.' I've changed the narrative from 'I'm 67' to 'I'm only 67'. I'll wear swimwear if I live until I'm 97. And if you don't like it, don't look at my pictures. 'There's a lot of misogyny out there, too. So, there's an element of devilment in me as well, which is to say, 'Don't you ever tell any woman what she can and can't wear.' We had Christie Brinkley on Loose Women recently. She's 71 and looks unbelievable.' Denise, who shares sons Matty, lead vocalist in The 1975, and actor Louis, with her ex-husband Tim Healy, has worked hard on her confidence — but she says the starting point was giving up alcohol 13 years ago. The star had already risen to fame in acting roles including Rovers Return landlady Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street and teacher Steph Haydock in Waterloo Road, and she's now been famous for more years than she hasn't. 'I can't really remember a time before,' she says. 'It's just how it is for our family. 'Matthew is obviously really famous, and my other son, Louis, is playing the lead in Stranger Things in the West End. I go to the stage door and he's surrounded by people. 'I've always said to the boys, 'You're there because of those people, be as polite and respectful as you can be.'' When Denise got sober, she admits she quickly became 'in danger of replacing one addiction with another' — food. She was binge eating, she says, but signing up to LighterLife was about far more than shifting the extra two and-a-half stones. 'LighterLife was the only company talking about the emotional side of eating, and using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to completely change my relationship with food. She continues, 'I was very newly sober so many of the things that I was learning through CBT, I was able to apply to my sobriety also.' The repercussions of giving up booze spread far wider than just herself, though. 'My children, my marriage, everything, is down to my sobriety,' she says. 'It's given my children and my stepson, Lewis, the wings to fly without worrying about me. I'm proud of the people I have created as a friendship group around me. That's got to be something down to me? That I still have the same friends I had years ago, and that they love me and they support me. 'I'm proud of some of the things I've done as an actress. It might sound big-headed, but it's the one thing I say I'm f*****g good at. 'And I'm going to concentrate on reminding everybody of that!' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Credit: ITVX 7 She also couldn't quite get to the bottom of a road related animation Credit: ITVX One of whom was BBC Breakfast anchor Naga Munchetty, 50, who had previously appeared in an edition on ITVX. Although she's best known for her role on the morning show, she also presents a show three times a week on BBC Radio 5 Live. Naga was named the fourth highest-paid woman at the beeb, and despite her high-profile role, she competed on the ITV gameshow. She played against the likes of Mo Gilligan and Joanna Page on Celebrity Catchphrase to raise money for charity. The magazine show presenter ended up reaching the final pyramid round to win money for both her own choice and more for the other competitors' charities. However, she was left "frustrated" when she struggled to answer a number of questions in the sixty second time limit. One of the clips showed the show's Mr Chips character running through a word-shaped cloud that read 'breath'. As he reached the end of the word, the animated character was seen to be panting heavily. Naga exclaimed: "Taking a breather! Taking a breath! Running through breath. Breathless." She added: "Breathe easy, erm... pass," to no avail as she was forced to move onto the next image riddle. Gary Lineker tops BBC best-paid list with Naga Munchetty among biggest earners amid 'bullying' row as salaries revealed After wasting 18 seconds on the question, she had to move onto a different clip on the pyramid. In the end, she did get the second challenge on the level correct as she won £10,000. However, she did not win money for the other charities nor reach the top of the pyramid as Naga missed out on the whopping £50,000 jackpot. As the time ran out, Stephen turned to the competitor for her reaction as he remarked: "You look frustrated." Who are the current presenters of BBC Breakfast? The flagship BBC show has had dozens of presenters during its impressive 40 years on air but the current stars are: Jon Kay - Since 2022 Sally Nugent - Since 2021 Charlie Stayt - Since 2006 Naga Munchetty - Since 2014 Carol Kirkwood - Since 1997 To which Naga furiously replied: "I'm so frustrated. But look, £10,000 for a charity is so important. But I'm so frustrated." As the presenter reminded Naga that she had to pass on the number 11, she added: "I'm so upset about that. Because I really wanted to double Joanna and Mo's money." When the presenter revealed that the answer was of course 'out of breath' she said: "Oh I said breathless but I didn't say out of breath!" In the round she also struggled to answer another riddle which represented the following phrase; 'hit the road.' I'm so frustrated. But look, £10,000 for a charity is so important. But I'm so frustrated Naga Munchetty At the end of the game she seemed completely aghast as she admitted: "I said 'hit the ground running', didn't I?" 7 Stephen Mulhern hosts the show which sees competitor try to guess correct phrases that is represented by a clever animation Credit: ITVX 7 Naga made it to the final round of the hit game show Credit: ITVX 7 The presenter eventually revealed the correct phrase, which was only just out of reach Credit: ITVX 7 The BBC Breakfast star admitted she was 'so upset' to have missed out on more money Celebrity Catchphrase is available to stream now on ITVX.
