Limbo (2010) is a puzzle platformer published and developed by Playdead. Traverse a monochromatic landscape as a young boy who navigates the dark and dangerous Limbo realm to save his sister. Avoid bear traps hidden in the inky forest floor and survive attacks from monsters lurking in shadowy corners. You will need to be clever to solve mechanical puzzles using machinery, magnets, and gravity.
Developers at Playdead describe Limbo as a trial-and-death type of game. This means you will die repeatedly, but each death is meant to be a learning experience. Often, the boy's disturbing demise is gruesomely animated, but there is a gore filter for those who need it.

Employee discovers original gaming console in company trash: 'They still sell for quite a bit'
If you're a video game enthusiast, you'd be surprised at what you can find in your local e-waste dumpster. One Reddit user shared their haul in r/OriginalXbox, much to the envy of commenters. What happened? The original poster stated that they found an Xbox, complete with several games and controllers, in the e-waste dumpster outside their workplace. "It baffles me someone would put this thing in an e-waste when they still sell for quite a bit in Australia as gaming wasn't too big here when this console came out," the OP wrote. A photo shows the incredible find, and despite its age, the system looks relatively new. However, the poster noted that the system does have a few glitches, such as needing to power on the Xbox with the eject button, the fan being loud, and discs not always being read correctly. Still, commenters assured the OP that some of these issues could be fixed with a little TLC. "Open it up, YouTube videos, replace the capacitors, clean it up," one person suggested. "To me that's just sad how they throw away these retro games. Some ppl just don't understand how good these old game consoles are now smh," another said. "The stuff people throw away sometimes is just wild," someone else shared. "No doubt countless perfectly operational valuable and priceless things go to waste all the time." Why does e-waste matter? Electronic waste is one of the worst forms of pollution because it leaches toxic metals into the air and soil. Women and children who work in informal recycling centers are often exposed to thousands of harmful chemicals, which can result in lung and reproductive problems, per the World Health Organization. Are companies doing anything about this? Several major retailers, including Amazon, Apple, and Best Buy, offer trade-in programs that allow customers to exchange unwanted electronics for perks such as store credit or cash back. If the traded devices aren't eligible for credit or cannot be refurbished, they're recycled for free. What else is being done about e-waste? Technological solutions for electronic pollution are also springing up. For instance, some companies are adding mechanical arms to recycling facilities to increase productivity and efficiency, and artificial intelligence-powered robots are also being employed to handle more e-waste. Big Updates for Battlefield 6 Open Beta in Second Weekend
The Battlefield 6 Beta is raging with players free to jump into the fray now through the end of Sunday, Aug. 17. As the second weekend of the preview period, there are a few changes that open up the beta with more modes, maps and play options. Those enjoying the beta on PS5 have to be subscribed to PS Plus to play online, but for their trouble, they're getting 2x XP and can earn an exclusive skin, as the official PlayStation account posted on X. For all players, here are the changes for Battlefield 6 Beta's weekend two. Battlefield 6 Beta new maps and modes While the first weekend introduced the maps Liberation Peak, Siege of Cairo and Iberian Offensive, the second weekend has added Empire State, a close-quarters map mixing unfinished buildings and blacktop basketball courts for players to take to the New York City streets. As for new modes, the first weekend featured Conquest (as well as a Closed Weapons Conquest version that locks certain guns to specific classes), Domination, King of the Hill and Breakthrough. The second weekend adds Rush, Squad Deathmatch and several playlists that combine a few of these modes into a rotation. On the second weekend, players will also get to select which maps and modes they want to queue up for with Custom Search. Note that this will ensure that "matchmaking will prioritize putting you in a match with this combo [of maps and modes], if available," according to a Battlefield 6 Beta information page -- which suggests that players may end up getting stuck with maps and modes they haven't selected if there aren't other options.
