Sule demands job assurance to Pahalgam attack victim's kin be implemented immediately
'We had demanded a job to Asawari citing that the sole earning member of the family Santosh Jagdale was killed. The chief minister had assured us of the job but has not implemented it till now,' said Sule.
The NCP(SP) leader said, 'Asawari is highly qualified and will be given a government job in PMC. The state government should implement its assurance.'
Sule, who held a discussion with PMC officers on civic issues, highlighted the fatal road accidents taking place on city roads including the one at Gangadham chowk. 'The PMC needs to act fast in resolving civic issues that are costing lives of citizens. The water pollution in Khadakwasla dam is another serious issue which the civic body will resolve fast,' she said, adding the road conditions in the city and water logging is causing inconvenience to citizens.
The NCP (SP) working president said the delimitation process for PMC elections have started as per state government decision. 'We want it to be a transparent process which is based on a standard formula and not as per the imagination of any person,' she said.
Sule said that the state government is planning to recover the property tax from residents of newly merged 32 villages despite assurance of no recovery ahead of Lok Sabha and state assembly elections. 'They seem to be least bothered about promises after the elections. The PMC has not yet provided any services in these areas, so why should they recover property tax?,' she added.
The NCP(SP) leader said she was shocked by the closure of Sarasbaug by PMC on the alleged demand of a BJP MP to avoid the muslim community from celebrating Eid in the garden. 'I wasn't aware of this. It is shocking. If I was told earlier I would have got it opened. I will ensure it is not repeated next year,' she said.
On the ongoing indefinite hunger strike by former legislator Bachu Kadu, Sule said that the NCP(SP) has extended support to Kadu as he is justified in seeking justice for farmers who are in distress. 'The Mahayuti has assured complete loan waiver to farmers but has not taken any decision so far. The farmers are suffering with their hard work going in vain due to heavy rain across the state,' she said, adding that the legislator has been asked to take care of his health.

TG BJP lauds apex court's decision to transfer lawyer couple murder case to CBI
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao has welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to hand over the investigation of the 2021 murder of advocate couple Gattu Vaman Rao and P. V. Nagamani to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He said on Wednesday the verdict reflects growing public distrust in the state's investigative agencies and will help restore faith in the judicial system. The lawyer couple was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Peddapalli district, triggering widespread outrage and raising serious concerns about the safety of legal professionals in the state. The Apex Court's decision to transfer the case to the CBI is seen as a significant step toward ensuring justice and accountability. Rao said that the CBI probe would uncover the full facts of the case and ensure that those responsible face strict punishment. He also reiterated his long-standing demand for the introduction of an Advocate Protection Act to safeguard lawyers from such attacks. 'As a former MLC, I had repeatedly urged the previous government to enact the Advocate Protection Act, but the demand was ignored,' Rao said. He called on the current Congress-led state government to fulfill its election manifesto promise and introduce the legislation in the upcoming assembly session. Rao stressed that protecting the legal community is the government's responsibility and affirmed that the BJP would continue to advocate for justice, dignity, and security for lawyers. He said the Supreme Court's intervention should serve as a warning to those who threaten or attack legal professionals and reaffirmed the party's commitment to legal reforms and institutional accountability.

SP never talked about Dalits when it was in power, now desperate: UP Deputy CM Maurya
'From 2012 to 2017, when I was also a member of this House, SP never remembered Dalits and backward classes. But now, when they see no possibility of power anywhere, they talk of a fake PDA,' he said. Speaking in a 24-hour discussion in the Assembly on 'Viksit Bharat-Viksit Uttar Pradesh, Atmanirbhar Bharat-Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh,' Maurya also accused the SP of lacking a comprehensive vision for inclusive development. Lucknow, Aug 13 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday said the Samajwadi Party (SP) never cared for Dalits and the backward classes when it was in power. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, people gave a clear message to the then-ruling SP by ousting it, but its leaders 'did not mend their ways,' the BJP leader said. He alleged that the SP regime was marked by lawlessness, rampant crime, and unchecked corruption. Maurya said the reason UP lags behind several states despite rich resources was the partisan politics, which stalled progress for decades. 'States like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat have surged ahead, while UP remained backward for long. Before 2017, the situation was even worse,' he said. Maurya said Uttar Pradesh's economy under the BJP has grown from Rs 12.89 lakh crore in 2017 to Rs 28 lakh crore now, while per capita income has risen from Rs 52,671 in 2016-17 to Rs 93,514 in 2023-24. He said that the state was moving rapidly towards becoming a USD 1-trillion economy. The discussion in the House will continue tonight and will end on Thursday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remains present in the House. PTI ABN VN VN This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. ThePrint holds no responsibility for its content.
