Training enhances teachers' professional skills
On Monday, he inaugurated a three-day State-level training programme for 416 State Resource Persons (SRPs) organised by SCERT at KL University (Vaddeswaram, Guntur).
Addressing the participants, Rama Raju said that the training is being provided on the Academic Calendar, Teachers' Handbook, Student Assessment Booklets, LEAP App and more. He stated that this training will enhance the professional standards of teachers and will help State's education system reach international standards.
He urged teachers to dedicate themselves fully to teaching throughout the academic year. Plans prepared weekly and monthly, starting from the first day of the academic year, will be implemented in schools from this academic session. He also informed that a Bridge Course will be conducted for students of Grades 3, 6, and 9 in the academic year 2025–26. The Director added that the monthly cluster meetings will also contribute significantly to improving both the teachers skills and students learning outcomes.
SCERT Director MV Krishna Reddy stated that this training will enhance the professional competencies of teachers. KL University Registrar Dr K Subbarao, Dean KRS Prasad, SSC SCERT faculty and staff also participated in the programme.

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh has etched its name in the Guinness World Records by successfully organising the world's largest Parent-Teacher Meeting (Mega PTM), held simultaneously across more than 61,000 government schools in the State. The landmark achievement was formally announced by Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Monday, who credited the feat to the unwavering commitment of teachers, education officials, students, and the wider community. According to Guinness World Records, over 53.4 lakh parents and teachers participated directly in the event. When including students, alumni, School Management Committees (SMCs), education volunteers, donors, and public representatives, total participation crossed 1.5 crore (15.2 million), making it the largest gathering of its kind ever recorded globally. The Mega PTM is part of the government's larger mission to revitalise public education by improving infrastructure, integrating digital tools, enhancing transparency, and fostering community ownership. Under the AP Model Schools initiative, the state is working toward a futuristic, inclusive education system that aligns with its broader vision of becoming a global hub for knowledge and innovation, referred to as 'Quantum Valley.' To ensure credibility and scale, each school was required to submit detailed participation evidence via the LEAP App—a digital platform developed by the state government to streamline academic planning and performance monitoring. Schools uploaded three photographs, one video, verified participant counts, and witness reports. The verification process involved over 40 Guinness-appointed auditors who rigorously reviewed data submitted from the participating schools. Minister Lokesh emphasised that the achievement goes beyond numbers. 'This milestone reflects our commitment to making education a shared, community-driven effort. It is a tribute to the teachers who continue to be the backbone of this transformation,' he said. Samagra Shiksha Project Director B Srinivasa Rao hailed the recognition as a powerful endorsement of the reforms under way. He noted that the state is building a more equitable, quality-focused education ecosystem through inclusive initiatives and technology-led monitoring. The Guinness World Records certificate will be formally presented in the second week of August at a special event in Amaravati.

Mega PTM enters the Guinness Records
Visakhapatnam: The mega parent-teacher meeting 2.0 conducted in July has entered the Guinness world records for being recognised as the largest PTM, with 53 lakh parents and teachers participating. The event witnessed a remarkable total footfall of 1.5 crore attendees, including students, alumni, school management, school management committee members, and philanthropists. State education minister Nara Lokesh, upon receiving confirmation from Guinness world records, expressed pride in the recognition and dedicated it to all the teachers who worked tirelessly for the success of Mega PTM 2.0. "It is heartening to see that Guinness world records has acknowledged the state's mission to rejuvenate public education and promote inclusive learning for all. We dedicate this award to the teaching community," said Lokesh. The record was officially confirmed following an audit of data from mega PTM, which included three photographs, one video, verified counts of parents and teachers, and an independent witness statement from each participating school. All this evidence was collected through the LEAP App, a digital platform designed to enhance education delivery. "Over 40 auditors appointed by GWR worked day and night to evaluate the data collected from over 61,000 schools in order to confirm the award. This Guinness recognition will further fuel the efforts of the state education department to strengthen the Andhra model of public education, ensuring quality and equitable education for all," said B Srinivasa Rao, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Andhra Pradesh.
