The S Club 7 singer, 46, revealed she had suffered 'the worst pain yet' as she appeared to be in hospital receiving medical treatment for her back.
The blonde took to her Instagram Story to share a selfie - looking downcast - while lying in a hospital bed.
She was 'devastated' to be in hospital as she shared the health update, alongside a crying emoji, with her concerned fans and famous friends.
Jo explained that she felt down over the latest health woe and didn't expect to be there as she was supposed to be on the 'road to recovery'.
While the exact cause for her admission is unclear, Jo had emergency surgery on her back in November 2022 to remove a disc and had to cancel gigs at the time including Fife Pride as a result.
Just after she revealed that she was 'devastated' and in a 'horrendous' amount of pain after the operation didn't work quite as well as expected.
She was back in hospital again and posted a picture of her drip with the caption: 'When am I gonna get a break ?? I really thought I was on the road to recovery.
'4am this morning the pain was the worst it's been yet! So here we are again ! I am devastated.'
She added no more information as to when she might be out or news of a possible remedy.
On October 25 Jo revealed the first operation hadn't worked.
Speaking from her bed in an Instagram video she said she has to go back for more surgery after a recent MRI and said she feels like she's 'in a really bad place' at the moment.
'As you can see I'm back in bed. That is because the back is playing games again,' she said in a clip.
'The pain has been absolutely horrendous and today I got some MRI scan results back that wasn't the result I wanted. I've actually got to go back into hospital for further surgery on my back which I'm absolutely devastated about to be honest.'
'The pain is… horrendous.'

Jo admitted her injury was taking its toll on her mental health as she said: 'And it's been making me feel really quite in a bad place if I'm being honest.'
'I've felt really low. The last few days have been really tough but I'm hopefully with this next surgery, I will be back fighting fit and ready to get out there again so positive thinking.'
She captioned her post: 'So I got the MRI scan results I didn't want to see, and I am going to have to go back in for another back operation to try and get it fixed! I'm totally gutted that it didn't work the first time, but my back is in a bit of a mess to be honest!'
She then thanked fans for their support, writing: 'Thank you for all your love and support you continue to show me! And don't forget it's almost Halloween @ that means one thing!! Stream 'Thriller'! I love you all very much.'
The singer, who previously opened up about her struggle with gambling addiction, was initially injured in 2002 while filming S Club film Seeing Double.
Just last month, she revealed she needed 'urgent' back surgery after being rushed to hospital while rehearsing for a gig.
The S Club star, took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself wearing a hospital gown as she announced some 'devastating' news.
The singer revealed at the time that she wouldn't be performing after needing surgery on her back to 'remove the disk and fix the problem'.
She penned: 'UPDATE‼️ I am so devastated and sorry to have announce, that I will not be able to attend @fifepride on Saturday!
'As you may well know I have had some health issues with my back recently and it has resulted in me needing surgery to remove the disc and fix the problem.
'The pain has been unbearable, and I have been advised surgery is now my only option and been told this is something that's needs doing urgently to prevent further damage to my back!
'So I will be going in for the procedure tomorrow! I am beyond upset to be missing out on such a special day, and I am so so sorry.
'I hope you all understand that this decision was very hard but I must put my health first at this time!!

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was left visibly shaken after his family's private jet with wife Paris and their seven children was forced to do an emergency landing Tyson Fury has revealed he was left 'terrified' after the private jet he and his family were flying on was forced to make an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue mid-flight. The retired heavyweight boxing champion, 37, had been travelling with his wife Paris Fury, 35, and their seven children shortly after the couple renewed their wedding vows for a third time in France. The celebratory trip quickly turned into a distressing experience when the aircraft encountered a technical fault shortly after takeoff. It comes after Tyson said he was 'living the dream' as he recreated his first dance with Paris at their third wedding. Speaking to his followers via Instagram Stories, the legendary boxer recounted the unnerving moment. He explained: "So, we've travelled 100 miles on the plane and the captain's come over to me and said, 'we've got to turn this plane around because there's a problem with one of the wings and it won't fix on the computer so we gotta try and get back and turn around'." Fury, who has been open in the past about his struggles with anxiety and mental health, admitted that the situation deeply unsettled him. "Talk about totally sh***ing yourself. So we're now spinning the plane around and going back to the airport where we started. Terrifying," he added, as he looked visibly shaken while filming from inside the cabin. Video clips posted to social media show members of the Fury family onboard the jet as it turns back toward its departure point. Tyson captioned one of the videos simply writing: 'bad news.' The scary incident occurred shortly after Tyson and his wife celebrated a significant personal milestone. The couple, who first married in 2008, recently renewed their vows in an intimate ceremony held in the South of France. Only their children were present at the event, which took place in a small, scenic church. Paris wore a white bespoke gown by Self-Portrait, while Tyson opted for a more casual look, pairing a cream shirt with white shorts and sandals. The couple shared a series of photos from the day with Fury's 6.7 million Instagram followers. In the post, Tyson gushed: "Paris Fury and I got married again; third time lucky. We had the most beautiful day in the South of France, it holds a lot of special memories for us." The sweet video was set to Bruno Mars' 2011 track "Marry You." The couple's seven children - Venezuela, 15, Prince John James, 13, Prince Tyson II, 9, Valencia, 7, Prince Adonis Amaziah, 6, Athena, 4, and Prince Rico, 2, - were all present for the special occasion, marking another family milestone for the Fury family. Tyson, also known as The Gypsy King, announced his retirement from professional boxing in 2022 after an undefeated career. He has since remained in the public eye through reality TV appearances, business ventures, and continued interaction with fans via social media.
