Elderly woman killed in horror collision at busy car park as gardai issue appeal
Gardai and emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at a car park on the Castle Villas street of Dalkey at approximately 4.30pm on Sunday (July 13).
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, was rushed from the scene by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In a garda update, a spokesperson confirmed that the woman tragically passed away due to her injuries on Thursday.
An investigation into the collision is underway and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision that occurred at a car park on the Castle Villas street, Dalkey, Co. Dublin on Sunday 13th July 2025 at approximately 4:30pm.
"The collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was conveyed to St. Vincent's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced deceased today, Friday 17th July 2025.
"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Anyone who was in the Castle Villas street area on Sunday 13th July 2025 between 4:15-4:45pm and who may have any information is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
"Likewise, anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available.
"Gardaí can be contacted at the Dún Laoghaire Garda Station 01 6665000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."

No further investigation into Bishop Eamonn Casey following garda review
GARDAÍ WILL NOT be taking any further investigative actions following a review of the original file on Bishop Eamonn Casey. The review was conducted by the Garda National Protective Services Bureau (GNPSB) at the request of Garda Commissioner Drew Harris in the wake of the documentary 'Bishop Casey's Secrets' last year, in which Casey was described as a sexual predator. The programme examined the Catholic Church's handling of abuse allegations made against Casey, who died in 2017 aged 87. Multiple allegations of child sex abuse were made against Casey. The programme included an interview with his niece, Patricia Donovan, who claimed he first raped her at the age of five and that the sexual abuse continued for years. Gardaí hit tractor driver with points and fine after catching illegal tint
A tractor driver was issued penalty points and a fine after Gardaí spotted their window tint was not at a legal level. Cavan Gardaí pulled the tractor driver near Kingscourt after they spotted the tinted windows. After texting, officers found the windows only allowed 30 per cent of light to pass through. As per the law, 65 per cent of light must be able to pass through the window of a vehicle, however, the tractor was found to be in breach of that regulation. The driver was hit with both penalty points and a fine following the stop. A Garda spokesperson said: 'We pulled in the driver of this tractor near Kingscourt, Co. Cavan to test the tint on the front and driver side windows. 'The legally required minimum is 65 per cent. These tested 30 per cent. Has to be sorted before it's driven again, and the driver was issued points and a fine.' The traffic stop caused discourse surrounding the necessity of issuing penalty points and a fine following the incident. The Garda spokesperson wrote: 'We're pleased to see that this post about one of our all too many day-to-day detections for road traffic offences has gotten the important conversation going on matters of road safety. That's the objective.' They added in another comment: 'This driver was travelling on a public road. By tinting your vehicle's windows within the legal parameters as set out in the Road Traffic Act, we'll have one less offence to enforce in our work to keep all road users safe.' Gardaí investigating death of man found on road in Cork
Gardaí are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive on a road in Co Cork . Officers were alerted to the discovery of the man, aged in his 70s, in the Kildarra area of Bandon shortly before 6.30am on Saturday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital. The corner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged. READ MORE Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward. In particular, they are seeking information regarding a male observed cycling on roads in the vicinity of Kildarra in the early hours of Saturday. A spokeswoman said: 'Additionally, any road users who may have camera footage including dashcam and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make it available to gardai.
