Jordaan promises MPs ‘accountability' as Tseka named as culprit for Bafana yellow card bungle
The MPs demanded to know why the SA Football Association (Safa), reporting to the committee on Tuesday, has not taken action against Tseka .
Mokoena played in the 2-0 win over Lesotho in Polokwane in March as Bafana's team management missed the midfielder having accumulated two yellow cards in previous matches, meaning he should have been suspended.
The huge gaff seems certain to result in Group C leaders SA losing three points, which will endanger their chances of a first World Cup qualification other than as hosts since 2002.
However, Tseka received a fair degree of cover from Safa head of legal Poobalan Govindasamy and president Danny Jordaan, who told MPs they were waiting for Fifa's final decision concluding their internal investigation.

Striker Thabiso Kutumela has enjoyed a dream tournament so far — scoring in the first game, then assisting and scoring in the second. Kutumela was at Richards Bay last season after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns, but he failed to make much of an impact, managing just one goal in 11 league matches. That was clearly a poor return for the former Cape Town City and Maritzburg United striker — now known as a Durban City player — given his pedigree. Now, the 32-year-old has found new life with Bafana, putting his experience to good use as he looks for his next move. 'Special day' in store for couple after home affairs fire ruins wedding plans
Home affairs minister Leon Schreiber has promised to make it up to a couple who were supposed to get married at the home affairs office in Germiston, Ekurhuleni, on Tuesday, after their plans were ruined by a fire. The home office was set on fire during a protest linked to the evictions for nonpayment of rentals at the Paroe Park residential complex, leading to the temporary closure of the office. Promise Nobele, 32, and Nthabiseng Simelane, 29, secured the date to register their marriage two months ago. They have been together for 12 years and are married traditionally but were left disappointed when they arrived to find the home affairs building on fire. 'I feel very sad because it's also my birthday,' Simelane said. 'This was supposed to be a very good day for us. We married last year traditionally, and we were looking forward to this. It's heartbreaking. Unfortunately all that we have planned will have to be postponed.' The news sparked reactions from social media users, with many calling for Schreiber to intervene, while others saw the incident as a 'sign' for the couple not to get married. Taking to X, Schreiber said his department would ensure the couple receives 'the special day they deserve'. 'The team is on it and working to find their contact details,' he said. Farmers lament losses caused by elephants breaking out of Kruger Park
'We do attend to the complaint calls, and sometimes we monitor their [elephants'] movements. Where they cause damage, we intervene. Unfortunately there is no compensation policy [for damage caused by wild animals] in the province to assist communities or farmers.' SanParks spokesperson Ray Thakhuli said: 'There are many reasons [elephants escape], one being the animals can push down the [park's] fence and walk into the surrounding area. Another reason is that people take [parts of] the park's fence and they [animals] have an easy way to walk out.' Thakhuli said elephants continually move within the landscape, regularly moving between SA and Zimbabwe. He said there are an average of one report of elephants breaking out of the park each week during periods of high elephant activity linked to seasonal variations in rainfall and food availability. '[The elephants] are herded back into the park by helicopter, where applicable, or euthanised where necessary. Environmental monitors also frequently report breakages for urgent responses by the authorities, and they fix the fences where necessary. 'Communities are advised to report elephant presence to the relevant authorities and refrain from taking matters into their hands or obstruct authorities in the implementation of their duties.'
