After adopting two kittens from a local rescue, a couple couldn't stop thinking about the one sibling left behind, so they immediately went back for him.
A viral Reddit post shared on Wednesday under the username u/EvergreenHulk, shows the newest addition to the couple's home, a small tabby kitten with big green eyes. The caption says: "We left him at the shelter Friday when we adopted his brothers. We returned and brought Loki home today."
The poster, Mark, told Newsweek that they were a four-cat home until they lost their 14-year-old girl Max in April 2024, and then her brother Baloo at 16 years old in May 2025, so he and his wife decided it was time to rescue some new kitties.
"Last week, my wife saw a Facebook post from the Friends of Montcalm County Animal Control. They had three male kittens left from a litter of five to adopt. She wanted to go see a kitten, and, at our appointment on Friday, we agreed we were going to adopt Sprite," Mark said.
However, while the couple were meeting the kitten, his brother kept demanding attention from the poster's wife and climbing on her leg, so they also adopted Frodo and became a four-cat house again.
"Almost immediately, we regretted leaving one kitten behind. We discussed that, if no one had adopted him in two weeks, we would reach out again. But we are such softies for kitties that we barely made it through the weekend," Mark said.
"My wife called the shelter again on Monday and made an appointment to pick up the last kitten Tuesday after work. As soon as he got back with his brothers, it was like they had never been separated," Mark added.
"They have been snuggling, playing, and wrestling for the last day. It's been a blast to see them all back together. Our biggest regret is making him be all alone for those four days."
Adopting animals from shelters has never been more important. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) says that almost 3 million homeless cats entered U.S. shelters in 2024, and, of those, only 2.2 were adopted.
About 362,000 were returned to their owner or the field, and, of those left, 369,000 were transferred to other organizations, and another 273,000 were euthanized.
Animals in shelter are often euthanized for lack of space, because intake numbers are higher than available spots. Adopting an animal from a shelter will not only save their life, but will also make space to host another homeless pet, which may otherwise be euthanized.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 20,000 upvotes and 240 comments on the platform.
One user, AffectionateMemory82, commented: "No kittens left behind! I love this. Congratulations Loki and your brothers! Is one of them named Thor by chance?"
RolandLWN posted: "I did that, and went back twice until I'd adopted the entire litter of five. I started out adopting two, then felt bad about their two siblings left behind so I went back for another two.
"Then a month later someone returned the fifth one who had been adopted before I adopted the two sets. I was thrilled to be able to go and get her and bring her home to her four siblings! And she knew them immediately!"

Watch Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman and walk-on Isaiah Dunn funny segment on SportsCenter

With Notre Dame football making its annual New York media trip, head coach Marcus Freeman a more than a few Irish players are making their rounds on various shows. One of those was ESPN's SportsCenter, and while Freeman thought that he'd just be speaking with Kevin Negandhi, that wasn't the case. Walk-on cornerback Isaiah Dunn was on the set as well, and surprised his head coach while on a video call for the interview. The senior from California wasn't one of the players accompanying Freeman to New York, but instead was in Bristol, Connecticut and had quite the question for this head coach. Dunn asked who, on a random Tuesday practice, would come up with a big interception, and his coach picked the 'host' to make the play. It's another reason why players really love playing for Freeman, he always has their backs along with a generally great sense of humor. The relationships that he's forged with former, current and future Irish players has been impressive, and one of the big reasons why Notre Dame is becoming one of the top teams to play for. Classic Rocker Riffs on Coldplay Jumbotron Scandal With His Own Band's Iconic Song

Classic Rocker Riffs on Coldplay Jumbotron Scandal With His Own Band's Iconic Song originally appeared on Parade. First, it was Spinal Tap. Now, REO Speedwagon's is taking on the Coldplay jumbotron scandal and running with it by quoting one of his band's own classic songs. 'Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from Coldplay you've been messin around…..,' the band's bassist posted on Facebook on July 18 along with three photos of the couple in question on the jumbotron, first in an embrace and then shirking in embarrassment once they realize their image is being broadcast throughout the stadium. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Hall's post features the lyrics from REO Speedwagon's 1980 top 5 hit 'Take It on the Run,' from the band's chart-topping ninth album, Hi Infidelity, replacing the original "heard it from another" lyric with "Coldplay." The irony of pairing a variation of the song's lyrics, from an album with that title, with the Coldplay jumbotron scandal couple was not lost on Hall's fans. Some even adapted lyrics from other REO classics to the situation. 'And after caught on camera it was time for him to fly. He won't be ridin this storm out,' wrote one, referencing the band's 1973 hit, "Ridin' the Storm Out." 'he can't fight this feeling, but he's going to have to roll with the changes,' responded another, with a nod to the band's 1978 song "Roll With the Changes." 'Omg!!!! Please tell me I'm not the only one who just sang this? Out loud???' added another. 'And as he leaves with his bags, he turns to his wife and says, "Im Gonna Keep On Loving You!!!!' another fan added, referencing "Keep on Loving You," a No. 1 hit from Hi Infidelity. Others skipped the REO references and joked about Coldplay. One posted a meme he 'stole from a friend' that read, 'Coldplay haven't released any singles for ages but they created two last night.' 'That guy ended up playing more money for his Coldplay tickets than any other individual in the history of the world,' added another. The 'guy' in question has been identified as , the CEO of the software company Astronomer. He was caught on camera hugging a woman who appeared to be his co-worker, Kristin Cabot. These are the Top 10 most attractive accents in America

They're smooth talkers. These accents are the most attractive in America — and shockingly, Long Island and Staten Island made the Top 10. The Cajun accent was crowned the most attractive in the nation, according to a recent study by VegasSlotsOnline, which analyzed more than 1,000 mentions of regional accents across Reddit, X, forums and blogs and ranked them based on the proportion of positive mentions. Advertisement Mostly found in southern Louisiana, the Cajun accent, which also can be heard as far as Texas and Mississippi, is influenced by the dialect of the French who settled in the area. The Long Island accent placed second, followed by Mississippi, Florida, the Pacific Northwest and Maine. 3 A new study analyzed more than 1,000 mentions of regional accents across Reddit, X, forums and blogs to come up with a Top 10 list of the most attractive. Mauro Grigollo Photographer/Stocksy – Advertisement Staten Islanders' accent — which Noo Yawkas would tell you is identical to Brooklynites' — placed ninth. Experts said such accents are perceived as friendly. 'In short, the tradeoff for standing out as 'different' or 'local' sounding is that you sound like someone we'd like to hang out with and be friends with if not necessarily employ. We think of local accents as charming, fun, and pleasant,' said Valerie Fridland, professor of linguistics at the University of Nevada. 3 The Cajun accent, mostly heard in southern Louisiana, was named the most attractive. Melanie DeFazio Photography/Stocksy – Advertisement Chef Danielle Sepsy, a native of Saint James, LI — who posted a TikTok video about her accent which garnered over 410,00 views — agreed, saying her native tongue is comforting, but also keeps people on their toes. 'The Long Island accent is like a warm hug with a little edge — nostalgic, confident, and full of personality. It's got the comfort of grandma's kitchen and the fire of a girl who knows what she wants,' Sepsy said. 'No wonder it's sexy . . . it's strength with a little (mascara covered) side-eye.' Advertisement The Appalachian accent, also referred to as 'mountain talk,' influenced by the Scotch-Irish, German, and English who settled in the region, which spans from Southern New York to Northern Mississippi, took sixth. The wicked good Boston accent and the High Tider, a dialect spoken in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and considered the last existing British accent in the United States, tied for seventh. Fridland pointed out that familiarity influences which manners of speaking people find appealing. 'In general, when we look at research that examines what makes a language attractive, familiarity is one of the biggest factors driving preferences,' she said. 'It is not surprising that accents people are generally very familiar with — Southern, New Yorker, New England — made this top 10 list.' 3 Elyse DeLucci, who grew up in Annadale, said its not hard to understand why the Staten Island accent is attractive. Helayne Seidman NYC accents sparked debate. 'Despite what everyone believes, the Staten Island accent and Long Island accent are just the plain ol' New York City accent. There's no difference between them,' Michael Newman, chair of the department of linguistics at Queens College, told The Post. 'When people rate accents, really what they're doing is providing opinions on the people who they associate with that way of speaking.' Advertisement Comedian Elyse DeLucci, who grew up in Annadale, Staten Island, understands the difference. 'When you hear our accent, you get the whole package, ya know? Charisma, confidence, and sincerity,' she said. 'Nothing sexier than that.'
