Immediately after the bail order was issued, the state filed an application with the chamber court seeking a stay of the order. The chamber court did not stay but set a hearing date.
"In order to prevent
Chinmoy Prabhu
from being released, even after being granted bail by the High Court, he was shown arrested in Chittagong court", said Das's lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee.
"None of Chinmoy's lawyer were able to appear in the Chittagong court. The prosecution unilaterally did hearing", he said.
Meanwhile, Chinmoy's lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee told ANI that the allegation was completely false against our leader, Chinmoy Krishna Das. Seven months ago, he was arrested on November 25, 2024."
Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sanatani Jagran Jote and a former ISKCON leader, has been accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh and is facing sedition charges.
"There is no specific allegation against him for flag dishonour. We argued with all documents in favour of him, and the court was satisfied and granted bail, and the rule was absolute. We are happy for this judgement," Bhattacharjee said.
"We hope he will be freed within a week from Chittagong Central Jail after the order reaching to the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate court", he added.
"The government is trying to stay in order," Bhattacharjee said.
"But there is no sign of his speech or motivation or anything against Chinmoy Prabhu of sedition. Still, after seven months, there is no police investigation report", he said.

India, EU keen to complete FTA by end of this year: Jaishankar
Marseille [France], June 13 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Friday that India and EU have set the goal of trying to complete the Free Trade Agreement by end this year and noted that the negotiators and the stakeholders are reacting to a global environment where the importance of doing this FTA has become much more. Jaishankar, who is in France as part of his three-nation visit, said India also seeks to conclude a defence and security partnership with the European Union. 'We are putting so much focus on Europe because we can see a quantum jump into multipolarity. There's a realisation in Europe that a lot of its problems and solutions will have to be analysed and thought through by Europe itself. Today's Europe is more self-aware, self-reliant and strategically autonomous, and will want to look for partners who can work with Europe in that respect... That gives an additional impetus to India-Europe relations, which were evolutionary, but I predict a very sharp acceleration in that,' he said 'In Brussels, we made strong progress in our Free Trade Agreement negotiations. We seek to conclude a defence and security partnership with the European Union. We are looking at a space agreement. We have individual agreements with the states of Europe on talent mobility. We are now trying to see if we can get across an understanding across the entire Union... There is a lot of discussion about connectivity because if you're going to do more business and we're all trying to de-risk and stabilise the global economy, connectivity is very much part of that conversation,' he added. He spoke about the progress in FTA negotiations. 'We have set the goal of trying to complete it by this year. I'm told that half the chapters are done, and for the remaining half, considerable progress has been made. Our trade ministers have met 3 times in the last 6 weeks. We will see another round of meetings by the end of this month. There is a certain urgency and energy that is different. The negotiators and the stakeholders are reacting to a global environment where the importance of doing this FTA has become much more,' he added. India and France have completed 25 years of strategic partnership. The bilateral relations with France are rooted in deep trust and commitment, and the two countries cooperate closely across all domains of strategic and contemporary relevance besides sharing similar outlook on many regional and global issues. Maharashtra: After 'no non-Hindus' call, Shani temple fires 114 Muslim staff
Maharashtra: After 'no non-Hindus' call, Shani temple fires 114 Muslim staff NASHIK: The trust managing the Shani Shingnapur shrine in Maharashtra 's Ahilyanagar has recently laid off 167 staffers on "disciplinary grounds". Of them, 114 (68%) are Muslims, a temple source said. The trust, Shri Shaneshwar Devasthan, has attributed the sackings to "non-performance and long absenteeism" but not cited any specific reasons. The staffers, working for 2-10 years, were sacked in two rounds on June 8 and June 13. An outfit named Sakal Hindu Samaj had threatened a protest on June 14 demanding removal of non-Hindus working in the shrine in Shanishingnapur. This followed a viral video in May showing a man, purportedly not a Hindu, carrying out painting work at the shrine. Devasthan CEO Gorakshanath Darandale justified the removals and denied bias. "There is no question of discrimination in the action. Those removed are from different faiths. The action was strictly disciplinary in nature. Over 2,400 employees work with Devasthan. Many do not report to work. Devasthan had held back their salaries and served show-cause notices. This is the first batch against whom action has been taken," Darandale said. Another senior Devasthan official said those sacked "were engaged in agriculture, waste management and education departments of the temple trust". "Some have been absent from work for five months."

Pak student in Canada caught plotting terror in America against Jews
Shahzeb Khan, a Pakistani national, was extradited to the U.S. for plotting a terrorist attack targeting a Jewish neighbourhood in New York City on October 7, 2024, timed with the first anniversary of the Hamas assault on Israel. According to prosecutors, Khan coordinated with undercover U.S. agents, seeking to acquire AR-style rifles, ammunition, and tactical gear for a mass-casualty attack. He intended to cross into the U.S. from Canada and carry out the assault himself when he was intercepted in Quebec. The plot was thwarted before any weapons were delivered, thanks to a months-long sting operation. Khan now faces serious federal charges in what officials say could have been a devastating act of terrorism. His extradition took place, ironically on the day that a top U.S General praised Pakistan as a 'phenomenal partner' in counter terrorism. Read More
