Totally 80s Ice Cream Shoppe in Salem celebrates 1 year of business

Yahoo20-04-2025
SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) — Totally 80s Ice Cream Shoppe in downtown Salem celebrated its one-year anniversary on Sunday.
The entire store has a rad theme for the decade, known for its iconic movies like 'The Goonies' and arcade games like Pac-Man. Parents and grandparents are able to share their experiences with a younger generation.
Owner Mike Thrope says it's been fun trying out different ideas customers have suggested over the last year.
'A lot of our customers have been our best creativity, if you will. They'll say, 'Oh, this would be cool,' and then all of a sudden, the wheels start turning,' Thrope said.
Totally 80s gained enough popularity to begin the process of opening a second store in Austintown, which should be opening very soon.

Why ‘The Office' cast would sneak back onto set after hours: Brian Baumgartner

It was after business hours. 'The Office' star Brian Baumgartner has revealed that the cast used to sneak back on set after filming — for one key reason. 'There were some nights where we came back to Dunder Mifflin late at night when the shooting had stopped,' Baumgartner, 52, exclusively told The Post. 'The people who were involved in the Fantasy Football league would sit at all of the working computers, and draft in person together there.' 9 Brian Baumgartner in his interview with the New York Post. 9 Brian Baumgartner as Kevin with his chili on 'The Office.' 'Those are very fond memories, for sure.' Baumgartner played the chili-loving Kevin Malone from 2005 to 2013. The NBC comedy also starred Steve Carrell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fisher and Mindy Kaling. They played staffers at the paper company, Dunder Mifflin. 'I do a fair amount [of trash talking.] I'm very active….during the draft,' he said while promoting his partnership with Samuel Adam's Octoberfest beer, including a limited-edition Fall Legends Commissioner's Kit for Fantasy Football season. 'If you draft wrong, you're going to hear from me, probably Rainn Wilson as well. He's a big trash talker.' Carrell, however, isn't in their league. 'He's kind of a Patriots guy. And hockey is more Steve's thing,' he noted. 'Steve still played hockey while we were shooting the show in a rec league.' The cast would even play Fantasy Football on their characters' computers when the cameras rolled. 'We were probably all much better players when we had time there to just sit and look at our computers,' he said. 9 Kate Flannery as Meredith Palmer, B.J. We would pay bills, and get personal business done.' The show exploded in popularity during the 2020 pandemic. According to Nielsen data, 'The Office' was the most streamed show of 2020, raking in over 57 billion minutes viewed. He recalled an incident when, 'I was chatting with Rainn [Wilson] and I said, 'it feels like the show is as big as it was when we were at the height.' And I remember this specifically, he said, 'no, it feels bigger.'' 9 Jenna Fischer holds up a piece of cake celebrating the 100th episode of 'The Office' as Brian Baumgartner, Steve Carell, Angela Kinsey, and B.J. 'It's hard to really have people understand how small that conference room really was. [Creator] Greg Daniels kept it very small because he wanted it to have that sort of claustrophobic feeling,' he told The Post. 'We all felt a little punch drunk…..Steve really thrived in those moments and very clearly to me, he did his best to try to make us laugh.'

He has been a wonderful colleague for many years, and we wish him the very best,' Rothman said in a statement. 'The key to a sound organization, however, is to have a strong bench. Our marketing group has that, and I am very pleased to recognize some of our outstanding longtime talent with expanded roles. Dave and Nick are two of the finest creative advertising minds I have encountered in my many years of doing this, and Danielle and Steven provide expert, experienced leadership. I am confident our marketing prowess will only grow.' Rothman continued, 'Likewise, Peter is one of the most skillful and dedicated production executives in all of Hollywood. Kang joined Sony Pictures in 2019 and worked on the development and production of such films as 2024's 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die' and Jennifer Lawrence's comedy 'No Hard Feelings.' He played a key role in launching Sony's collaboration with PlayStation Productions, which yielded 2022's 'Uncharted' with Tom Holland and Neill Blomkamp's 'Gran Turismo.' Fruchbom, who joined Sony Pictures in 2015, and Weiss, who joined in 2014, have led the creative campaigns behind Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,' Greta Gerwig's 'Little Women,' Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell's rom-com 'Anyone But You' and 'Jumanji: The Next Level,' among many others. Giannetti, a 35-year veteran of the company, has overseen the production on the newest 'Jumanji' films, 'It Ends With Us,' and 'The Equalizer 3.' 'I'm thrilled to have someone as accomplished and smart as Peter leading Columbia Pictures,' Panitch said. 'And in addition to the pleasure of working with all the many capable executives at each of the divisions I oversee, I feel especially fortunate to collaborate directly with the exceptional Ange Giannetti. We have a lot of big event movies moving down our pipeline, so it is a very exciting and promising time at Sony, where we continue to prioritize and prize the theatrical experience.' Sony's upcoming film slate includes Darren Aronofsky's crime thriller 'Caught Stealing,' the sequel '28 Years Later: Bone Temple,' Marvel's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and a new 'Jumanji' installment. Day 3 of trial for alleged mastermind in Young Dolph murder

Hernandez Govan will be live in the courtroom at 9:30 a.m. in the video box above. MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Hernandez Govan, the man accused of orchestrating the death of rapper Young Dolph, is set to appear in court for day three of his trial Wednesday morning. On Tuesday, Angela Arnold, the girlfriend of Cornelius Smith, was the first witness to take the stand. She told the court that to her knowledge, Smith never had direct contact with Big Jook and that he would communicate with Govan to send and receive messages. She also testified she saw Govan at a carwash hours after Young Dolph's death, when Smith picked up a cellphone from Govan he had left in the white Mercedes used in the murder. Various Memphis Police Investigators were then called to testify in court, along with cell phone records. According to the investigators, they went over calls and text records of Goavn, Smith, and Big Jook in the months leading up to the murder and afterward. They say Smith appeared to have several outgoing calls to Govan. But in cross-examination, Govan's defense attorney explained the reasoning for their communication, saying, Govan supplied Smith with various types of pills, and Johnson talked with him because he was an aspiring rapper. Another investigator who testified said detectives went to the airport to execute a search warrant on Big Jook's phone and asked if they could speak to him, but he refused. This story will be updated. ► Day 1: Trial of alleged mastermind in Young Dolph case ► Day 2: Trial of alleged mastermind in Young Dolph case Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
