Special Mother's Day gift for the ages: ‘Always going to be with you'
Some adventurous moms and their adult children traded in Mother's Day brunches and flowers for matching ink at city tattoo parlors — which offered two-fer specials to celebrate the special occasion.
Studios from the Red Hook Tattoo Parlor in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, to Igla Tattoo Studio in Midtown, Manhattan, offered relatives a unique way to show their love for each other with mom-themed designs.
'You could [buy] flowers … but this is something that's going to last,' said Adam Korothy, a senior tattoo artist at Live By The Sword in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The shop offered two $50 tattoos for a discounted $90 or three for $130 during Mother's Day weekend.
'It's also having the memory of the experience,' said Korothy, 52, who boasts his own 'Mom' heart tattoo.
'I know this is something special to them — let's turn up the fun and make it a good time.'
Among the shop's special offerings was a 1-inch heart with 'Mom' written across, which at least one duo received Friday.
'Happy 1st Mother's Day to us lol,' one of the recipients wrote on social media.

Some younger kids also watched as their mother got tattooed as a bonding experience on Mom's special day.
Matching ink for moms and their adult children have exploded in popularity given a de-stigmatization around tattoos in the past decade and particularly since after the pandemic, Korothy said.
'A lot more moms are not only getting tattooed [now], but they've been tattooed before they had kids,' the artist said. 'So you'll have the daughter come of age, and they'll come in and do a matching tattoo or a similar theme.'
The holiday special was done for more than just sentimental reasons, Korothy acknowledged.

As recession fears loom and discretionary spending tightens, tattoo shops have to remain competitive and give ink lovers as much bang for their buck as possible.
'Promotions are a part of getting ahead of that,' he said. 'It's going to make it more affordable.'
Isabella Dizon and Carolina Mogollon at Nice Tattoo Parlor in Williamsburg, which was offering a 20% off discount for Mother's Day tattoos, said they do inks honoring moms more than once a week.

'I'm also getting a lot of moms recently just celebrating their own motherhood [with a tattoo],' Mongollon said.
'Yesterday, I had a lady with a smiley face [tattoo], and she said it was her first happy tattoo, because her other one was for her stillborn twins.'
At Igla Tattoo, 18-year-old Bostonian Ella Lygran received her second tattoo, which replicated her grandmother's handwriting from a card she wrote when she was born.

Shop tattoo artist Olha Terekh said tattoos featuring maternity are 'one of the most common tattoos' — from birth-month flower 'bouquets' to the fingerprints of loved ones.
'For a lot of people it's very important to put something permanent on themselves that's connected to family,' Zhukova said.
'It's a memory for their whole life,' she said.
Just like family, 'it's always going to be with you.'

Baby Bear Throws Incredibly Cute Tantrum When Mom Leaves Him in a Tree
Baby Bear Throws Incredibly Cute Tantrum When Mom Leaves Him in a Tree originally appeared on PetHelpful. Make sure you have your sound turned up for this one, because you'll definitely want to hear everything this baby bear has to say. He is throwing the tantrum to end all tantrums because his Mom stuck him safely up a tree for a few minutes, and that's not what he wants! Proving bears have more in common with toddlers than we ever thought possible, this baby bear yells, and complains, and stops just shy of stomping his feet. He reminds me of my once-upon-a-time 3-year-old, and the time I wouldn't buy him that super expensive, age-inappropriate Transformer that he really wanted. Take a look! Wow! Is he mad! Viewers absolutely recognize the toddler vibes he's throwing off. Peaceblast3r said, 'I think I saw that kid at McDonald's earlier,' while Tommie Lee pointed out, 'Looks like timeout is tough for anyone.' Jakeandrew points out that, 'Somewhere close by, mama bear is rolling her eyes, and telling herself he just needs to cry it out.' Genxfromtex notes that, 'You know momma is just a few yards away gathering breakfast and muttering about her child embarrassing her in front of the world.' LOL! What Is This Baby Bear Yelling About? Bears make sounds to communicate, and, as you guessed, this little tyke is using the bawling, growling, and moaning to tell Mom that he's distressed and nervous and wants out of the tree growls are also a warning to anyone in the woods that they are too close, and better back off. The National Parks Service warns that 'If you hear them while you're out in the park, back away calmly (never run), leave the immediate area, and give the bear more space.' This site has bear vocalizations explained, and let me tell you, the adult bear's growl is not as endearing as the baby bear, and not something I'd ever want to hear! I'm sure the baby had forgotten all about his trauma exactly 36 seconds after Mom retrieved him from the tree, and all is well now. But Mom is probably *still* rolling her eyes. Golden Retriever Gets DIY Bath After Missed Grooming Appointment and He's Offended
Golden Retriever Gets DIY Bath After Missed Grooming Appointment and He's Offended originally appeared on PawNation. It's weird how some dogs absolutely love playing in the water—but then act like the sky is falling when it's time for a bath. They will literally run and jump in a swimming pool all day long, but when Mom brings out the hose for a quick scrub session, they instantly fall into a depressed state. One pet mom shared a video on TikTok of her downtrodden Golden Retriever receiving a quick backyard bath—and without any context, it would be easy to be concerned about him. Chester's broken heart vibe is strong, and it's easy to think he's in an uncomfortable situation. Well, it's all an act! He's just upset that he didn't get to go to the groomer for his usual spa treatment. Unfortunately, this Golden Retriever is such a busy pup that his vet appointment and spa day overlapped—causing Mom to reschedule with the salon. Due to his overall stinky predicament, it was necessary for Mom to take matters into her own hands. The clip is a short one that starts with Chester being doused with a garden hose and ends with his head wrapped in an adorable babushka. The fluffy, four-legged drama king is going to live another day—despite the backyard bath torture he was subjected to. 3-Year-Old Accidentally Shatters $1,600 Table, Mom Claims Cafe Wouldn't Let Them Leave Before Handing Over Credit Card and ID
"I was completely humiliated and embarrassed," the mom said as she shared the story on TikTok NEED TO KNOW A mom recently took her 3-year-old daughter and 76-year-old mother for coffee and ice cream at the Hazelnut Cafe in Ocean County, N.J. While paying at the register, her daughter accidentally broke a $1,600 stone table The mom claims the cafe owner wouldn't let her leave before handing over her credit card and driver's license One mom is going viral after sharing an unexpected mishap at a local cafe — and how she resolved things with the owner. In a TikTok video that has racked up nearly 12 million views, a mom — who goes by beautihut on social media — explained how she recently took her 3-year-old daughter and 76-year-old mother for coffee and ice cream at the Hazelnut Cafe in Ocean County, N.J. The woman was paying at the register while they waited at a table, when she suddenly heard a loud bang. She looked over and saw that the 600-lb. stone table had broken into hundreds of pieces after her daughter had tried to push it away from herself. The mom recalled that she immediately began freaking out. She pushed through the crowd to reach her daughter to make sure she was okay and also checked on her mom, who was both nervous and embarrassed. She then approached the cafe staff, offering to pay for any damages. "I said, 'Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I don't know what to do. What could I do to make this right?' " she recounted in the video. "My daughter, she's not crying, she's not reaching for Mommy, she's just kinda frozen and scared and nervous." "When the owner got on the phone, I said, 'Oh my god, I'm so sorry, we're so embarrassed.' My daughter even kept saying, 'I'm so sorry,' " she continued. "The owner said, 'Well, the table is almost $2,000 — it's $1,600 — so you can't leave until I have your license and a credit card.' " In the moment, the mom explained, she needed to leave to ensure her daughter was not hurt, especially since pieces of the table had broken off. But despite giving her and her husband's emails and contact information, she claims she was not allowed to exit the cafe until she handed over her credit card and driver's license. "I said, 'I have to call you back and we can figure it out, but I do have to take care of my kid,' " she explained in the video. "But anyway, it was a big scene, and all she kept repeating was, 'You break it, you pay for it.' "I was completely humiliated and embarrassed and I've cried since," the woman added. She did not reveal whether the cafe ultimately charged her credit card and had her pay for the broken table. The mom posted about the situation on TikTok, seeking advice from viewers. Since then, nearly 40,000 people have commented, sharing their thoughts on the cafe incident and sending love to her daughter and family. PEOPLE has reached out to both the mom and Hazelnut Cafe for comment. The mom later shared an update on TikTok. She confirmed that the Hazelnut Cafe had reached out to apologize for how her family was treated. She said they 'accepted the cafe's apology" and were "satisfied.' 'We wish to move forward peacefully and do not wish to comment on this matter any further,' she added. Read the original article on People
