AS Roma is now getting closer to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton FC. The striker has agreed for a move and are waiting to get the agreement reached between the clubs. AS Roma are on the verge of completing a major move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, with the deal now in its advanced and final stages. The 19-year-old Irish forward has already given the green light for the transfer, and both clubs are now working towards finalising the agreement.
Roma have been actively seeking a new centre-forward this summer, and Ferguson's Premier League experience has made him a top target. The Giallorossi see him as a long-term investment who can bring strength, finishing ability, and youthful energy to their attack.
Ferguson, who has shown flashes of brilliance in the English top flight despite limited starts at Brighton, is believed to be excited about the move to Italy and the opportunity to develop under Roma's setup. With personal terms agreed, the deal now hinges on the clubs settling the final details.

Liverpool in contact to sign NEXT forward after Hugo Ekitike
Liverpool are already in contact to sign their next forward after Hugo Ekitike. So, it doesn't look like Alexander Isak will be coming to Anfield, for now. But the Reds have accelerated a move for Ekitike, who seems like the perfect option for Arne Slot's style of play. LFC x Nike Air Max Buy Now LFC Retro Shirts Buy Now LFC Kits Buy Now LFC Nike Training Buy Now Ekitike is still young, but already he has an impressive career behind him and he looks like he could thrive in a Liverpool team brimming with exciting attacking talent. Crucially, what makes him a really exciting prospect is his fluidity. Ekitike isn't just a poacher, he's someone who link-up really well, who can hold the ball up, run behind defences, and also make wide runs towards the flanks to create space for others. He's the facilitator and goal-scorer that Slot has been wanting to sign for a long time. That's why Liverpool made contact to sign Ekitike back in April as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch. The perks of signing Ekitike also means that Liverpool's finances will allow them to bring in another forward should Darwin Nunez leave. This is a possibility that has been confirmed in a recent report here. Liverpool don't just want Ekitike, they want another striker. The Reds are light in this position even if Ekitike arrives. If Nunez leaves, they will have just Ekitike and potentially some makeshift options like Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz and Florian Wirtz to play the no.9 role. Jayden Danns could obviously step-up but he may be better off getting regular playing time somewhere else. So, who could the Reds sign instead? The perfect option is someone they are already in contact with. As reported recently, the Reds have touched base with Jean-Philippe Mateta's representatives over a potential summer move. Mateta may seem like an odd name. He's just turned 28-years-old, so he's slightly older than the usual players Liverpool sign. However, he's proven and he's a goal-scorer with the ability to consistently put his chances away. Last season out of players who averaged at least 1.8 shots per 90 minutes, Mateta had the third best goal conversion rate (23.3%) in the Premier League. That goes to show what kind of talent he is. The fact that he averaged 46 goal contributions for Crystal Palace in his last two seasons is also a very impressive statistic. And this is not an anomaly either. In over 18000 minutes during his professional career, Mateta has always been a reliable finisher. As per Wyscout his career goal conversion is just under 21%, which is still a really solid and reliable number for a forward. Importantly, he has consistently proven he can outperform his xG. His career xG total at club level for Mainz, Lyon, Le Havre, Palace and the French Olympic team is 90.4xG. Meanwhile, his total career goals for all those teams is at 97. So he's outperformed his xG in his career by close to 7 goals. Normally, if this was over the course of one season it would be a red flag but over the course of his career and a massive sample size this is a sign of a good finisher. Mateta's all-round game it has to be said is nowhere near the level of Ekitike or Isak. However, he has improved that side of his game, too. And at the end of the day with the likes of Wirtz, Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz or potentially another option on the left-wing with exciting full-backs like Milos Kerkez, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, Mateta won't need to be as fluid. He can just stay in the box and put the chances away that they create for him - which is the best side of his game. So, overall while at first glance maybe people will have been scratching their heads at Mateta, this does make sense on paper. A lot of sense in fact. Ekitike and Mateta would be two solid options for Liverpool. Especially, if the Reds can get it done for the price of one Isak. Mateta's arrival will undoubtedly hinge on just how much Palace will want for his services - and that could be a stumbling block.

Notre Dame sees another Indiana wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford commit to Ohio State
Recruitment still open 100% but it's some programs showing big time love 👀This top 10 and decision might have to come earlier than expected 😳 Unfortunately for Notre Dame, one of its recent teams that have given them problems, Ohio State, continues to do a great job recruiting to state of Indiana. The Buckeyes on Friday won out the recruitment for Jerquaden Guilford, the states top ranked wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite . A Fort Wayne native who never received an offer from the Irish, but had scholarships from Georgia, Indiana, Michigan and Ole Miss. You have to wonder why Notre Dame opted not to offer Guilford, as he's clearly good enough to play for them. Maybe it was a fit inside the program, as the Irish have passed on numerous in-state prospects who could have been difference makers. Over the last few cycles, the Buckeyes have won out with Mylan Graham, Ian Moore, Joshua Mickens, and Caden Curry, all top Indiana prospects. In the Irish's 2026 class, there are already five receiver commits in Kaydon Finley, Bubba Frazier, Devin Fitzgerald Brayden Robinson and Dylan Faison. This could very well have been a cause where the Irish liked who they already had in the fold, which would make perfect sense. There is an argument to be made that Guilford's size and skill set was similar enough to Fitzgerald's, which is why they passed. What should worry Notre Dame fans is the fact that 2027 in-state 5-star receiver Monshun Sales could be leaning away from the Irish as well. You can't let a player of his caliber leave the state, even if he is a national recruit. Notre Dame has offered, but Sales social media has been very pro-Ohio State. Hopefully the Irish can win out on this battle, as they continue to lose top in-state prospects to the Buckeyes. 23yo new signing excited to make his mark at Arsenal
Noni Madueke is eager to get started at Arsenal after completing his move from Chelsea, bringing with him a wealth of Premier League experience and an exciting attacking threat. The 23-year-old winger, who was born and raised in Barnet, has signed a long-term deal with the Gunners. His instinct, he says, played a major part in his decision to join Arsenal, and he's confident that this move will help him progress both professionally and personally. Commenting on his decision, Madueke explained: 'I'm somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time, and I feel like it's steered me in the right direction so far. I think it's going to be a great success, and I'm really happy to be here.' He also mentioned the personal satisfaction of returning home to be closer to his family, adding, 'It's great to go back home, be with my mum, my dad. I know my mum misses me in the house!' The England international is looking forward to contributing to the squad's ambitions in the upcoming season, believing the team has a clear identity and plenty of potential. 'It's already a great team with a clear identity and I can't wait to bring my style to the team and help the boys take that next step,' said Madueke, who is determined to help Arsenal compete for honours across all competitions. On his expectations for the season ahead, Madueke is determined to push the team towards winning titles. 'To win all the competitions we're in, I feel like we're definitely capable of doing that. And also to help the team in every way I can and grow as a player, but also as a person,' he added. Madueke's versatility is one of his standout qualities. Known for being a threat from both the left and right flanks, he has the ability to pose significant problems for opposition defenders. His direct approach, always aiming to beat his man, makes him a constant danger. 'I try and be a dual threat from the left and from the right. Of course, it's a little different when I play on the left or when I play on the right, but it doesn't really matter to me where I play,' he said. 'I only really have one thought in my mind when I get the ball to feet or in space, it is just to line up the full-back and go past him.' During his time at Chelsea, Madueke was known for his dribbling and ball-carrying ability, ranking among the best in the Premier League for progressive carries and non-penalty expected goals (xG). He averaged 6.1 carries per 90 minutes, which placed him among the top players in the league, and his ability to make a difference in the final third is reflected in his 3.5 shots per game, level with Bukayo Saka and Mo Salah and only behind Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Matheus Cunha. His flair and incisiveness have caused problems for many defences, and he is likely to be a key player for Mikel Arteta moving forward. 'I'm very happy, very excited to get to work,' Madueke said, reflecting his eagerness to integrate into the squad and contribute immediately. 'I've spoken to Dec [Declan Rice], Myles [Myles Lewis-Skelly], Bukayo [Saka], and even Jurrien [Timber] as well, and they all say amazing things about the club and the culture here, how warm it is and how much of a family it is. I'm really happy to be a part of the Arsenal family now.' The winger, who netted 11 goals across all competitions last season, will bring a new dynamic to Arsenal's attacking line, adding another layer of creativity and speed. His dribbling and shot-taking ability are exactly what Arteta needs as the team looks to challenge for domestic and European titles. With his work ethic and a proven track record in the Premier League, Madueke is expected to be a crucial part of the Gunners' squad for years to come.
