Chris Appleton Breaks Silence on Lukas Gage Divorce

Chris Appleton Breaks Silence on Lukas Gage Divorce

Cosmopolitan8 hours ago
It's been two years since his whirlwind romance with actor Lukas Gage came to an end, but it seems Chris Appleton has no regrets. The celeb hairstylist, who's best known for laying styles on Kim Kardashian and Dua Lipa, recently opened up about his divorce from Lukas for the first time since their separation.
During an Aug. 6 appearance on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, Chris revealed how the breakup affected his mental health and why he waited to talk about it so openly. 'This is the first time I've ever spoke about this,' he said. 'I think people have this perception, from social media probably, that I have it together... But the truth is, especially during that time, I was going through a lot of private pain.'
In case you need a refresher: Chris and Lukas went public with their relationship in February 2023 and tied the knot just months later in April. According to court docs obtained by People, Chris then filed for divorce in November 2023, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their separation. Their divorce was ultimately finalized in June 2024, with the former couple agreeing to waive spousal support.
'Moving fast doesn't always mean you're reckless,' Chris said of the quick timeline. 'I think sometimes it means you're hopeful.'
According to the stylist, he 'would rather love and fall than to never feel anything at all.' He added, 'You can love someone and there not be a forever happy ending. I think you learn so much from it. I think any relationship I've ever gone into, I've learned so much from it.'
Though this is the first time Chris has spoken about the end of his short-lived relationship, Lukas previously referred to the marriage 'manic' during a March 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen.
'Manic, absolutely unhinged,' he said about the impulsive decision before referring to the fur coats they wore at the Las Vegas chapel where they tied the knot. 'I had a manic episode for six months. Those jackets, those furry jackets…'
Lukas continued, 'What happened to me? I don't know, literally, what went through my head. But we live and we learn.'
Here's hoping we get more deets from Chris when his memoir, Your Roots Don't Define You, drops next year.

Jon Miyahara, wordlessly funny Brett in NBC's 'Superstore,' dies at 83: Reports

Jon Miyahara, who played the enigmatic and wordlessly hilarious Brett Kobashigawa on all six seasons of NBC's "Superstore," has died at 83, according to reports. His daughter, Pennie Cappasola, confirmed the news to People and TMZ on Aug. 7. Costar Colton Dunn, who played fellow Cloud 9 associate Garrett, was the first to announce Miyahara's death on Instagram on Aug. 6. Miyahara was a "really awesome guy and as a performer could speak volumes with just a look. He was such a memorable part of the Cloud 9 team," Dunn wrote in the caption of his post. "It was an honor to know him and work with him. I was lucky enough to meet some of his family and my thoughts are with them. Rest in Peace John. 💙" USA TODAY has reached out to reps for Dunn and NBCUniversal for comment. According to Miyahara's IMDB page, Brett, whom he portrayed from 2015 to the series finale in 2021, was his only major TV role. Though he only had one line in the entirety of the show's six-year run, Miyahara's Brett gave the impression of an esteemed store associate, often seen doing actual work while his coworkers are up to their antics. This mysterious air made certain moments, including silly wardrobe choices such as Halloween costumes and an Easter bunny outfit, pack a comedic punch. Brett says "Happy Easter!" 🐰 In Season 3, the Cloud 9 employees held a memorial for Brett, assuming he'd died in a tornado that tore through the store at the end of Season 2. But he was indeed alive in the break room and ready for another day on the job, having missed a few months due to emails being sent to the wrong person.

Kristine Frøseth and Guy Remmers' Relationship Timeline

For everyone still reeling over the season 2 finale of The Buccaneers, I've got more !!! news for you: actors Kristine Frøseth and Guy Remmers (aka Nan St. George and Theo, the Duke of Tintagel) are actually a couple in real life. The two began dating all the way back in 2022 after meeting on the set of the Apple TV+ series, and as far as I know, the couple is still going strong. Of course, their romance is so low-key that you may not have even realized it was happening. For that reason, I present to you a handy timeline of how Kristine and Guy (not to be confused with Guy Thwarte, Nan's other love interest on The Buccaneers) first got together and where they stand now. Principal photography for the first season of The Buccaneers begins in Madrid, which is presumably where Kristine and Guy first cross paths. (Later, during an interview with Tatler, Guy confirms that he and Kristine met on set.) Kristine takes to her Instagram Stories to share an intimate-looking pic of herself and someone who looks like Guy cuddling on a beach, which has fans like 😱. The Buccaneers season 1 premieres, and the following month at a photocall, Kristine and Guy smitten, no? (Sry to Matthew Broome.) The costars attend the Simone Rocha show during London Fashion Week together, which has fans wondering, 'Um, are these two an item??' And not long after, they're spotted at the JW Anderson show! And then, to clear up any remaining doubt, they share cute pics of each other on their IG Stories in honor of Valentine's Day. During an interview with People, Kristine shares how she tried (and failed) to throw a surprise birthday for her boyfriend (!!) Guy. 'I was trying to host a surprise birthday party for the first time in my life,' she explains. 'And I organized everything and everyone was coming. But that weekend, the schedule changed and so everyone went home. So it was basically just me and my boyfriend, unfortunately. I'm still having to try and make up for it.' In his interview with Tatler, Guy opens up about his girlfriend (!!), saying 'her energy' is his favorite thing about her. 'We both love to dance,' he says. 'Kay, that's basically all I know, but here's hoping we get more details about this 'ship (and the fate of season 3) soon!!
