'Dimaag Khaata Rehta Hai': Kohli Jokes As RCB Youngster Calls Him 'Bade Bhai'
Last Updated:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Swastik Chikara was seen in hillarious video with Virat Kohli.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) youngster, Swastik Chikara, took to social media to express his admiration for senior teammate and Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli.
Chikara, a batter from Uttar Pradesh, was signed by RCB for INR 30 lakh during the IPL mega auction, although he has yet to make his debut. He has, however, garnered attention this year through RCB's social media, which frequently showcases his admiration for Kohli.
Swastik often speaks about the valuable lessons he has learned from Kohli's discipline, work ethic, and intensity, referring to the former RCB captain as his elder brother.
Following RCB's decisive victory over LSG, Chikara approached Kohli in the dressing room and took a selfie with him. This moment was captured by the RCB social media team, who shared a video on X. After the photo was taken, Kohli jokingly remarked, ' Dimaag khaata rehta hai hamesha" (he keeps annoying me).
In the next frame, Chikara proudly displayed the selfie he had taken with Kohli. Despite Kohli's playful comment, the young batter held up the picture for the camera with pride.
Chikara said in the video, ' Bade bhai hai hamara. Jab mann kare, tab photo le dete hain" (He's my elder brother. Lets me click a picture with him whenever I want to).
Kohli has already scored eight half-centuries in the IPL this season, amassing over 600 runs. He remains a strong contender in the Orange Cap race, currently holding the fifth spot on the leaderboard.
The 36-year-old retired from Test cricket recently and stepped down from T20Is last year. However, he remains a key player in the IPL, continuing to dominate the scoring charts with his consistent performances.
RCB secured a significant win over Lucknow Super Giants, ensuring a top 2 finish in the points table. Following their thrilling 228-run chase against LSG, Rajat Patidar and Co. prepare to face table-toppers Punjab Kings in the crucial IPL 2025 Eliminator 1 on Thursday in Mullanpur. A win will send them straight to the final in Ahmedabad on June 3. Even if RCB falters, they will have another chance in Qualifier 2, where they will face the winner of the eliminator between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.

Gill, Rahul score fifties in intra-squad practice match against India A ahead of England Test
Beckenham [UK], June 13 (ANI): Indian skipper Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were among the runs while Shardul Thakur delivered a solid performance with the ball on Day 1 of the intra-squad match between the Indian senior side and India A at Beckenham on Friday. The official X handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted some pictures from the match. 'Beckenham. A solid Opening Day in the Intra-Squad game! Half-centuries for KL Rahul & Captain Shubman Gill. Shardul Thakur amongst the wickets,' posted BCCI. KL Rahul had also slammed scores of 116 and 51 during the second unofficial Test against England Lions at Northampton. Gill, who has a poor average of 14.66 in England and has scored just 88 runs in six innings across three matches here with a best score of 28, will take plenty of confidence from his knock. Thakur, who scored knocks of 27 (in first unofficial Test) and 19 and 34 (in the second unofficial Test) against England Lions and also took two wickets against them, also got some valuable game time as he battles a young Nitish Kumar Reddy for the spot of a pace-bowling all-rounder in the team. India's first Test against England at Leeds from June 20 will mark the start of a new era under newly-appointed captain Shubman Gill, as he aims to lead a new-look team to glory following the retirements of stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from Tests and Ravichandran Ashwin from international cricket. The series will be held from June to August 2025, with matches scheduled at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester. India's Test squad for England series: Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (vc), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav. Gautam Gambhir Returns To India From England Due To Medical Emergency: Report
Last Updated: Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has reportedly returned home from England days before the Tendulkar-Anderson trophy due to a family emergency. Indian men's head coach Gautam Gambhir has reportedly been forced to return to India from England due to a medical emergency just days before the start of the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy on June 20. According to Sportstar, his mother, Seema, has suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in Intensive Care. Gambhir reached England with the team on June 7. This is his fourth Test series as the head coach. He reportedly missed India's net session on June 12, too, and is no longer with the squad. The date of his possible return is currently uncertain, though some reports say he might come back by next week. Gambhir's return comes on the day of India's intra-squad game. The match, likely to be played between teams drawn from the senior and India 'A' squads, will be played behind closed doors in Leeds, i.e., it won't be broadcast or streamed, and a scorecard is unlikely to be available either. According to news agency PTI, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate will assume the charge for the match. Bowling coach Morne Morkel and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak will assist him. It's the last bit of red-ball preparation for several first-time members, who are coming straight from the IPL. The first Test will be played in Headingley from next Friday. Earlier, Gambhir gave a stirring motivational speech to his young team about moving on from the retirements of greats like Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and previous captain Rohit Sharma. 'All I want to say is there are two ways of looking at this group. One is that we are without our three most experienced players, or we've got this phenomenal opportunity to do something special," Gambhir said in a video shared by the BCCI, which was shot before his departure. 'And when I look around this group, the hunger, the passion and the commitment to do something special… If we make sacrifices, if we come out of our comfort zones, if we start fighting, not every day, but every session, every hour and every ball, I think we can have a memorable tour. So make sure we start that today. Start enjoying playing for the country because there's no bigger honour," he added. First Published:
