Astronomer denies claims linking third woman at Coldplay concert to employee Alyssa Staddord

Express Tribune2 days ago
Astronomer has officially denied online rumors suggesting that the woman spotted alongside CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot at the Coldplay concert was employee Alyssa Staddord.
The speculation began after viral footage from the event showed Byron and Cabot canoodling in the crowd, prompting widespread backlash and a company investigation. As the video gained traction, online users began analyzing every frame, with many falsely identifying a third woman as Staddord.
In a statement released on X, formerly Twitter, Astronomer clarified: 'We can confirm that the only employees of Astronomer in attendance at the Coldplay concert were Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot. The woman speculated to be Alyssa Staddord is not affiliated with our organization.'
Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.

The company, a data orchestration platform backed by Salesforce Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures, has been in crisis mode since the video emerged. Both Byron and Cabot have been placed on leave while an internal investigation is underway.
The social media frenzy has included spoof accounts, memes, and misinformation, intensifying scrutiny over Astronomer's leadership and corporate culture. Google Trends shows searches for 'Astronomer CEO scandal' and 'Coldplay cheating video' have spiked over the past 48 hours.
Former employees have also come forward with claims about Byron's alleged toxic leadership, adding fuel to the controversy.
Astronomer says it remains committed to transparency and maintaining its core values. 'Our leaders are expected to uphold standards of professionalism both in and out of the workplace,' the company added.

BTS Jin parodies Astronomer CEO's Coldplay concert scandal during Anaheim show segment

During his RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR stop in Anaheim, BTS's Jin took a playful detour from his setlist to parody a viral Coldplay concert moment involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR executive Kristin Cabot. While playing a charades game with the audience, the word 'Coldplay' flashed on screen. Jin hesitated at first, but quickly recognised the cue and re-enacted the now-famous kisscam moment, where Byron and Cabot awkwardly hugged and ducked their heads as the camera zoomed in on them. The original footage had gone viral online after fans spotted the pair's shy exchange at a Coldplay show. Jin's surprise mimicry drew laughs and applause, further fuelling the popularity of the clip, which had already caught the attention of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Reacting to the moment during his own concert, Martin had said, 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy. I hope we didn't do something bad.' BTS is currently based in the US, recording their first group single in four years, scheduled for release in spring 2026. With all seven members reunited, anticipation is building for a new era in the band's journey.

Why did Taylor Russell suddenly walk off Michael B. Jordan's ‘The Thomas Crown Affair'?

In a move that's already raising eyebrows in Hollywood, Taylor Russell has exited The Thomas Crown Affair remake just as filming ramps up in London. While official word pins the departure on 'creative differences,' insiders and fans alike are speculating there may be more to the story. Russell had been cast opposite Michael B. Jordan in the high-stakes thriller, playing an insurance investigator entangled with a suave executive suspected of masterminding elaborate heists. The role has legacy weight: it was first played by Faye Dunaway in the 1968 original and later by Rene Russo in the 1999 Pierce Brosnan version. Losing Russell mid-production leaves a gaping hole in one of the film's most iconic dynamics. While the studio scrambles to recast, the internet isn't waiting. Fans quickly lit up X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, with theories ranging from on-set clashes to dissatisfaction with the script. Some even pointed to rumoured tension between Russell and Jordan, though no direct confirmation has surfaced. Others speculated that Russell, who's rapidly building an arthouse résumé, may have felt misaligned with the commercial direction of the project. One Deadline commenter wrote, 'Creative differences lol. Sure. Would love the truth.' Another added, 'She shouldn't be casted again. Nor insurable,' fuelling speculation that the departure wasn't entirely amicable. Despite the setback, Russell's career shows no signs of slowing down. She's set to star in Korean thriller Hope, a Frank Ocean film, and is in talks for a remake of Single White Female opposite Jenna Ortega. Meanwhile, The Thomas Crown Affair remains on track for its March 2027 release, assuming its crown jewel can be quickly replaced.

Who is Andrew Cabot? Privateer Rum CEO tied to Astronomer HR chief Kristin Cabot amid Coldplay scandal

Astronomer's HR chief Kristin Cabot, who appeared alongside CEO Andy Byron in a now-viral kiss cam video from a Coldplay concert, appears to be married to Andrew Cabot, the CEO of Massachusetts-based Privateer Rum, according to property records and company listings. Public records obtained by the New York Post show that Kristin and Andrew Cabot share a Rye, New Hampshire address and co-own a $2.2 million New England-style coastal home, which they purchased in February 2025. Kristin was also listed as an 'advisory board member' at Privateer Rum beginning in September 2020, according to a LinkedIn profile believed to be hers. That profile has since been deleted, and the company's official website does not currently list her in any leadership capacity. Massachusetts court documents further show that Kristin, 52, was previously married to Kenneth Thornby. The two reportedly separated in 2018, and their divorce was finalized in 2022. These revelations add new context to the Coldplay concert controversy, where the kiss cam footage of Cabot and Byron sparked public speculation, internal scrutiny, and ultimately resulted in both executives being placed on administrative leave. While neither Cabot nor Byron has issued a public statement, the growing internet backlash has intensified questions surrounding workplace boundaries and Cabot's personal affiliations.
