Meghan, Duchess of Sussex gets Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to operate a 'little farmer's market stand'
The children's mother, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, explained she and her husband Prince Harry are keen for their kids to "understand the value of things", so not only are the youngsters encouraged to help out in their garden in Montecito, California, the young prince, six, and his four-year-old sister also get to sell what they produce because the couple feel they can learn a lot that way.
Appearing on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Meghan was asked if she talked about money "or that type of thing" with her children and she replied: "We sometimes do a little farmer's market stand.
"We grow a lot of veggies and part of what I want them to learn is, and gardening is really so great for children, 'cause it teaches them patience, teaches them to value and appreciate their food.
"So you start from seed and you watch it grow, and they wait. But with that, it's like, now do you want to sell your harvest? And do you want to share it with our community? And also, what do you want to do with those funds once you have them?
"So really starting to understand as they're learning counting and numbers and all of those things, that there's a cost and a price for things.
"And I think that's key for children to understand that, especially children who are very lucky to have a home that has privilege.
"You need to know that, just like manners, and taking care of the things around you, there is a value on things.
"In our life, for my husband and I, it's really important that they understand the value of things."
Meanwhile, Meghan also admitted she is delaying a second season of her own podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, because she is keen to take on the advice from her guests and focus on her lifestyle brand As Ever for the time being.
She said: 'What an amazing opportunity, to pull back the curtain and let people see what's happening at the start, to have the opportunity to talk to so many female founders who've been on that full trajectory, that are on the other side of success. To be able to be really candid and vulnerable personally about my learns and stumbles along the way.
'And to then take everyone's advice, and mine included, and to say 'I love that there's so much excitement and desire for another season, but I need to focus on my business.''
The 43-year-old former actress insisted she wouldn't be shelving the series forever.
She said: 'So does it mean it won't come back? No. But I would love to bring the show back when I am at a different end of my founder journey.
"When I've gone through Q4 and say, 'Here are my proof points. Wow, what a year it's been.' Or even longer than that. I think a different time will be so exciting to be able to compare and contrast.'

‘There is a bug in your food': Meghan Markle blasted for ‘unsanitary' cookies
'To Di For' podcast host Kinsey Schofield slams Meghan Markle for promoting 'unsanitary' cookies after a bug was spotted in the product. 'What she's trying to do is highlight her As Ever shortbread mix here on social media, but this presentation backfired,' Ms Schofield told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'You do see this little worm, and critics are saying that it's unsanitary, and I mean, it's just turned into a PR fiasco. 'Her entire new brand is about elevating and how she looks for the little details … you're trying to teach us about details, there is a bug in your food.'

Netflix ‘putting out the trash' releasing season two of Meghan Markle's cooking show
Broadcaster Dee Dee Dunleavy criticises Netflix's decision to renew Meghan Markle's cooking show 'With Love, Meghan' for a second season after negative reviews of the first. 'It was filmed at the same time as the first season, it's not like Netflix went, 'oh, that was so great, let's go back and film some more'," Ms Dunleavy said. 'This feels very much to me like Netflix's picking up all the rubbish and putting out the trash … they're just getting rid of the last bit of content they've made with these two. 'There are four chefs on the show, all of whom have Netflix shows. It's almost as though they were contractually obliged to say, 'Yes, I'll appear with Meghan.' I would love to see the list of who was asked to be on the show but said no.'

‘They're starting to pull back and are less committed to her brand': Netflix ‘don't know what to do' with Meghan Markle
Netflix are reportedly 'slowly pulling back' from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry despite agreeing to a new 'first look' deal with the Sussexes. The Sussexes recently rolled over to a new 'first look' deal with the streaming giant following the expiration of their five year, $100 million contract. That contract produced the wildly popular Harry and Meghan 'docu-series' spilling royal secrets, but subsequent projects like Polo disappeared without a trace. Under the terms of the updated deal, Netflix has first run at any Sussex projects in the pipeline but is under no obligation to green light or fund Harry and Meghan's ideas. Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks, who said earlier this year that he declined an offer to work on Markle's cooking series, believes Netflix will struggle to utilise the Sussexes. 'I think Netflix will get to a point where they won't know what to do with her anymore and she might end up in an office job at Netflix headquarters,' he told the Express newspaper on Thursday. The TV chef also speculated that Meghan's decision to focus on the cooking and lifestyle space may end up limiting her career prospects. 'She won't stray from cooking, and Netflix along with other investors have invested heavily in her and her lifestyle brand (As Ever),' he said. 'Netflix's recent temporary contract extension, which is paid per show, suggests they're starting to pull back and are less committed to her brand than they were a few years ago. 'It seems to me that Netflix is placing a few more bets now, hoping to recover some of the money they've lost…. Netflix are a powerhouse, they can take the hit financially.' The warning comes after Netflix dropped the 'season two' trailer for With Love, Meghan. In the trailer, Markle showed a glimpse of her upcoming celebrity guests, including the likes of celebrity guru Jay Shetty and model Chrissy Teigen. While the timing of the trailer appeared to show the streamer's confidence in the Duchess of Sussex, those episodes were actually already in the can and were shot back-to-back with the first season last year. It is understood the first original project under the Sussexes' new deal will be a Christmas-themed special entitled With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration.
