Pfizer Q4 results: Net profit jumps 85% to Rs 330.94 crore

NEW DELHI: US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer reported an 85% surge in net profit, reaching Rs 330.94 crore during the fourth quarter ending March 2025, driven by exceptional gains from completed asset sales and transfers, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 178.86 crore in the corresponding quarter of preceding fiscal,

said in the filing.
Operational revenue reached Rs 591.91 crore in the quarter under review, compared to Rs 546.63 crore in the same period last year, it added.
The fourth quarter's total expenses increased to Rs 383.5 crore, up from Rs 377.9 crore in the previous year's corresponding period.
The quarter included an exceptional gain of Rs 172.81 crore, resulting from the completed transfer and sale of Thane property, including structures and buildings, to Zoetis Pharmaceutical Research Pvt Ltd.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, the consolidated net profit reached Rs 767.6 crore, compared to Rs 551.33 crore in FY24.
The company's operational revenue for FY25 totalled Rs 2,281.35 crore, versus Rs 2,193.17 crore in FY24.
The board of directors has proposed a total dividend of Rs 165 per equity share at Rs 10 each for the financial year ending March 2025.
The dividend comprises a final dividend of Rs 35 per share, a special dividend of Rs 100 per share marking the company's 75th year in India, and an additional special dividend of Rs 30 per share reflecting gains from the leasehold land and building transfer.

Since 2022, Liu had headed the Communist Party's International Department, which oversees the management with foreign political parties, according to the report. He traveled on a high-profile 2024 trip to the United States, where he met with a variety of senior officials, including then-Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to the report. However, he was not promoted to the role at a recent annual government reshuffle, as per the report. Wen-Ti Sung, a fellow at the Atlantic Council's Global China Hub, said that, "If true, Liu Jianchao's downfall will lead to further power vacuum at the top of China's foreign affairs portfolio," adding, "It removes a frontrunner to succeed Wang Yi and deprives China of a potential next steward for China's foreign policy," as quoted by Reuters. IHCL acquires 51% stake in firms operated under Clarks Hotels for ₹204 cr

Taj Hotels parent and hospitality arm of the Tata group, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), acquired 51 per cent equity stake in two companies that operate 135 hotels under the Clarks Hotels and Resorts brand for Rs 204 crore, it said in an exchange filing late on Monday. The two companies include ANK Hotels Private Limited, which has a portfolio of 111 midscale hotels and Pride Hospitality Private Limited, which operates 24 hotels across India. IHCL will acquire majority shareholding in ANK Hotels for Rs 110 crore and in Pride Hospitality for Rs 94 crore. The transactions are expected to be completed by November this year. 'The transactions aim to address India's heterogeneous market landscape and provide deeper geographical penetration across India in the midscale segment while continuing to pursue its asset light growth strategy,' IHCL said in its filing to BSE on Monday evening. The announcement was issued after market hours. India's largest hospitality firm by market capitalisation at ~1.06 trillion saw its shares rise by 1.65 per cent to close at Rs 746.65 on BSE. ANK Hotels Private Limited operates and manages hotels under the umbrella of The Clarks Hotels & Resorts which include brands of Clarks Inn, Clarks Inn Suites and Clarks Inn Premier. Of the total 111 hotels in its portfolio, 67 are operational. The company has a turnover of Rs 14.32 crore in FY25. Pride Hospitality Private Limited also operates and manages Clarks Safari, Clarks Collection, Clarks Resort that also fall under The Clarks Hotels & Resorts. Of the total 24 midscale hotels, 13 are operational. This company had a turnover of Rs 18.94 crore in FY25.
