Apple TV+ new series Long Way Home will see Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman take a 20th anniversary trip across the UK and Europe - here's everything you need to know
Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman are set to embark on another cross-country journey in a new season of their 'Long Way' series. The latest instalment, Long Way Home, will be available for streaming from May 9, more than two decades after the duo's first epic motorcycle adventure.
The upcoming series, spread across 10 episodes, will follow the pair as they ride refurbished vintage motorbikes from McGregor's home in Scotland to Boorman's home in England. However, instead of taking the shortest route, they've instead opted for the scenic one.

Their journey takes them across the North Sea to Scandinavia, up to the Arctic Circle, down to the Baltics and through continental Europe, before finally crossing back over the English Channel two months later.

Their nine-week-long adventure takes in 17 countries and some of the world's most spectacular driving routes. This marks the fourth edition of the Emmy-nominated series, following Long Way Round, Long Way Down and Long Way Up.
Long Way Home will be exclusively available on Apple TV+. The platform also hosts the three previous seasons, all of which are available for streaming, reports the Mirror.
Disney+ is also set to launch a raft of docuseries of its own, including National Geographic titles such as Secrets of the Penguins and Tucci in Italy, which will debut on May 19. Limitless with Chris Hemsworth is also expected to return later this year.
In Long Way Home, McGregor can be seen riding a 1974 Moto Guzzi 850 El Dorado, previously used as a California police bike, while Boorman brings back to life a 1972 BMW R75/5, once described as a 'rust heap'.

Their journey takes them through countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands, where they immerse themselves in the local culture, meet the residents, and participate in unique and diverse activities.
"For the last 20 years, my best friend Charley Boorman and I have travelled to some of the farthest corners of the world," McGregor says in the series trailer.
"Yet, we've never properly explored the countries on our own doorstep, so this time, Europe is our playground."

Long Way Home is executive produced by McGregor and Boorman, along with longtime collaborators David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, who also direct.
Ahead of the series premiere, one Long Way fan wrote on X: "I'm soooo excited for this. Feels like just the other day we were watching the first one."
Another commented: "Looking forward to this. Put it in the calendar."

A third added: "Sold. Great story and authentic people. I'll take adventure stuff like this all day!".
However, not all fans are thrilled. One viewer expressed their disappointment: "While it's nice to see them teamed up for another ride, it's very disappointing they caved to Apple TV subscription service."

These are the most Instagrammable attractions in the U.S., per a new study

Let's face it: Few people travel days without taking photos destined to wind up on social media (you know, whenever they finish putting them through several rounds of filters). And even if you're not planning to post 'em to Instagram, you still want to snap beautiful shots, and an amazing backdrop is half the battle. So how do you get a wonderful background to stand in front of? You pick your destination from the most Instagrammable attractions in the U.S. Created by the French online casino comparison company Lucky-7-Bonus, the picturesque list was formed by starting with Tour Scanner's round-up of the 100 best tourist attractions, each of which was then scanned on Instagram to learn how many hashtags it earned. For instance, the number one destination on the resulting list—unsurprisingly, the most magical place on Earth, a.k.a. Walt Disney World—was hashtagged 11,345,400 times by Insta users. Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida features many places to take a fantastic photo across its huge complex, which includes multiple theme parks—with the iconic Cinderella castle and chances to take photos with beloved characters—plus water parks and more than two dozen official Disney resort hotels. But the true winner of this list is New York City. No fewer than six of its attractions land on this top 10 list. And if we expand it from New York City to New York state, a seventh destination gets added! Clearly, New York dominates, including nabbing the second-place spot with Central Park, which has 8,912,000 hashtagged posts. The stunning 843-acre park includes views of wild landscapes (we love the Ramble with its twisting woodland paths) with skyscrapers on the horizon. Don't forget to take a photo at the Belvedere Castle, too. An NYC destination is also third on this list: Broadway, with 7,432,800 hashtags. The avenue is famous for its theaters and getting a photo with a marquee showing the name of the stage production you saw is a tourist favorite. New York State also captures the no. 4 (Times Square), no. 5 (Wall Street), no. 8 (Brooklyn Bridge), no. 9 (Niagara Falls) and no. 10 (Empire State Building) spots on the ranking. So, if you're an influencer, New York has to be on your photo-snapping itinerary! Here's the full list of the top 10 most Instagrammable attractions in the U.S.: 1. Walt Disney World: Florida 2. Central Park: New York 3. Broadway: New York 4. Times Square: New York 5. Wall Street: New York 6. Venice Beach: California 7. Grand Canyon: Arizona 8. Brooklyn Bridge: New York 9. Niagara Falls: New York 10. Empire State Building: New York

Shameless star made OBE says Prince of Wales joked about her playing Elizabeth I

Shameless star Anne-Marie Duff said she and the Prince of Wales laughed about her previous role playing Elizabeth I as she was formally made an OBE. Ms Duff, 54, played Fiona Gallagher in Channel 4's Shameless TV show and won a best supporting actress Bafta for her role as Grace Williams in Apple TV's series Bad Sisters. The actor also performed as Elizabeth I in the 2005 to 2006 BBC dramatisation of the monarch's life, titled The Virgin Queen. Discussing that role led William to joke 'this should all be old hat for you, or something' during Wednesday's ceremony at Windsor Castle, Ms Duff said. The actor spoke to the PA news agency inside the Berkshire royal residence after being formally made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to drama. Asked if the event had been as expected having played Elizabeth I, she said: '(Windsor Castle) is like a treasure chest, isn't it? Because every piece of every room is swollen with history and art and value, so it's very specific. 'To be in this environment where people do live and do sit down and have their dinner and all of those things – you know, when you're on location, you don't really have that feeling of something like that, but this is someone's home, which is just extraordinary to me.' The Virgin Queen was not filmed at royal residences for security reasons, she said. Ms Duff lives in north London and has a son with her former husband and Shameless co-star James McAvoy. She said she and the Prince of Wales discussed balancing work and parenting and 'how we're all kind of the same'. Her next guaranteed job is not until 2026 and she said she cannot talk about other projects that may pop up before then. 'There's so much nonsense now, you can't even read scripts now without NDAs (non-disclosure agreements)', she said. 'The streamers are like old Hollywood studios, it's like that, it's so bonkers, so you don't get to sort of enjoy the prelude to things with people – you can't say, oh my god, yeah, I'm going to be doing (this). You have to keep everything on the down-low.' She laughed as she said: 'I would love to tell you, Your Royal Highness, but … ' 'There are snipers everywhere, that's what it feels like, seriously, the walls have ears', she added. Ms Duff said a play would be the 'juiciest' next project for her because she prefers the 'communion with people' in theatre, as well as the immediacy and 'being in charge of the chronology'. She said she discussed her preference for the stage with William. She told PA: 'If a light bulb blows, we still go on. It's all of that and the jeopardy of it – when things go wrong, you become so resourceful and having each other's back as a company.' Asked how she felt after being formally made an OBE, Ms Duff said: 'Fabulous, really lucky. You never imagine that – I think especially for people who work in the arts – you never really have a sense of what you do as having a great deal of importance or being a contribution to anything. 'You're just so busy working away. It feels extraordinary to be recognised.'

Liam Gallagher has just one regret as he prepares for first Oasis comeback show

Ahead of Oasis taking to the stage in Cardiff next month, Liam Gallagher has taken to social media and revealed that he has just one regret about the legendary band Liam Gallagher has revealed his one major regret about Oasis just weeks before the band hit the road. The legendary Manchester-based band will be on s tage together for the first time in 16 years next month for their mammoth Oasis Live '25 tour. Brothers Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, had been at loggerheads ever since the band split in 2009 and were often embroiled in tense feuds on social media and in interviews. But years before their split, an internal war is believed to have broken out between the warring siblings. Liam is said to have questioned the paternity of Noel's eldest daughter, Anaïs, 25, in May 2000. ‌ But after almost two decades of arguing, the brothers left fans in a state of disbelief last year when they announced their sensational return, almost 15 years to the day of their split. In just a matter of weeks, they will take to the stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4 for their first show. ‌ However, Liam has now opened up about his one major regret about the band in an honest admission with a fan. "How does it feel singing songs with ur brother again? Like old times?" asked one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. Liam responded: "You know what it's spiritual but I can't help think about all those wasted years, what a waste of PRECIOUS time." Oasis came to an end in 2009 following a disagreement between Liam and Noel backstage at the Rock en Seine Festival in Paris. A witness who saw them row said: "Liam was goading Noel constantly and then the two snapped." Liam also smashed up one of Noel's guitars during the heated clash. The pair are due to perform over 20 dates starting on July 4, before completing the UK leg on September 28 at Wembley Stadium. But could fans see the once-warring brothers again after their upcoming tour? Replying to a fan last week, Liam said: "Let's see how this tour goes and if we still love each other after it." ‌ When asked by the Mirror how rehearsals are going, Liam told us: "Dangerous." Meanwhile, videos have circulated on social media, with audio clips of the band apparently rehearsing the anthems Cigarettes & Alcohol and Fade Away. He told fans that it was his idea to have both songs on the setlist for the most anticipated tour. Last week, the two brothers were seen heading to rehearsals for the first time. While the pair arrived separately, they had two very different methods of transport to the top-secret location. Liam was seen arriving in a chauffeur-driven van, surrounded by packets of Lockets and cough syrup to help his throat, while his older brother, Noel, took public transport and was seen on the District Line at Paddington station. A source told the Mirror: "It was extremely exciting having Noel and Liam in the same room. The excitement for the tour is off the charts." Get Oasis updates straight to your WhatsApp!
